Speaking of volume, the behemoth One Piece newest volume has 3.8 million printed, so let's see how far they can go this time.

You gotta be kidding.

@redrose
I think true failure for naruto gaiden happen when it only sell for 200 - 300 thousands.
If I'm not mistaken, the last volume sell 800 thousand in the first week.

It did. It made it 1 million by second week. After like 3 months later, we learned it stopped at 1.2 million, which means all is taken care of. You expect to keep going up, but it didn't. It was going like 4 digit sell for remaining weeks. We all saw AoT get it over quickly.

Anyway, it's all up to the advertisements. Boruto is really pushing it a lot. So be aware of it.

Again, why the kitten is he leaving after disapearing for 12 years? For all you know this dude can be sleeping with so many different women, while Sakura takes care of his child. That head poke literally makes you forget all the wrong doings of a person, dafuq.

Hey, who knows, maybe you're right and the poke was secretly retconned to be a memory wiping Uchiha jutsu. Anything would make sense by now.   :zaru:

Wow that is absolutely pathetic after 3 months it only sold 200 thousand copies.

You're right it's all up to advertisements now. But no matter how much advertising you make, you can't sell a broken product.

Anyway we'll see if people really love gaiden and burrito later on.

Sigh. This series has really gone to kittene.

This spin off ended with illegal experiments being sent to live in Konoha with Kabuto as their guardian. Orochimaru goes unchecked and unpunished for creating Shin, Naruto goes on ignored and treated like the secondary character he's always been compared to Sasuke, and finally the SS family goes back to the way it was, with the only difference being Salad decided to suck up the fact that her dad would rather be hundreds of miles away from her and her mother, than be her father.

There's a lot of negatives that I didn't get to talk about in my review. I'll post it up very soon. Just got it done. I didn't talk about my thoughts on the next movie. Maybe I'll save that for podcast next week.

I've been thinking about the whole DNA test explanation that was given to us. Like I said in my rant I knew that Kishi was going to give us some stupid explanation that makes Salad; Sakura's daughter. But I never knew it would be this stupid.

Now I don't really know how to explain this correctly in English so I'm going to give a really brief explanation about how kids are made.

And I'm not talking about the part where a man and woman .... I'm referring to the science part of it.

In school I've learned this in a class called Biology, I have no idea if that's valid for the rest of the world.

Again since I don't really know how to explain it in English, I'm just going to give you a really brief explanation. Maybe you already know this but if you don't then I suggest searching on Google or to ask someone that knows this.

This is how genetics work. If one of your parents has problems with their sight then there's a possibility that you're going to have it as well. If not at a young age then later on. If both of your parents have no problems with their sight but one of your grandparents has problems with their sight. Then there's a slight possibility that you're going to inherit that, even though it's something from your grandparents.

It's just how it works, it's genetics no one can escape it. It's science.

Now let's remind ourselves does Sakura have problems with her eyes? No.

Does Sasuke have problems with his eyes? No. (Yes he has his Sharingan but that's a different story)

Did Sasuke's parents have problems with their sight? No.

Did Sakura's parents have problems with their sight? No.

So scientifically speaking Sasuke and Sakura's kid shouldn't have any reason to were glasses or any of her other traits. Because scientifically speaking it's not possible. Salad scientifically can't be Sakura's and Sasuke's kid. It's just not possible. And this is not me running my mouth like an idiot, this is science.

It's genetics, it's how it works.

But hey forget what I just said because you know the author says it's "canon" and we must always go by "canon" right? Right...

I like to see growth and development in characters. I like to see them learning and changing and maturing. But has anyone done that in Naruto? The characters in Gaiden are pretty much the same as they've always been.

Sasuke: Still a jerk. Still the real protagonist of the entire series. Still using pick-up artist crap and negging Sakura like crazy. Still cares about no one.

Naruto: Still (I think) holds great affection for Sakura. Still living in Sasuke's shadow. Still lacks a spine.

