Nomura has re-affirmed that the KH series will have a new saga following the end of Xehanort saga and Sora will still be the main protagonist.
Light and Shadow are the only static creations of this universe.

And with a new story, we need new development. Kairi and Sora are dating and she's running around with him on his journey.

Some of voice actors announced and I still don't know who will voice Master Xehanort. He better do a good Leonard Nimoy impersonation.

I'm curious who they got for him, since Christopher Lee is easily replace but nimoy is harder.

I don't why, but I get this "older brother" vibe from Sora during the scene where he's leaning against the tree with Flynn while watching Rapunzel play around.
How many times has he helped get official Disney couples get together by this point? How old is he by this point, late teens? Also he clearly more experience then either of the two.
As for the tree, it looks like he just waiting for her to calm down. He just looks less annoyed by her antics then Eugene.
