Unless Kishi is broke, I don't see him redoing anything.

Of course I say that then this happens the next day.

Kishimoto Officially Takes Over Boruto Manga

Man it feels like we are sprinting towards the end here, I hope we have a few more years at least. I'm already about to lose Attack On Titan soon.

I don't regret coming to this website, however I might regret being a Naruto fan.

The problem I have, is i enjoy some of Naruto still. But what it turns into is just pathetic.

#976427 Whats your OTP now that NS was given the pipe?

Posted by Tiller on 19 December 2019 - 06:20 AM

Don't really have one anymore. I mean Lois and Clark in Superman has been mine forever. I'm also glad that Arnold and Helga officially end up together now from Hey Arnold.

I enjoy My Hero, but don't have any major shipping connected with it. Attack on Titan is basically about broken love and tragedy. One Punch Man is a comedy. Dragonball Super is great, but again not much shipping there as everyone is already paired up more or less.

I watch some Black Clover, but not enough  to really be in it.

I really don't have that much romance in my life right now.

#967135 Sakura was written to be Disliked

Posted by Tiller on 22 July 2018 - 05:52 AM

I don't see why Sakura is hated yet other tsunderes are beloved.

Because she didn't pick the person she was a tsundere towards, but instead with the guy who tried killing her multiple times, and even had his child. Despite the abuse and neglect, and despite not even being a big part of their lives after his child was born.

#966695 Sakura was written to be Disliked

I swear, people who hate Sakura saying "she's useless" or "she's abusive to Naruto" or whatever are getting more and more desperate to "prove" how their blind hate is right. They're not even pretending to give actual legit criticism anymore

Most people I know who hate Sakura hate her because of what happened to her in the ending, and how ultimately she became a sad pathetic girl who went back to a guy who once tried to kill her. And not only that but she did so by just being persistent, going after him again and again. Many think Sasuke could of beaten her, and Sakura would have went back to him. Since Sasuke tried killing her and she went back to him, they don't have much to say she wouldn't have gone to him even if he did beat her up.

There isn't much you can say about canon Sakura because of the ending, all you can do is defend what she was before the ending destroyed her and made her a doormat.

#966575 About Sakura's love confession to Naruto

Posted by Tiller on 05 July 2018 - 12:55 AM

I used to be okay with the "Sasuke should die in the end" idea until I realized that death is just way too easy for characters. You die you get instant redemption. Now, this would be okay under the right circumstances (I still think Obito's story is a legit. A few tweeks could have made it perfect), but too many times and it loses its impact. Sasuke should have either sacrificed an eye and not an arm or perhaps had new eye implants that were not his. Perhaps given another Uchiha's eyes that were weaker.

It wouldn't of been instant redemption though, that's the thing. It would of been Sasuke falling further down the path of revenge, a star burning out because it burnt to hot.

Him being blind would also have been good, especially if he was a basic prisoner who helped Naruto when Naruto became Hokage because Sasuke finally understood that Naruto was the only family he really had in the end. Making up for his sins, by having to become what he hated. A man who could only give out advice and couldn't act out his desires to do as he pleases, the hell with the consequences.

#966572 How Kishimoto could have made Sakura popular

Posted by Tiller on 04 July 2018 - 11:46 PM

Sakura's unpopularity (especially after the terrible finally) largely came from the fact that she wouldn't change. After all that happened she continued expressing the same feelings she had as a younger child. Making her a weaker, less interesting, echo of Naruto's own hangup. When the confession became a thing, it should have been pushed as Sakura ACTUALLY changing her mindset, and her character evolving. Even if Naruto wouldn't accept it, or if in the end the pairings somehow ended up even the same, this small change of Sakura refusing to be a doormat, or a female version of Naruto's feelings would have made a huge distinction.

Sakura having Naruto's same drive to forgive Sasuke no matter what, combined with her sexual interest in him, made her a bit more pathetic of a character. Especially with the added sexual connection. With Naruto it could be argued that he has a case of Protagonism syndrome, always looking on the sunny side of life, refusing to believe evil exit, or people can be corrupted. Having two characters acting like that in the main case, and also making it known that her desire comes not from friendship or any simple genuine silly "goodness" and instead was rooted in a selfish desire to make Sasuke "hers" because she "loved" him made it worse. SS had no basis, and even after the failure of the ending came, Sakura ultimately ended up alone, having an absent husband. She looks pathetic. A girl who refuses to change, refuses to demand more from her mate, and in the end living alone with her child. Why? Because of feelings she had when she was 11. That's not an easy character to love. It was a character arc that returned to where it started, no growth, just tears. It's a bad character design.

