So The Universe Just Flat Out Declared War On Me

07 June 2023 - 09:25 PM

I went into Walmart today to get some stuff and just happened to walk back to the electronic section to check stuff out. Boy, was that a friggen mistake.

The entire box set collections of "Ed, Edd, n' Eddy," Teen Titans," Justice League," and "Scooby-Doo: Where Are You?" were all on display. HOW IN THE kitten WAS I SUPPOSED TO JUST WALK AWAY FROM THAT?!

I ended up buying the Teen Titans set since it was my favorite as a kid, but God Dayum! The universe just looked at me and chose violence today.

My first comic is now available!

I know I've been making a lot of new threads lately, I do apologize for that. But this is something of a revelation for me since it's the first comic I've ever made. I can't draw for crap unless it comes to maps, and this is something that I've ALWAYS wanted to do. I originally wanted to wait until I got a few chapters ahead before I shared the first chapter, but I decided I'd let you guys have the first look at it.

The chapter itself is $3.00 but you get a good chunk of it for free on my DA page. I'll share the links below.

Sailwind

12 February 2023 - 03:52 AM

This definitely isn't a game for everyone, but I thought I'd share it anyway since the dev really deserves all the help he can get.

I've put over a hundred hours into this game called "Sailwind" which is a sailing simulator that takes place either in medieval times, or possibly early colonial times. You play as a merchant sailing from island to island, transporting various goods for the local communities. As of now, there are three main Archipelagos you can sail to, each one having a distinctive feel with various architecture. One archipelago has a Middle eastern or North African feel to it, while another is very Asian, and the last one feels Italian or Southern European.

In Sailwind, you navigate by adjusting the sails on your ship to catch the best wind possible. Each ship has it's own unique feel and way of sailing. Some ships are faster in a straight line, while others may be slower but more agile, making them more maneuverable in tight ports or easier to handle in strong winds. There are three bigger ships you can purchase for a higher price as well, and these ships are better equipped for sailing in the unforgiving open oceans as you travel from one archipelago to the next.

While out on the open ocean, you will have to rely on the stars to help you navigate. Obviously, there are no landmarks out on the open ocean, so the stars and sun are going to be your only options for knowing your whereabouts. There are numerous tools you can buy in the game, ranging from a basic compass, quadrant, sun compass, chronometer, and a few others to help you navigate. These tools have different functions but will help you pin down your longitude and latitude.

And while there is no action in the game, there are still plenty of dangers. Storms are fairly common on the open seas and can cause some serious problems. Waves the size of mountains can easily capsize your vessel, making you lose all your cargo, food, tools, maps, etc, forcing you to nearly start from scratch. To top it all off, there's also basic survival, which means you'll need to eat, drink, and sleep in order to survive.

Despite these difficulties, however, Sailwind is a very chill game and very enjoyable to play when you just want to kick back and relax for a while. If you like boats, sailing, or just enjoy being on the water, this is a game I highly recommend.

Also, don't expect this game to hold your hand, either. Because it doesn't. It doesn't show you where you are in the world if you look at a map, nor does it have any quick save features. It gives you a boat, a map, a compass, the flag on your boat shows which direction the wind is blowing, and then the game says "good luck."

You can fidn the game here: Sailwind on Steam (steampowered.com)

And if you're interested, I'm going a playthrough of the game as well on YouTube: Sailwind | Hard Start | Economy Update | Let's Play | 001 - YouTube

I am now making comics

06 February 2023 - 10:38 PM

Hello everyone!

So, I'll just cut straight to the chase. I've started making comics recently and wanted to know if anyone here would be interested in helping me out with suggestions and editing decisions? Comics are new territory to me, but it's been a goal of mine for a long time to recreate NaruSaku in some way. And I think I've finally got the tools to do it. And this is the only anime site that has a chill community that might be willing to help me out.

If you'd like to view my first chapter and give your opinions on it, send me a PM. I'd love to get some feedack from you.
