#950096 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by kirabook on 25 September 2017 - 11:54 PM

The problem I find with Burrito's dad is that he tarnished a cute hair style on Naruto.

CHIE was giving Naruto cute short hair cuts that were actually cute for years. It's not the short hair, it's the entire Burrito's dad getup that I don't like.

#949973 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by kirabook on 24 September 2017 - 08:29 PM

Well, let's debate this since Derock brought it up. Naruto's kids inheriting Kurama's power.

I believe Naruto's kids would not inherit any power from Kurama, which is why most of us Shinachiku/Hanami artists are careful not to include any. Naruto did not inherit anything from Kurama except whiskers and even larger chakra storage. It's not necessarily genetics either, it's because he spent 10 months with Kurama inside of Kushina. Naruto's children might have bigger chakra stores than normal, but actual Kurama power? Whiskers? I think not. (using whiskers is a lazy way to make his children look like him)

Naruto and Sakura's children would no doubt still be above average in power. They would be the equivalent of Tsunade who has a similar genetic makeup (1/4 Uzumaki with above average chakra stores for the same reason Naruto's children would have). I think Tsunade herself is a benchmark and proof of how powerful Naruto and Sakura's children could be and proof that they would not inherit whiskers or any direct power from Kurama

I know I know but you should know by now how is the NH fandom.

Yes I'm aware. Hence I'm not really talking to them and stating the facts in general. It's no wonder the manga went the route it did. Kishi intentionally writes something a certain way and 95% of the fandom goes in denial. Pfff. But ah well. It's whatevs.

Now they're going to intentionally write Burrito and Salad as NS/SNS and they will find all the parallel links acceptable since it's in their favor. Meh

P.S: I've already seen plenty of people blaming NS/SNS for how crappy things have become because we're "too critical" or "not true fans" for not supporting the series no matter what. Unfortunately for them, if something becomes crappy, I'm just not going to stick around. I'm not a "Naruto" fan and I haven't been in 3 years.

Kushina said "Find a girl like me." Not "Find a girl like your father". The parallel is pointless and contrived.

SAKURA thought of Naruto poorly just like KUSHINA thought of Minato poorly. SAKURA was bullied for her forehead and KUSHINA was bullied for her hair. Naruto complimented Sakura on the trait she disliked most (disguised as Sasuke) and Minato complimented Kushina on the trait she disliked most. NaruSaku and MinaKushi are intentionally written to be alike and Kishimoto admitted he did that on purpose for the purpose of a "red herring". All the purposely written parallels between these two couples are just that, purposeful and meant to trick all of his readers as Kishimoto put it.

Any similarities Hinata has with Minato are not only non-existant, but pointless from the very start. As I see it, certain people are desperate to tie the two together because the Kushina = Sakura is so completely undeniable unless you have a long stick shoved very far up your bottom. They can't compare Hinata to Kushina since they are nothing alike (But boy do some of them try with arguments such as... 'they both have long hair!'), so they desperately try to compare her to Minato.

They are in no way comparable. If so, anyone who ever thought poorly of Naruto at first can be called a Minato parallel. That includes all of Naruto's classmates, Sasuke, Gaara, the Sand Siblings, Ebisu, Konohamaru, and a host of other people who thought poorly of Naruto before changing their minds.

Naruto and Sakura would never end up how the Burrito anime/manga appears to be going. We've had years of them working as a team together and we know how they function. Naruto clearly enjoys hanging around Sakura and would not sleep in his office or on the couch. He has no reason to avoid going home. Shinachiku and Hanami are nothing like Burrito and Mop. Shinachiku's conflict with his father has nothing to do with Naruto being an absentee father because he isn't one.

Of all the futures Naruto could have, the boy who craved human contact and friendship is not going to be the guy avoiding his family at all costs just to create tension between him and his son because the writers were too uncreative to come up with something else.

We don't have to put up with that completely OOC depiction of Naruto (or Sakura) and I pretty much refuse to do so. This is why I stress that Naruto and Sakura of NaruSaku are simply not their canon iterations no matter how hard people try to claim they are. On tumblr right now, a fellow Shina artist is writing the cutest comic that perfectly illustrates Shina's reaction to his often busy (for an actual reason and not just drinking away in his office) parents.

So, why didn't they support NS last time, or at least acknowledge that the development exists?

Most people like NS simply because it was a natural and organic side effects of a good story telling. If it has never been developed, we probably wouldn't root for it.

Most of us have left the series (i.e. Not supporting financially anymore) when the last two final chapters were published. It's a one way ticket, whatever attempts to bring us back will never work.

