Pierrot and Jump tried to intervene in Bleach, but Kubo fought with everyone and went ahead with the ships he wanted, even though they weren't the most popular ones. I would have been satisfied if Ichigo ended up with Rukia or Orihime, but I found his attitude incredible because he followed what he had planned instead of what the fans wanted. I may not agree with the author's choice, but I prefer him to do what he planned instead of catering to the fans' desires. On the other hand, Kishimoto chose to cater to the fans' and Pierrot's wishes and ended up destroying the work.

 

For you to believe that editors don't give advice regarding manga couples, you just need to look for old interviews of Akira, where he said that his first editor and current chief at Jump wanted Goku to end up with Bulma... Oda must be following the same path. Fans don't want him to make Luna happen, but he will do it in the end just because he wants to. That's something I admire much more than him doing what the fans desire.

Honestly, I think Naruto ended being a giant self-insert for Kishimoto. His self-insert is basically Sasuke and one of the reasons Sakura ended up with Sasuke was because Sakura is like his wife and him like Sasuke.. Sasuke leaving the village for extended periods of time while Sakura is home with the kid kinda mirrors his own life aka him being at work all the time and never got to go on his honeymoon or spend quaility time with his wife. So having Sakura get together with Naruto would be like his wife getting with another man. So his thing about Sakura being a horrible person if she moved on from Sakura was parrelleling his own life because if his wife left him because of his hectic work life she would be horrible.

 

I can GO ON about this but I feel like Kishimoto GOT Lucky with this series.

 

I totally disagree with this statement. I think Naruto resembles Kishimoto much more in this aspect. Everything he dreamed of about his life as a Mangaka was shattered when he became one and saw the responsibilities involved, just like what happened to Naruto when he became Hokage and had to work constantly, unable to spend enough time with his children. The frustrating ending of Naruto may be a way for Kishimoto to vent his own frustration as well.

The "rivalry" line from the Last always struck me as very odd because it answered a question (in a very poor way) that really didn't need to be answered at the time.

 

NaruSaku was already 6 feet under at the time and all it accomplished was making Naruto look petty and puts all their interactions in the manga in a worse light. 

 

It was a throwaway line that was never brought up again, so why even bring it up to begin with?

The reason is that, they didn't like the idea that Naruto loved someone before Hinata and she was his second choice. She should be his first and only choice, in their minds. His first love. His only love. His true love. Bound by Red Scarf of Fate.

 

But, the problem with that is, all you have to do is the read the manga. And, the introductory chapter for both Sakura and Sasuke is that he has a crush on Sakura. A crush that more or less continues until the end of the manga. For about 696 chapters. So, again, they don't want that. They want to erase that fact. So they came up with something that they felt would convince the viewers that Naruto never had any feeling for her, because it was just part of his rivalry with Sasuke. Also helps with SS, as it implies Sasuke always had feelings for her.

 

Of course, they didn't think about how bad and scummy it was that. One) Naruto was playing with her feeling for so long, two) he can bold face lie about being in love with someone that everyone believes it for years except he never had any feeling for her what-so-ever (if he can lie about that what else can he be lying about,) and three) apparently, he somehow knew that Sasuke always deeply loved her and was constantly playing the third wheel just to be a jackass. This among others destroyed Naruto's reputation and labeled him, "The Worst Scumbag," in Japan, after they saw The Last. Of course, the staff didn't think of this because all they cared about was Naruto never having feeling for Sakura.

I agree that if Ichigo ended up with Rukia, it could have affected Orihime and Renji's story. However, my argument is that most fans wanted him to end up with Rukia, which would probably have brought more profit to Jump and Pierrot if it happened since it would cater to the majority's desire. Nevertheless, the author decided to follow his own vision and chose the path he deemed best for the narrative.

 

Kazuhiko Torishima, the first editor of Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball), wanted Goku to end up with Bulma, but Akira chose to have him end up with Chi-Chi, even though he didn't like her because she was challenging to draw. Thus, the decision to have Goku end up with Chi-Chi might have been a way to impose an artistic challenge and even a form of self-discipline. As for the creation of Trunks, it was an idea from another editor who wanted to attract a female audience by adding a handsome character to Dragon Ball.

Definitely, and I think it's also especially telling when you look at the way HachiAnn (Hachimaru x Ann) was being built up in Samurai 8, and how they parallel off of NaruSaku in more occasions than one too. Especially when it pertains to the way certain scenes are paneled out in the manga.

Good observation. Those panels look almost traced directly from iconic manga panels.

At that stage, I wouldnt say narusaku was six feet under, only strangely sidelined. The movie author had to really kill it, considering so much of the manga hammered in the fact that Naruto really loves Sakura.

That particular plot-point in The Last was not only lazy writing, but it also made Naruto look like scumbag. I mean, really? Lie about your feelings and worse, for rivalry? Even though your rival couldnt give a damn about her?

The only thing it would accomplish was to make Sakura look a bit better for rejecting Naruto for many years. Oh, and ofcourse, fits the narrative that Hinata was always The One and Only True Love.

Oh, so I was right. The game with have a regular story mode depicting the events of the manga, the fifth great ninja war is the special plot; the one with the Boruto's female player character. So Therece was almost completely wrong.

 

Apparently, there are rumors of Itachi coming back.

I don't even understand why they bother acting indignant anymore.  They've seen for themselves throughout Boruto that Naruto sparsely shows consideration towards his children or any attraction towards Hinata.  Hell, he even called her out as a idiot for being more concerned about him being danger than their freakin' children.

They think if they act indignant & offended that the companies will have to appease them. It always worked for them before for western media. Problem is, those companies have learned of their worth. They have had nearly ten years to show how they would financially support Hinata, and haven't. Which is why the companies seem to be moving away from Hinata and going back to Sakura. 

 

They try to ignore dismiss justify or make excuses for the fact that Naruto doesn't seem that happily married to Hinata. They hate to be reminded of the fact that Naruto once had feeling for Sakura. To them, Naruto should only love Hinata, ever.

The problem is they still think Hinata is the best girl that was ever created. Obedient and submissive to the male Hinata fan, this is their dream girl because it means they will never have to put all that much work into the relationship.
 
Look at whats her face's birthday did Hinata yell at Naruto? No, she did nothing, and the fans loved that, but if that were Sakura, they would have called Sakura a kitten as he is working so hard. Nothing new the Hinata/nH fans have always had the whole double standards when it came to Sakura, always giving her a hard time, but if Hinata did something bad or recklessly stupid, then she would get a free pass in the whole thing.
 
I mean, do you guys remember the whole deal with Sakura trying to stab Obito's Rinnegan and fans going at her for failing? But if this were Hinata, they would say something along the lines. "Oh, it's not Hinata's fault. Madara is just to hax."
 
The fact is, even after getting the ending they wanted, they still see Sakura as a threat is both sad and funny cause we are living rent-free in their heads; many know their ending was BS, and some think NS should have become canon, others are just that crazy that they think NH was planned from the start. Sadly I think we are always going to get this with the crazy nH fans thinking this, but as I said, we are still living rent-free in their heads, and this drives them crazy.
