QUOTE (StriderC @ Mar 27 2013, 06:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm just gonna respond to the part that was addressed to me. biggrin.gif

1. I'm well aware that medical ninjutsu isn't a bad thing for characters. I've never said that. I said I feel that she's MORE than just a medical ninja and she's proven this as well.

I know you never said that but it's implied when you make it sound like being a medic is nothing spectacular when it is(you even say below that if she does nothing but heal you'll be disappointed). And it's funny because when 617 happened so many were upset that Sakura DIDN'T heal for once. She does have more skills than most of the medics but she primarily identifies herself as a medical ninja which again isn't a bad thing.

QUOTE
2. It's definitely impressive that she's a teenager but look at all the other teens. Particularly Naruto and Sasuke.

What other teens are you comparing her too that she comes out looking WORSE O_o? In the third databook Sakura has the second highest score out of all the Konoha 11 only being beaten by Neji by one point. If they all have been getting getting stronger since then then it stands to reason that Sakura has stayed the second strongest(well strongest now) unless told otherwise. Besides while the skills they specialize in have been said to be great as clan heirs, it's Sakura who has caught the attention of several powerful people(Tsunade and Sasori being great examples).

As for Naruto and Sasuke so what if they could destroy the world with what they've got? Sakura can crumble mountains easily and she's greater at strategy than both of them. Also why should their abilities be used to down play Sakura's abilities? She could still stand with them as a part of Team 7.

QUOTE
3. Did she figure out how to beat the Zetsu? I don't even remember at this point tbh...

Sorry I meant she figured out the Zetsu's ability to impersonate others.

QUOTE
4. Again, I'm not knocking her medical ninjutsu. I'm saying she's MORE than that. He gave her a fight at the start of Part 2, and she did extremely well. She was a medical ninja that healed, AND fought. I don't understand why people feel she should only do one. I want to see both because I've seen what she can do and I believe she'll once again prove her worth as a fighter again just as she has as a healer.

I'm sorry but your posts just make it sound like you are so disappointed that most of the time she heals. Even if you are not that's what it comes across as...(and then you say it haha)And I don't see how making post after post about this matter will make it happen quicker(it's not just you who does this tho). I mean she kicked the ass of that clone in one blow and looked fierce doing it.

But we have looked away now so instead of wishing to see something that you in fact saw less than 100 chapters ago why not just speculate about something else for once? Like her strategy skill? I've yet to see anyone talk about how Sakura can outwit her next opponent. Let me just say that connecting to the above point, I'm SURE she can outwit Sasuke, who hasn't shown a LICK of genius since Part 1.

QUOTE
5. Wow... Who is she abandoning? You act as though I don't acknowledge the skill set she does has. It's like I can't want more for her character, and I should just accept what's handed to me from Kishimoto when he's the one who built her character up. He's the one who had fight in the Forest of Death, Sasori Fight, etc. I look at all she's done and I weigh it out. She's not just a medical nin. She's more than that, and I believe we'll see her do more than just heal when she finally comes back into the manga, and if she doesn't I'll be disappointed...

The people she's healing. She healed Kakashi but soon enough more and more people got injured. She can't just leave them on the ground in pain to bust out some kick ass fighting skills against the Juubi like you wanted her too. Of course now that Naruto has given everyone a boost maybe she can now! I see that you do acknowledge it but again, it looks like you don't like it or something. Seriously I didn't mention this but your comment that if all she does is heal she'll be just like Rin, makes it sound like medical ninjas are a tier below the fighters.

Tsunade's whole backstory was proving how false this was and the message is continued even now with Team Hawk(KARIN was Sasuke's most valuable member. Not Suigestu or Juugo) and of course with Sakura(as people have needed her far more than they have needed anyone else other than Naruto). Bottom line, being a medic nin is the BEST for Sakura not only because it separates her from the average fighters(Hinata's a great fighter...oh wait so is Neji. Oh wait so is InoShikaCho. Oh wait so is Tenten and Lee. Sakura is a great medic...oh wait so is....never mind ;P) but because it also helps her role as heroine.

Sakura is literally the most important character behind Naruto and Sasuke when thinking of their skills. Because each of their skills have been NEEDED or DESIRED by others.

I get wanting more but it doesn't look like you appreciate what she already has going for her. You(and others) express disappointment in Kishimoto for not showing as this girl who fights a lot when what he does portray her is actually great and beneficial for her role as heroine.

And you know, if we go by track record SASUKE is the worst fighter of the three as of part 2. He has never been in a fight that he won...without an asspull or some circumstance beyond his control(except maybe his fight with Danzo?) and although she hesistated at the very last second Sasuke's surprise showed that had she not done so, Sakura would've easily stabbed him in the back and killed him with that poison.

She's never lost a 1-on-1 battle either. Even her fight with Ino way back when was a tie. So Kishimoto has done his part in showing that she is an excellent fighter.

