David Tennant.

I would have to say Tom Baker/Jon Pertwee as that is when I started watching Dr Who. Jon Pertwee because I started watching just after Tom Baker started and saw a lot of Jon Pertwee in reruns but they all have their strengths and weaknesses

Of the "New Doctors", I would say Eccleston. His run was 100% good, with little faults despite being such a short run. David Tennant's run, on the other hand, was sub-par. Tennant himself is a brilliant actor and a legendary Doctor, it's just that his run despite being longer was plagued with inconsistencies, unnecessary fan-service, idiotic plot-lines and utterly deplorable companions (mostly the later ones). Matt Smith doesn't even show up on my list, that's how bad I consider his "run". Don't even get me started on John Hurt's fanfic Doctor. -.-;

For me I have to say it would be the Tenth Doctor as well I mean I just loved his era and Matt Smith after all there is no bad Doctor each one is good in their own way and brought something new to the role as the 11th Doctor was more on speeches than action like the Tenth was, while Nine had only just come out from the Time War.
As for the Classic well from what I have watched so far I have to say the 3rd Doctor is the next best.

I favor all the funny ones...xD
Lol true I mean they are each funny but also dark at times as well I mean look at the 10th and 11th both got dark at time.
10th waters of mars
11th a good man goes to War
and the 12th has yet to be shown hence why I didn't put him on and I hear that this season 8 will be very dark.

Matt Smith. I also met him and Karen several weekends ago during my first Wizard World Comic-Con too!

Um... currently, Colin Baker... Yeah, I know, shorter run. It used to be a tie between Troughton and Tennant, it really changes as I continue to go through the older library. It might go back to Troughton or Tennant.

Am I the only Eccleston fan in the entire fandom? :C

Not at all. For the longest time, I preferred him over Tennant and Smith. He was my first Doctor, and remains one of my favorite non-humoristic Doctors.

His tenure was short as the Doctor. And he's pretty much an kitten, but I like how volatile he is and how even though he's an kitten, he's usually right and funny. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely super dark times, especially his first appearance where he almost strangles his companion to death.

Oh! I wasn't trying to say that him being dark was a negative. Some of the best moments in Doctor Who are darker moments that deal with grey areas.

Is he signed on to do something in season 8? I know his role in Arrow just got bigger.

but Matt the better acting.

Yes is that a problem? I know you don't like his run and while I will say his episode are weaker than David's and Eccleston's most those belonging to series 7, but the emotion, energy & heart he put in his episodes regardless if they were good or bad I found impressive. Also the fact he received a nomination for a BAFTA award in 2011 because of his performance in Doctor Who.
Like his speech in Rings of Akhaten