Pretty much my thoughts.

I just don't understand the disconnect. When it's NaruSaku, it's not romantic and it's incest to even dare to think so.

When it's Burrito and Salad, it is most certainly romantic and in no way platonic or sibling like and we NaruSaku fans should therefore ship it because it's like NaruSaku.

You can't have it both ways. No matter how much they copy from NaruSaku and paste onto the Taco Bell kids, they will never be NaruSaku.

There's a push on tumblr right now from NH/SS fans to draw parallels between Burrito/Salad and NaruSaku. All these moments that were declared not romantic or development before are suddenly romantic and development for Burrito/Salad, therefore, we NaruSaku fans should be happy and ship them

My opinion on the whole topic is: I liked Naruto. I liked Sakura. I like NaruSaku. I'm not interested in fanservice that is meant to try and make me care again. If I asked for milk, I'm expecting milk, not spoiled curds stirred up a little bit to look like milk

#948814 NaruSaku: Parent / Teacher conference

Posted by kirabook on 13 September 2017 - 11:47 PM

Shinachiku is a grade B student.

Long ago on tumblr when presented with this idea, a lot of people suggested sometimes Shina ends up with bad grades because he wastes time doing things he's not supposed to be doing (studying slugs, sleeping in class, playing with his sibs) instead of studying. This puts him in between his super studious grade A mother and his always failing father. It's not that Shinachiku is stupid, he's just one of the kids that means to study, but gets distracted,

Naruto, our version of Naruto, would probably try to defend Shina from Sakura's rather. But even Naruto suggests Shina spends more time on his school work before fun. As Shina gets older, this is less of a problem and he maintains grades of B

#948642 What's Your Favorite Naruto Movie

Posted by kirabook on 11 September 2017 - 06:06 PM

I'm pretty sure Kishi said he made the animation team cry more than once during the process of making Road to Ninja. Some staff at SP obviously favored NS, but they were not in the majority. Just look at the animation quality of most of RtN compared to other Naruto movies.

Funny. In a way, the less effort into it makes most of it look like a typical Naruto episode rather than a non-canon movie that doesn't matter to the plot. It's around the time of Road to Ninja that SP pushed the idea for The Last to come about too. It was probably literally the stuff Kishi wanted before he handed everything over to their wishes

#948601 Civil War In America?

Posted by kirabook on 11 September 2017 - 03:47 AM

A full scale civil war like that of Syria or even our own Civil War is not going to happen imo. People talk big on the internet, but even at the protests (save the one where the woman was murdered by a literal Nazi), things have been.... well... more civil that I honestly expected.

If a civil war was ready to break out, things would be much worse and the protests we see would involve more than one person dying on one side.

I also feel that Republican politicians are finally realizing they can't keep spewing crazy stuff and expect their voters not to act on that kind of talk. Now that Trump says stupid stuff left and right, the Republicans have backtracked on a lot of their hateful speech they used to just spit out willy nilly prior to the election. It's interesting. Not that I think they're honest (the democrats either), but I'm hoping maybe one day Republican voters will finally see the light and see that they'll all just really crappy people

#948598 Civil War In America?

Posted by kirabook on 11 September 2017 - 03:15 AM

The parties did switch. It wasn't a max exodus, it was simply a political shift. Don't be mistaken, both parties back then contained an overwhelming amount of racists. At some point, the discussion became all about identity politics instead of economics.

The Republicans began the southern strategy, convincing many people of the south that they were poor and suffering because minorities and hippies wanted to keep them down and take their jobs.

In return the Democrats started trying to champion social issues, keeping many minorities in their party by fighting for equality and social justice.

The truth is, neither party really cares. They're literally all paid by the same people. The Republicans will use "white pride" and religion to keep people voting for them, and the Democrats will use social justice to try and keep people voting for them. At the same time, they will continue cutting the taxes on the wealthiest companies and people in this country and blame the consequences on the other party.

Obama didn't start racism and it won't end with him. I was in high school when Obama was running for president and I think we have a different version of what happened. There was an entire Republican birther movement (that still exists to this day) intently trying to prove that Obama wasn't born in the United States, that he was a Muslim radical, or that he was a plant by the Muslim Brotherhood. How do I know the democrats are full of kitten too? Because Hillary Clinton leaked an image of Obama in traditional African clothes and helped fuel the smear that he wasn't born here or an American citizen. Is it really all that surprising that people stopped taking criticism of Obama seriously?