QUOTE
Anyway, I still feel as though Kishi doesn't focus on his heroine enough. It's cool that it seems that you're fine with how things have been up until now, but I'm obviously not. He could have done a lot better handling her in the war, and in general.

Not 'seems' I AM fine because I see plenty of things to be happy about. Sakura has gotten important roles handed to her and she still sits comfortably in her seat as heroine because of those roles. So you say but what would you suggest? Like maybe as she's traveling to the medic's tent she comes across Chiyo and then fights her off until help arrives and seals her away? But then oops 20 people just died sad.gif. Then she gets to the medic tents and is yelled at for being late *shakes head*.

EDIT: And guilt weighs on her mind and the fandom calls her useless again tongue.gif.

EDIT2: As an added thought, I think the reason she didn't fight Chiyo is because there was nothing between them to resolve. They already had their bonding moment before Chiyo died. Contrast Zabuza and Haku, who didn't stay alive long enough to hear how much Team 7 appreciated them for what they've taught them.

Sakura was a great solider she fulfilled HER DUTY in that part of the war. As for in general...well I hope I covered that above!

EDIT: I am really, really sorry for posting this and I feel kind of bad now because I see things have gotten a little happier since I started writing this post sad.gif. But I still stand by what I say.

QUOTE (Codus N @ Mar 27 2013, 04:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The problem is, Hinata did something what Sakura never did or rather, should have done. Bring back Naruto from one of his darkest moments. And as for 617, I'm not focusing on how she fixed Naruto's shoulder and all that, I was focusing on the fact it followed up 615, where she was able to help Naruto in a MAJOR way. And oh, need I mention that healing Naruto is supposed to be Sakura's thing?? come 617, and here we are, we get a moment where she contributes to the hero in a big way. She did something what Sakura usually does best at.

And all this for her development?? facepalm.png

This is supposed to be one of the biggest moments in the manga, the heroine should be actively taking part in it, not just sit back in the damn kitchen. FMA was different, because it was strictly laid out that Winry's job is on the sidelines. But this can't be applied here because Sakura does have potential combat ability. Kishi should be putting that to good use.

1) No. Hinata did NOT do what Sakura should've done. Hinata did exactly as her character entails. Hinata's character from the beginning has been about being inspired by Naruto. It makes sense that now she gets to do the inspiring. Had Sakura been there in that moment then Kishimoto would just later on give her another moment to shine. No matter which way you cut it that was NOT meant for Sakura, it was meant for Hinata.

2) 'one of his darkest moments'...But not thee darkest eh? Naruto's going to have his doubts. It's what makes him human. And in those doubts as contrast to his horrible past before he's going to have friends come up and reassure him. Plenty of other times he has had down moments other characters stepped up to the plate and brought him out of it. But now that Hinata has done it suddenly it's 'OH NO SAKURA SHOULD'VE BEEN THERE!'

3) Healing Naruto is KURAMA'S thing. And how many times has it been stated that popping a dislocated shoulder back into place isn't something that takes years of medical training to learn?

4) Yes it's for her development.

5) The ten-tails is not the final boss, Sasuke is. THe ten tails is like a boss level before the final boss. This will not be Naruto's darkest moments because Naruto has no emotional investment in the 10-tails, Madara or Obito. however he does have emotion investment in Sasuke. it stands to reason that preparing for his fight with Sasuke(because YES there will be a preparing period/maybe arc and you can expect Sakura to show up) will have more emotional turmoil and Sakura will have to be by his side

6) One of the biggest moments in the manga...in a volume dedicated for the side characters. Notice how Kakashi and Sai also got no focus since the alliance showed up.

Not to sound mean here or anything but don't you think you are making a mistake here by assuming the manga will be over in a like 5 chapters or something?

And I really don't understand you that much. I've seen you make many(like MANY) statements saying 'such and such manga did this better' and 'I don't really care about Naruto anymore' and yet here you are. I think you care more than you are willing to admit honestly. And it seems liek your new role here is to constantly(CONSTANTLY) compare Naruto to (finished) manga written by more experienced authors. Do you want him to plagiarize or something? Write the same thing we've already seen over(and over) and possibly get flak for it? And for someone who jumps on others for being close-minded you don't listen to others very well yourself...

QUOTE
This! Sakura's not just a medical ninja like many people make her out to be. If that were the case, she'd be solely like Rin. I don't even think Rin fought. A lot of medical ninja don't fight but Sakura does fight, and she's damn good at it so to expect her to just heal is ridiculous to me when her personality doesn't even suit it completely. She has superhuman strength for a reason, and we've seen her capabilities in a real battle already. She was able to hold her own, offer splendid assist, and in the end she was one of the main reasons why she and Chiyo lived in the Sasori fight. He needs to do better by her instead of focusing so much on his secondary character. I have no problem with Hinata, but she's gotten wayyyyy too much panel time in this war... And she's been spamming jutsu like mad. LMAO.

