Well it didn't feel like any of the final arc was planned out, or maybe it was the original ending he had in mind went out of the window when the manga went on for longer than he originally planned.

 

Atleast he admits to it, he hasn't changed his answers multiple times, confused the fanbase, piss them off further by actually claiming it was the intended plan all along, or insult the fanbase by claiming certain elements tin the mangat had been present since the beginning were always just red herrings.

I got an autograph from him. My experience:

I dont know why but I went full fanboy mode and I am not even a fan. He was great. He was talking while sketching and asked why I chose Lucy. Thats when I went all intellect like a nerd. I explained the character, development, heroism and other things like I cant stop.

The sad part is when he was done I left with a thank you, only to find out he wasnt done. How embarrassing. He told me that I know his writing for her character all too well. Hand shakes and off I go.

Honestly, I have more respect towards the guy and how much fun he really shows. I recorded him sketching and you can hear me talking. Well Ill see him tomorrow at NYCC. Time to head home!

You just know NaLu's kid is going to get them in a whole load of trouble, she may look like Lucy with Natsu's hair, but it looks like her personality is all Natsu, where Gruvia's kid looks like Grey with Juvia's hair, but that gloomy look tells me he's more like his mother before she turned into a obsessive stalker.

Mashima revealed that he left the series open-ended because he has intentions to make a sequel, though not at the moment.  I'm honestly happy to hear about this and I trust that any sequel that Mashima creates will definitely trump the trainwreck that is Boruto.

Well there you go!!!!!! XD Se-quel!!!!!! Se-quel!!!!!!!   Well hew says he hopes it could happen, but I definitely don't want someone else writing the series

Mashima revealed that he left the series open-ended because he has intentions to make a sequel, though not at the moment.  I'm honestly happy to hear about this and I trust that any sequel that Mashima creates will definitely trump the trainwreck that is Boruto.

 

I really don't care for sequels, and honestly don't see the point of a FT sequel either, I don't have much hope in it if there is one, After the last quarter of the manga I think it's best to let the manga rest with the odd mini arcs. while I don't think it would be the train wreck Boruto is, but really don't see where a sequel would go, it's best to just work on a new story, and go back to his roots, and make a manga with a story that rivals Rave Master, with the relationships from Fairy Tails, not the disaster as far as story went that was Fairy Tails latter half.

If anything, it's more reasonable to expect a short omake featuring the next gen kids before he moves onto his new work. He did a short omake introducing Haru and Elie's son, if I recall.

Well I on the other hand would LIKE a sequel, but it honestly wouldn't matter either way yeah. I just think that a short sequel with Finding Aquarius' key and something else would be nice

Yeah small arcs like this would be good, to see moments like when Natsu finally confesses, when Juvia drugs Grey and gets married to him in Vegas, when Erza gets too drunk, goes wild and wakes up married to Jellal...you know the usual stuff as far as this manga is concerned. Also as Phantom said a mini arc to search for Aquarius's key would be cool, maybe we'll see all the other relationships tied up in that arc as well.

 

I'm talking a full on sequel like Boruto, I don't care for that, specially as it felt like the manga was all over the place after the time skip, and felt like it was being stretched out just to keep th manga going.

Hmm, I actually look forward to Mashima's next work because well while I loved Fairy Tail overall the ending was....underwelming. Not the worst manga ending I've seen mind you and definitely better than some others, *cough cough Naruto and Bleach cough cough* but I didnot feel much closure with the ending we got either. But anyway I look forward to his next work And I might even pick up Rave Master too