I mean, there were so many LEGITIMATE things to criticize Obama for, but it's questionable why the Republicans never brought up these points eh?:

- Obama increased the drone program, killing the WRONG people 90% of the time

- Obama took Bush's 2 wars and turned it into 7 interventions

- Obama made Bush's tax cuts permanent, hurting the working class and poor tremendously, something we never recovered from

- Obama is praised for bringing back jobs, but they rarely mention all those jobs are low paying minimum wage jobs

- Obama did nothing to stop money in politics, he bathed in the corruption just like Hillary and Trump

I don't even like John McCain, but something I will always respect him for is taking the microphone away from this old lady who started spewing some crap about Obama being a Muslim

And the list goes on and on.

Listen, in today's climate, you gotta leave party politics behind. Focus on the issues ma dude. It's so much easier. Stop following party lines, you gotta dig through the mud and find the true leaders who actually care. Who aren't working for the same team and pretending not to.

I wasn't joking about people being hypnotized, tricked, and seduced by "white pride" or "white genocide" or how one team is out to get them. Unless you're mega rich, you're in the same ditch with everyone else, fighting over who deserves more breadcrumbs. Our politics are corrupt from top to bottom and all this mess involving race and whatnot is pointless. Yes, people who typically call themselves SJWs can be quite stupid, but if meeting a few of them online really makes you think, "Well, because this person is so strongly for this idea, that must mean the opposite is true!", then you're just too easily swayed and emotional.

#948584 What's Your Favorite Naruto Movie

Posted by kirabook on 11 September 2017 - 01:15 AM

Road to Ninja is the best movie in the entire franchise. My favorite (and exclusively too for a while) fanfiction was Naruto somehow ending up in a different universe where his parents were still alive. And they made a whole movie about it! Ah! I was so happy. Not only that, Sakura got dragged into the adventure with him and they both grew so much from the experience. Not only did I get massive amount of family feels (which is my favorite kind), but I also got a heap of NaruSaku???? Match made in heaven. Kishimoto mentioned Road to Ninja contained everything he didn't get to write and since the ending, I've always wondered what that meant.

Second, I really did love The Crescent Moon Kingdom. I used to really like when the kyuubi power made itself present in Naruto and that fight scene by the beach was just plain epic.

#948583 Civil War In America?

Most people label "white pride" as racist for various reasons. I'll name a few:

1. Some people think because there is black pride, there must also be a white pride. They seem to assume that black pride = black supremacy or that black people are better. That's not the point. The point of black pride is nothing being ashamed to be black. Once upon a time, it was very shameful to be black or to wear your natural hair and in some places in this world/country, it still is. Have pride in being brown, your brow skin does not make you lesser. Your black skin does not mean you're a bad person. Be proud to be who you are. BLM follows a similar message

2. Many people who partake in "white pride" believe that the white race is threatened by a genocide or something. When asked what genocide is going on, they don't describe the brutalization of white people, beheadings, murders, stake burning, mobs, etc etc. They say the genocide is the fact that white people are getting with non-white people and making mixed babies. Alrighty then

3. Lastly, a reason why people say white pride is racist is because they think people are after their "white culture" or don't want white people to have culture or whatever. That not what it is. People are not asking you to erase history. People don't care about the dances of your people, the traditional food you eat, the traditional clothing you may have. Etc etc. A racist flag doesn't have to be your culture. The worship of men who tried to succeed from the US doesn't have to be your culture. You don't have to protect racists and bigots because of your "culture". That's not your culture and if it is, there are so many more positive things you can do to celebrate your culture and literally no one would care. (I could go on a rant about how people should find out where they truly came from in Europe and celebrate their real culture since America is so young and many people don't really have an 'identity', but I digress. I wish I could find out where I truly came from in Africa, though I too have European heritage because of the terrible things that happened in US history)

Right now, I live in a rural area. No doubt all of these people voted for Trump. No doubt a lot of them are really rascist bigots. There's even an active KKK bar around here which makes me scared to go out at night. But I know a lot of people who think "white pride" should be a thing aren't racist bigots. They're confused and are easily convinced by the idea that they are being discriminated against. I just want to tell those people, you'll need to wake up soon. The nazis gained power in a similar way you know. They convinced and tricked normal everyday people into thinking a certain group of people were the ones who were hurting them or making life harder for them and by the time some of those people realized their mistakes, millions of innocent people were left dead.

They say history repeats itself, but I hope in this case, information being readily available will save lives. I don't think there will be a civil war and you can't determine that by how people voted.