Her medic skills are not a bad thing for her characters.

Face it Sakura was SO good at being a healer, they called for her off of the freaking battlefield despite having medics from ALL of the countries who, as you said, have no battle skills.

Think about it.

Medics solely trained to do medic work could not handle the injured people from the war.

THey HAD to call in Sakura who has multiple skills to come help them. THAT'S how great she is. THAT'S how important and crucial she is.

To make things better she's a teenager working with adults. Medics and everyone needs her just like how everyone needs Naruto to fight in the war.

She also figured out how to defeat the Zetsu. Kishimoto could've EASILY had SHikamaru figure it out or one of the generals or Shizune even. But no it was the 16-17 year old GENIUS who figured out how to stop the invasion. THAT'S amazing!

Said super strength is the result of perfect chakra control which is good for many things including medics. Becoming a medic does fit her personality if you think about her character development. Sakura wants to be helpful. And she is. Have you ever heard about someone dying under her care? Have you EVER heard about her failures as a medic?

She may be a hot tempered person but she did not train under Tsunade just to learn how to fight. She wanted to learn how to be helpful, how to use her chakra control to the best of it's ability. And you know what? She did! She is also smart enough to know when to use which skills when. I hope you don't honestly think she'll abandon someone in need just to fight because that's what it sounds like(it's a WAR meaning plenty of people are getting hurt which means her medic skills are needed.) As for the unused genjutsu potential well now she has something else she can work on for the rest of her life. Do you ever hear bad things about her combat skills either?

This is gonna be my first and only time debating this. I know that normally no one normally pays attention to me here but seriously all complaining(and complaining and complaining) and hypocrisy(dear GOD the HYPOCRISY!) and of course, attacking others for the crime of having a different opinion(yes I've been attacked before for this reason on here) has turned me off from this site. I used to be excited coming here but now...nope. I still love Naruto and NaruSaku with all my heart so yeah this place isn't fun(sorry to say).

Sakura did wear a a little make-up in the beginning actually. She even wore green nailpolish.

I can find more examples(one that comes to mind is part1 Sakura leaning on Naruto's back) if needed.

But yeah Sakura used to wear a little make-up like green eyeshadow, pink lip gloss, etc. But I don't think Kishimoto has drawn her with make up lately.

Also(don't care if it's off topic):

QUOTE
Im starting to see im alone in this. First of all you said it not me. I didnt even imply it. And yes its my preference. And nailpolish is only a turnoff when it comes to dating (never had a gf or a date.). But however I do resent that you would imply that im shallow. I am probably one of the deepest people you would know if you actually knew me. I like the same girl for 9 out of my 16 years and I play with peoples minds like its childsplay(i like psychology). And from that experience i have gathered observing different types of people. Overuse of cosmetics is caused either by a decresed level of selfesteem, social influence or in rare cases increased levels of selfesteem.

That is NOT how psychology works. It does not enable you to 'play with people's minds' like a fiddle. If you truly understood psychology then you'd know that each and every person is different. Yeah there are things that connect us all but NOTHING is 100% guaranteed(and that's a general science thing. It definitely applies to the human brain) and you ALWAYS have to be aware that each people thinks and/or reacts differently.

In order to 'manipulate' people you'd have to be charismatic. And even then you can't truly manipulate everyone you come across.

So...srsly that little stereotype about psychology=mind control is not true. Not even close. You sound like a teen trying to sound tough or dark and edgy...

Sorry to rant there.

P.S is this a fetish thread in disguise? I mean I lurk here a lot and I don't see people talking about what turns them on or off about the characters(except you know normal stuff like butts, muscles, hair, etc.) Nail polish is an odd thing to be disturbed about(no offense).

Also I agree with Slextrem, sushi, and Greed-sama. Nothing wrong with a woman who likes to wear a little make-up.

A FREAKING PLUS on the first Naruto vs Sasuke battle! And this is coming from a girl who HATES the Naruto/Sasuke relationship more than anything. I loved it to death! The flashes were really well done and I LOVED LOVED LOVED the button input part because of the fast pace fighting moves. Freaking stellar I'm actually excited for the Naruto vs Sasuke battle in the manga if it's anything like how the games do it!

Also I liked Sakura's confession. She sounded genuine! I think Kate Higgins did an excellent job voicing that part!

Lastly, I loved the end of prologue. I mean Minato is just so cool!

Sorry I just had to get that out. Back to finishing chapter 2.

Haha that's not fanservice! It made me laugh because:

1) Naruto was just so calm and Hinata was freaking out.
2) Naruto told Bee not to say 'weird stuff'.

LOL that was funny!(srsly Naruto's reaction shows it was onesided on Hinata's end)

EDIT: If it were Naruto and Sakura I could imagine them both freaking out lol.

EDIT: THe rest is just a rehash of 559 and 573 tongue.gif.
