The submissions are in and it's time to vote!

Since we're awarding prizes for first, second, and third, each of you (that have 50 posts or more) can vote for first, second, and third choices. This should make it a bit easier to make your decisions because we have a lot of great entries, for which I'd like to thank all the participants. :thumbs:

A 1st place vote is worth 5 points, 2nd place is worth 3 points, and a 3rd place vote is worth 1 point. Please PM your votes to me by next Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 5 PM EST. I'll be announcing the winner shortly afterwards. And be sure to note the author and artist as a lot of the fanarts have very similar names.

A bit of clarification.

Everybody (that can vote) has a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place vote for the fanart portion of the contest and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place vote for the fanfic part of the contest.

And the voting period is already halfway over so get on your sticks and start reading/looking at stuff.

Being on the internet, and more specifically, through a strictly written medium, it's a bit more difficult to instill the sense of spectacle that should accompany these sorts of award announcements.

Traditionally, there's a MC ... say, a well-known comedian ... to help loosen the mood a bit. And then they show clips from the nominees/contestants. You'll be happy to know that I'm sparing you the horrors of my joke-telling. And I don't have any media clips to show you either.

But don't worry, I can still do some stalling.

I'd like to thank all the participants.

I'd like to thank Sakura Blossoms for the idea and both her and Smiter for donating prizes and helping with logistics.

I'd like to thank everybody that voted. I thought that there were a lot of really great pieces and I wouldn't have wanted to be solely responsible for making the choices.

Im pretty happy with the results. There should be honorable mentions, but i guess all of them fit the title
