I was reading Fanfiction today, and I realized a few things that made me tear up. I'm at the point that I still refuse to accept how Naruto ended. Was so disappointed at the ending that I realized that I missed a few things. Was so heartbroken at how NaruSaku ended that I failed to see what the ending is all about.

It marks the ending story of a boy I grew up with, a boy who was hated and hurt by his own village, believed by few and hated by many. A boy who seeks love and attention and just wants to reach his dream, for people to recognize him as a human being, a boy whose childhood is filled with sorrow and sadness only to grow up and be the energetic and loving person that he is.

We all watched him grow up, to fail the exam , on how he grew as a genin, how he affected everyone he meets, how he slowly proves to everyone that he is strong, From the early genin days, to his travels with Jiraiya , to his growing friendship with the girl he loves. We all watched him fight Pain and completely gain the recognition of Konoha. We saw him struggle to get stronger, to get back Sasuke, to his fight with Madara and Kaguya.

It's funny that SP made a filler episode that perfectly pictures Naruto's Undying love for Sakura. I remember him telling the Shizuka of the Nadeshiko Village . That he loves Sakura but will let her go if thats what makes her happy. (Don't know the exact qoute.) and in the end thats what he did.

I completely ignored the fact that Naruto is finally hokage , that small brat who is totally uncool back then is freakin Hokage. and although I am not happy how things ended, I just cant help but smile,

Finally just wanted to say, Naruto bro, You've reached your dream.

Til' we meet again. See ya

(Don't mind me much,. its 2 AM, in the middle of my 3rd 16 hour shift that i've decided to write this, Sorry about my poor writing skills, i barely write anything this long . haha, Forgive me everyone :twitch: )

It's nice that you found this kind of resolution...I just feel empty about Naruto being hokage and this is not even due to a specific pairing or anything, for me it has to do with how the story itself developed in the end

That makes sense since the show is about Naruto after all. Him becoming Hokage was kind of expected. It's nice to see him achieve his life long dream, but to pair him up with Hinata was just wrong and OOC for Naruto. It's like pairing him up with Tenten, wtf right? That killed it for me.

Yes, I do feel empty inside as well, because im like:

Where is the Naruto who is the loving and energatic hokage i'm looking forward to? Who despite his position is still the bright sunny ball of energy we love? Who still goofs of from time to time?

Where is the Sakura who is the strong ninja she grew up to be ? The Chief Medical advisor and head of the hospital? The next Tsunade? Who grew out of her shell and stopped being a fangirl at least.

Where is the Sasuke who despite all his mistakes and has repented by devoting his life to konoha or at least best buds with naruto?

I feel the same way. It's not even about the pairing. It's like all the things from part one that made us love Naruto were cast aside. It still makes me sad sometimes.

Very true words :) This is a really nice post - it made me smile >.< I'm glad Naruto got that happy ending in the end, too.

Why do people NOT ship these two? I just don't get it.

Probably cause they hate Sakura. When she's probably the most developed female character in the whole show.

I respect Hinata, but Sakura deserves some too.

Hmm, I'm at the point where I accept that Naruto has ended, and that Kishimoto/Pierrot/Jump have made their decision.  But I also cannot accept the way it was ended, mainly because it threw out 15 years of development and made the main characters go OOC.  Sure, Naruto became Hokage, but he's also not the Naruto we knew and loved.  Sakura, well, she had her development reset.  And, as far as I know, there's still no explanation for how Sasuke and Sakura got together.

It also doesn't help that Studio Pierrot keeps trying to retcon the manga in order to justify the New Era Project.  It's a real mess these days.

I'll always fondly remember Part One and Shippuden, and the way the characters were.  It's just sad to see what it has become in the end.  That's the reason I no longer follow Kishimoto;  he just got rid of his hard work and basically lied to the fans about NaruSaku being a "red herring" (contradicting his earlier interviews and 15 years of manga/databook/interview material).  I just can't support a guy who treats his own story and fans in that manner.

But, at least we have fanon!  It's been incredible to see how the NaruSaku community has banded together to create their own alternative universe, and some of the art and stories are great.

Naruto still lives on in its fans.

And here I am siding with the group that despised the Naruto series from day one...

Just kidding, but in all rational who would have guess they were partially right in their criticism? Then again the crack theory of Tobi = Obito was true as well so I guess it shouldn't be that hard to comprehend where this was all going. This is why rushing to complete something is never EVER a good idea, if Kishimoto had serious plans to strictly end it at 700, then he shouldn't have wasted so much time getting to the Naruto vs Sasuke battle, instead of getting a great climatic battle with each of them at their prime and in tip top shape, we got a mixed bag of a**pulls and two fighters who ultimately were exhausted from previous battles. And while I did enjoy what little of the "final" battle we got, I can't help but think 4-5 chapters did it no justice, nor did it truly feel like Naruto accomplished his goal, he didn't exactly change Sasuke's perspective, the Sauce just out of the blue changed his "strong" ideals on the brink of death because....why not. And having said that, well that pretty much sums up how forceful and quite frankly unappealing the final chapter was... it was lifeless, nothing was shown to make me believe it was the same characters we knew.

I guess when I reflect on Naruto, I sorta get depressed of thinking of what it once was before it all came crashing to an abrupt end
