Hey, do we know what sage mode does Hashirama has? It didn't say, so are we all assuming his mode?

It's all just assumptions, like I said in my post while there is a possibility of it being Slug Sage Mode I'm not gonna say it is until I see Hashirama actually summon a slug.

Um ... am I being pessimestic if I say the circle patterns on Hashirama mean absolutely nothing for Sakura? I mean, seriously, I know we all want Sakura to do something and are continually frustrated that we have gotten nothing for so long but claiming the circles are related to her is ... I dunno know ... wishful thinking? Believe me, I'm all for it if I'm wrong. I really want Sakura to get a power-up but I really can't believe this.

Now, if Hashirama reveals a Slug contract, then I will leap out of my chair and be a lot more confident in a Sakura power-up. But the problem I have with this is that, so far, there doesn't seem to be any obvious sign of this symbol being connected to Sakura. There's just nothing. Sakura doesn't even have a connection to him, so it makes it even less likely.

I'm not saying she won't undoubtably and it's good to hope, but let's not get our hopes too high. Because usually when the happens related to Sakura, all we get is more frustration and disappointment. I'd like to avoid that, y'know.

Aha, there was something I was thinking about the other day, but I couldn't remember. Warning everyone now, I'm just blurting out my thoughts. In no way is this a prediction or that I believe it will happen. It's just a thought.

I was thinking about way back when when Sakura asked Yamato about the wood element and how Sakura wanted to learn it to help Naruto. No other character other than Orochimaru (and of course, Obito who had him kidnapped) seemed to care about the wood element or really even ask about it. (and by care, I mean try to learn it for themselves)

That said, we already know that wood element can't be used unless you have Harashima's cells. But this makes me all the more curious about the origins of this technique. Is this a blood limit? Did someone before Harashima have this ability or does it all originate from him? If it's passed through blood, how come NO one else in his family has the ability? Not even his descendants it seems. I mean, it has to do something with Harashima himself since Madara can use wood element now that he has his face planted on his chest.

With the chapter last week, I started to assume maybe mokuton was just a very advanced sage technique of some sort. But, that wouldn't make very much sense unless having Senju cells in general helps you manage sage chakra better or something. Hm....

^That makes me think if Hashirama is some sort of a "chosen one" himself. Or just extremely talented, he was the head of the Senju after all. Because it's not Senju cells every villain wants, it's Hashirama cells. The first Hokage's cells. Why not the second?

I've wondered how Oro got access to Hashi's cells, I once thought it was via a drunk Tsunade or something. Maybe Mokuton runs through the bloodline, but only a few people were able to activate it? Like the Mangekyo sharingan.

According to Kakashi , when he explains the chakra natures to Naruto for his training , the Wood technique is a blood limit , from combining earth and water . Yet , Tobirama can not use it , and as far as other Senju's go , we have yet to be told if anyone else in their clan could use it . Hopefully , the next chapters will shed some light on this as well .

Also , if wood jutsu it is indeed a blood limit , I wonder why it reacts to Naruto's Kyuubi mode and what does that mean for Naruto .

The wood element reacts to any bijuu chakra I believe. You know, I just remembered the existence of the Shodaime's necklace. That has to come in the light sometime during these flashbacks right? Maybe that has something to do with Mito and sealing the Kyuubi and whatnot.

Wood release sucks out the Kyuubi's chakra. It's pretty obvious that Yamato was the only one capable of the technique, probably it requires enormous amount of skill to perform such an advanced element. Or maybe the rest of the clan is executed, we may find out in the upcoming chapters.

I have similar thoughts as well. But my thinking is is that by using Nature Chakra, Hashirama can control his Mokuton more freely as he is manipulating the nature energy in the trees and woods and whatnot.

I don't know Chatte. The most probable connection is only through Tsunade.
I mean some other cases you mentioned can be explained in another way.

I don't see how that is possible, how could it be considered Slug Sage Mode without a affiliation to Slugs, plus out of the four others with Sage Mode, Jiraiya and Naruto had to go to Mount Myoboku to learn Toad Sage Mode, and Kabuto and Orochimaru had to go to Ryochi Cave to learn Snake Sage Mode, and the easiest way to get to those places is to be Reverse Summoned by the residents (although I'm really curious to know how snakes would do that) otherwise you have to be lucky enough to find your way there, which if I remember right the Toads were surprised when Jiraiya found the place.

Given that information in order to become a Slug Sage someone would have to go to wherever the Slug place is (presumably Shikkotsu Forest) and learn Sage Mode from the Slugs, which I have a hard time believing that if someone found the place on their own (which is reportedly a very difficult and rare feat) they would just teach them Sage Mode and not have them at least sign the contract, and if the person refused why would they teach them?

I agree, this chapter was boring. Kishi pulls in flashbacks in the middle of an arc, not to mention how slowpaced it is. He gives me so little in one chapter, and I'm tired of hearing the "Ninjas will always hate eachother" thing all the time. Fortunately, reading OP right after Naruto made me feel better. Oda pulls so much information and details into one chapter. At least I was satisfied with something on wednesday. ^^

Now don’t get me wrong I’m not someone that likes to complain about every single small detail. You see I perfectly understand why Kishi is doing what he is doing, I just don’t like the way he is doing it, that’s really my beef with “Naruto”. Everything he did in the last chapters could have been done a lot better.

Well, I won't say this chapter was awesome. But this Madara and Hashirama story is so much better compared to the Tobi vs. Naruto and alliance chapters(the chapters where we had to tolerate the advertisement of an unimportant secondary character for no significant reason).

I noticed in Storm 3 the video game, Tobi don't really have a special. It reminds me that the next time we go to battle, we will definitely see a boss battle. Yes, He fought already but think about it. He never truly fight until his mask broken. It's like an action adventure boss battle, there's different stages. They finally passed the invisible stage. Now he's exposed, so now he's going all out offense. I thought "well he may suck at fighting" but the flashback suggests that he's really that good. Pretty much the next game will have his own special move. So yeah, next battle will be the interesting part. As long as side characters don't interrupt.