Sakura: Still occasionally does something cool. Still a pathetic, lovestruck idiot who always comes across as looking worse when around Sasuke.

Good work, Kishi.

And SP already destroyed a lot of trust in the advertising after the stunts they pulled with The Last, so I'm sure, or hope at least, that most of the fandom isn't fooled a second time.

I'm not. I think it's a sign of how little he cares for that pairing. Hinata was a side character elevated to a plot device to get people to see a movie. After her usefulness had been served, she's put back in her side-character box.

In all my years of reading, I don't think I've ever encountered another character as boring, useless, and so entirely devoid of personality or actual bearing upon a story and yet still managed to completely ruin it.

I mean, I never understood how any fan -- much less so many of them -- could put such a detestable character on a gilded pedestal, but it's considerably more boggling that a studio, a publisher, and a bunch of grown men would as well.  Men who are supposedly "artists" and "storytellers."   It's truly astonishing.

Because Sasuke was Kishimoto's favorite.

That's not only a shame, for me personally it's impossible to understand.

This is the takeaway from the whole series: There was no resolution to the triangle. The wrong couples got married, settling for relationships that didn't make the main hero and heroine better people, but that satisfied the desire of the author (through Sasuke) and the fandom (through Hinata). But the old feelings are still there. How do we know? Because Kishimoto tells us they are, through Naruto's speech about deep down feelings being stronger than facts.

You distilled virtually everything that is ugly and wrong about what's happened into one paragraph.

I miss Naruto so much.  I think back to all his great moments earlier in the story and it breaks my heart.  His determination, the courageous heart he always wore on his sleeve, his dedication to what he believed was right, his righteous condemnation of those who were in the wrong, how he longed for a family, and the deep love he held for his village, his friends, and for his Sakura-chan.

You know, it's just not fair.  Not to Naruto, and not to all the readers who always had his back.

Sigh.

I loved that kid, and that's how I want to remember him -- not as the hollow caricature he has become.

This sums up how I feel so much. And the more I think about it, the more I realize that this Naruto disappeared a long, long time ago.

It really is sad when you realize that nothing will ever be changed and Kishi is going to live his life without guilt, even though its likely he accepted some sort of bribe. If only this Manga had ended open ended.

I didn't mind Obirin, but it too suffered a bit in my eyes from that flaw of the women only caring about their own feelings, not that of the other. The only ship that was actually a ship between two people that fully cared for each other was MinaKushi.

Yeah, that is true in a lot of ways, but really, I think Rin may have known Obito loved her, even if it didn't seem it til Kakashi told her and how in the long run, he disavowed her confession because of how he was willing to abandon her and felt like scum for it.

@bryion
Rin is as clueless as sakura about the fool love toward them.
I expect sasuke will said that to sakura like kakashi reject rin. Because what sasuke do to sakura is far worse than kakashi to rin.

@raito
If naruto end in part 1, it gonna be open ending.
But since kishi put great emphasize to generation thing, having pairing of current generation to produce next gen is inevitable.

@kns
Tbh I can see why Hinata & nh fan love her.

Understanding the mind of a Hinata fan is not really that difficult.

There are only two categorizes that her fans fall into. Either they relate to her because they see themselves in her. They like someone and they can't or haven't had the opportunity to tell that person how they feel or think they feel. This is valid of both her female fanbase and her male fanbase.

And the other category are just the males, especially teenage boys that view women as a sex object. Because that's really what Hinata is a sex object. Or more accurately a sex doll. That has just two jobs to give you pleasure and the second one to cook. That's it.

And really that's what they see in Hinata, a sex doll that you can treat however you want and ignore her and when you need to do your business; you basically switch her on just like a sex doll and after you're finished you can switch her off. You don't need to listen to her, or take her on dates, she doesn't nag you, you don't need to spend time with her or buy her anything.

She just does what you tell her to and she'll never say no.

I'm sorry but that's really the truth.
