I was wondering if Kaguya could use edo tensei or resurrect dead people.

Call me horrible, but if she could, why isn't she resurrecting Itachi and/or Kushina to get a rise out of Naruto and Sasuke?

The bigger question is here is how would she know who Kushina and Itachi is, why would she bring them and back, and why use Edo Tensei when she could bring them back to life period?

As you know the Edo Tensei was invented by Tobirama and he existed long after Kaguya was sealed away. How would she get this knowledge of how to summon them? Plus she would need bodies to which she has none, but I guess she could use the people in the Tsukuyomi. However, why would she want to do that? There wouldn't be any reason to do that and the jutsu requires the other person DNA, which she doesn't have. Why not just bring them back to life period? She obviously has enough chakra to do anything she wants so just bring them back to life at all. Hell, even tempt Naruto and Sasuke with it.

 

"If you give me your chakra, I'll bring back what you want most. Naruto, your parents and Sasuke, your clan." That would be interesting.

Of course, she doesn't seem like the person who would trade one for the other. She is rather selfish in she wants all the power to herself and probably wouldn't release or bring people back to life regardless if she got what she wanted.

Can she do it? I think by this time she can do what she wants. Does she want to do it? Mostly likely not.

It would be horrible, but not for that reason. It'd be horrible because Edo!Itachi already had his moment in the sun when he basically signed off anything Sasuke did going forward (no matter how awful) and Naruto met Kushina. Story wise...what would be the point? If she wants to yank his chain, go after Sakura and Kakashi. They have the advantage of being alive and kind of involved in this. No technique needed.

Ability wise, I'd think so, but the manga is vague as hell on what was known during Kaguya's time, so I don't know if she'd have the requisite knowledge. More importantly, why is there any reason to believe she knows either Itachi or Kushina. She has a familiarity with Naruto and Sasuke because they are the reincarnations of her grandsons (just died a little inside saying that).

She's powerful but has not be described as omnipotent.

She could feasibly do it given that its entirely plausible that Tobiramas research into it, might have roots in kaguyus era techniques witnessed and spoken about in stories or forbidden scrolls etc passed down through generations.

she could conceivably have an ability similar that was the root technique that Edo tensei evolved from.

Besides characters that have already been resurrected since this war began who weren't able to receive any emotional closure? Well there's Jiraiya, Kisame, Konan, Kushina, Neji, and Sakumo who spring to mind. Some of those names are dubious given their last moments before death but they're possibilities.

Edo Tensei isn't what Kaguya needs at the moment though. The sacrifices necessary for the people you're resurrecting is already a hefty fine to pay, but the minimal amount of strength they have would hardly be enough to act as distractions, much less fighters of significant worth who can turn the tide of this fight. Their only value would be in how damaging they are to Naruto and his group psychologically since he would be pushed into fighting his mother, godfather, and deceased friend.

With all this talk of edo tensei I would be questioning if kagyua could tempt them all with rinne tensei
