Also, there's that disgusting body split technique he uses. The one where he duplicates himself via the other "him" 's mouth.

True. But that seems like a slow-collection, doesn't it? Some are just repeated motifs off of his 'snake-ness', so it's kinda repeating and not really showing he actually went out and copied some jutsu's. As well, he displayed incredible speed against Sasuke in the Forest of Death. What the hell happened to that speed?! Did he lose it or something? I know, he was weak when he fought Sasuke for his body, but come on! Where did it go when he was fighting other people, like the Third Hokage and the Sannin?

Well, wasn't the body he was using about to expire? He had to change bodies every 3-4 years, right? The medicine Kabuto gave him wasn't enough to sustain it anymore, so he was pretty much a crippled old man by the time Sasuke was going to kill him.

Also when he caused the pillars to collapse he could have used Susanoo's sword while the Raikage/Kazekage were defending to cut them in half.

Sasuke's Susanoo doesn't have a sword, FYI. With Itachi's it was made clear that the Sword of Totsuka was something he found and thus exclusive to him. Sasuke was safe and sound inside Susanoo but he had no way of fighting Raikage and Gaara offensively at the time, the former being immune to his lightning attacks and too fast for his Sharingan techniques, and the latter with his usual "absolute defense", which Sasuke even acknowledged.

I think Itachi's and and Sasuke's Susanoo will be slightly different in appearance once completed. (Sasuke's looked dark, while Itachi's was white looking) As for now Sasuke doesn't have Susanoo's ultimate defense shield that Itachi had.

I noticed that after rereading the chapter. But my point that Sasuke couldn't harm them still stands. Raikage is as fast as Minato and has bijuu-level chakra, and Gaara's sand is strong enough to withstand Deidara's C3. I see no reason to think they would have been hit by it, especially considering Sasuke's is incomplete. Besides, at that time he didn't know Karin had located Danzou. He left because he was outclassed, plain and simple.

Raikage and Gaara were both defending the people around them from the collapsing pillars. If Sasuke was to swing Susano's sword they'd have to switch their concentration from protecting against the falling pillars to dodging/protecting against the giant sword swiping towards them. Sure they may have dodged it, but then they are faced with the dilemma of either protecting themselves or sacrificing the people around them from the falling pillars as well as gigantic sword coming towards them. And he left after Karin told him Danzou's location not beforehand. Whatever choice he made is left ambiguous as Kishi will allow him the ability to kill any of the good guys, but not actually go through with it to keep his "redemption" safe. The whole situation is subjective.

Wasn't Sasukes full objective to kill all the kages though? I think he stated he wanted to do this, but maybe I remember wrong. It seemed more like he had to switch over to plan b and go for only Danzou because he realized he truly couldn't take on all the kages as he had wanted to. Danzou at least he had more against than the others. It makes me wonder how high on himself Sasuke was to think he could take on all the kages with just his team. Sasuke usually has things planned out, but this mission seems to be lacking as far as planning goes.

his statred goal was Danzo and Danzo only. If the other Kages got in the way thats their problem. and he'd deal with them.

As to his arrogance well Sasuke has allways been arrogant, but with Madara pushing him into a fever pitch by stating that one of the main people resposible for his clans death is the hokage wlel its no wonder hes not thinking straight.

Hes also the prodigy that ((to his knowledge)) took down the Sannin orochimaru. and possessor of the Sharingan. To him the kages would be nothing. So again its no suprise he underestimated them all.

beyond arrogance its in Sasukes character to underestimate people. he did it with Naruto and he's done it with the Kages.

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Madara state that the Hokage was trying to find a peaceful solution to the situation, but his two advisors and Danzo went above his head and ordered Itachi to kill his family anyway? That was my understanding anyway.

Maaan seeing the Raikage master lightning and Mizukage have two bloodline's seriously hopes that Kishi add more moves to Naruto's arsenal, which as far as moves go is lacking.

This chapter was meh, was nice to see Sasuke isn't the ultimate mary-sue charactor.

Now we wait to see how Madara manages to tell the kages his plan without actually telling them the whole truth. that guy could be a Solicitor with his way with words.

Well, it had been bothering me so I reread some of Naruto...I found where Sasuke states his plans for the summit changed..

So his plans did include killing the kages, though Danzou was his first and most important target at the summit. He also talks about how he needs to be able to control Sasuke; he doesn't want to lose control over him like he did with Pain. I would think since Naruto is the one who changed Pain, Madara would want to keep Naruto away from Sasuke just in case.

Yep the Third wanted to negotiate with the Uchiha but Danzo and his advisers went behind his back and ordered Itachi to kill all the Uchiha. Itachi knew Sarutobi had been against the massacre (and although it's not explicitly stated this had to be the reason the Third put Danzo's status in disgrace, disenpowering Root from a central part of ANBU.) so he knew Sasuke would be safe in Konoha until Sarutobi died.

Good point, those two have always seemed to have different loyalties. Now that we know about Shisui's ability it makes a lot of sense that the advisers are being controlled without even knowing it. Not that it makes me dislike their characters any less... laugh.gif
