Oooo well that sux. D: i just saw the trailer (/lol late) and it looks niiiice. too bad that they had to cancel everything after getting so far. Though, i'm pretty sure that Fox just wants to get their foot in the door before they let them start things up from where they left off-- they see this as a huge opportunity and they just want a slice of the money pie, me thinks.

and they can't be heartless! they've seen all the work the production team has put in and such, i have a good feeling that they'll give rights then allow it to continue. XD

I've said it before Fox would rather kill the movie than make any kind of profit off of it.

That's stupid and doesn't make any sense. Fox is a business. If there's a way for them to make money, they'll take it.

facepalm.png It turns out this lawsuit may not be about about Watchmen at all Fox wants the rights to distribute the 60s Batman TV series on DVD....

After looking over the roller coaster ride that was this post I have only one thing to say:

Sakura Blossoms for 08'

Girl I have to give it up. :notworthy:

Well as far as I know a studio can't legally block a movie from being released so 20th Century Fox will probably just become a co-distributer with WB and Paramount and get a chunk of the Box Office numbers.

Well now that the trial is over let's talk about the film itself, it's gonna kick ass! I've been waiting a decade for this movie and I hope it doesn't disappoint! wow.png

While I waited for this movie as well Ed, I don't share your enthusiasm.

Yes, when I first saw the trailer I was going "OH SNAP" as well, but considering the Director's first adeption to a comic book (300) and a few other things that I saw about the movie that ticked me the wrong. right now I see it as a reguler summer movie with cool effects.

They're only showing the special effects stuff in the trailers to try to get people that don't know about the novel, it's a marketing ploy.

Of course, it does. I don't think there is anything wrong or illegal about it. Why do you think each acquired a license to produce it?

Well the special effects in the trailer weren't that much. Only things that really popped out was the comedian getting tossed out the window in slow-mo, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre busting Rorschach out of jail and of course Dr Manhattan himself.

I wonder how people will take what happens in the end though.

If the 2 and 1/2 hour studio cut does well (like say $200-250 million) there are plans to release Snyder's 3 and 1/2 hour cut in the Summer and in the fall they are gonna release an "Ultimate" edition of the film on DVD that will have the Black Freighter interlaced into the film which will make it almost 4 hours long.

Saw it last night. Good movie overall but it was too freakin' long! Two hours and 45 minutes? I can't watch a movie for that long. Rorschach owns!
Spock it, lock it, rocket, explode it, reload it.