#966444 About Sakura's love confession to Naruto

Posted by Tiller on 01 July 2018 - 05:33 AM

I was always in the minority that said either 1. Sasuke had to die. Or 2. Sasuke had to lose something very important for him to stay alive.

I still feel like the best outcome for this story would have been Sasuke in the end giving up his life after realizing how much he had ruined the people who actually cared about him, and how selfish he was being. If I had my way Sasuke would have died sacrificing himself to beat the Rabbit Goddess.

The other possibility, if he was to live, was that he'd have to lose something that connected him to his sins. Many people back in the day used to theorize that Sasuke would end up losing his eyes, and his power, and therefor go from being one of the strongest (if evil) people alive to relatively weak and harmless. Some predicted that he would end up becoming an advisor to Naruto when he took over the village, as a guide and constant remind about what is lost when someone becomes obsessed with revenge.

What does that have to do with what you were saying?

The confession and attempt to kill Sasuke in the first place, was for many of us a step along the way to his end.

1. Sakura ultimately rejecting her shallow girlhood fantasies about getting with the "hot guy" after it is shown that said hot guy was killing the people she cared about.

2. Sakura coming to terms emotionally with her actual feelings and what matter to her. This brought her to her act with Naruto.

3. Her attempt to kill Sasuke was genuine, not out of hatred completely but also because she needed to protect what she really loved. Not just Naruto but her village and friend as well. A rejection of childish ways.

4. After failing (as the story would have dictated), Naruto and Sakura would have to address each other's feelings more, and develop their relationship further. Even if it's now Naruto who refuses to see what Sasuke is doing and instead it is Sakura trying to open his mind to the darkness that exist in Sasuke, instead of making excuses for it or crying at the mere mention of it.

5. This relationship would develop with Sakura becoming closer to Naruto over time, and even really being someone who protects HIM. Lady GT had a couple of fake panels that really showed what this could of been at times, protecting Naruto from himself.

naruto_459_prediction_p_1_by_ladygt93.jp

naruto_459_prediction_p_2_by_ladygt93.jp

Now since I brought the legendary Lady GT in this, I should say she wasn't a follower of my "Sasuke should die in the end" idea.

More or less for the confession to matter it had to be a part of a growing and expanding character arc, that effected multiple characters. For whatever reason, or excuse if you prefer, that's not what happened. And instead it's now known as the fake confession. Maybe it is in canon. Who knows now? I haven't paid attention since the final chapters became canon.

#955133 Ending with SS in a good way

Redo the entire story. Give Sasuke a different personality, not make excuses for his actions. Set up the dynamic differently. Basically write a completely different story.

It's sad how much was destroyed. How everything was made worthless in the end.

#937470 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

I guess that's true. "A villain is a character whose evil actions or motives are important to the plot."

So Light Yagami from Death Note was a villain after all.

http://thewritepract...n-protagonists/

Of course Light is a villain. Was that ever really a question?

He thinks of himself as a God, and he chooses who lives and who dies. Despite being nothing more then a kid who's smart, and because of that believes himself better then the rest of mankind, despite being a part of it. He's a hypocrite who thinks the rules don't apply to him because he is "special", and above the mere chattel that is most of mankind.

Sasuke is also a villain, but for different reasons.

The difference? Light ultimately paid for his crimes. Sasuke? He was rewarded, with a family, power, and protection. He didn't even lose his damn eyes. He was treated as a loyal ally, instead of the self centered jackass that he was, the deaths he caused over looked. The attempted murders he committed wiped clean. The fact that he helped the entire world itself almost end, doesn't matter. He gets a wife, a kid, and ultimately lives life as he wants. No questions asked.

Sasuke is not a villain, he's an on and off antagonist.

He's killed people for his own desires in order to get revenge and later power. In any story that's a villain.

Almost every villain in this story isn't brought back. This "peace" no matter what message is a laughable joke.
