I actually thought that the second half of the episode (flashback) was very interesting and indeed necessary. It's important that we get to see exactly what happened, along with the characters whom play an important role in the filler plot. I'm glad they did it early on. The little girl (I apologize for forgetting her name ) seems to be the main filler character here, and I suspect that she has an important secret ability which will play a role in the plot. Perhaps its with the melody she says she hears and sings, along with her drawings. I can see her possibly bonding with Sai, haha.
Anyways, I don't think anyone should be hard on the studio for this filler, especially after only seeing the first episode. I'm glad they're doing something special to celebrate hitting 500 episodes, and appreciate that they went so far to get the top animators for this one. Regardless of how it turns out, I'm thankful for their good intentions and am excited to see how this goes.
There was once a hero who flew too close to the sun.
His wings of wax fell apart and he plummeted to the earth...

Dawwww. So many feels.
I love how the both of them have a smile that is only reserved for each other. I hope we have more moments like that and not just in filler.
I must say the added budget and better animators are really obvious, a part of me is disappointed it's being used for a filler arc but it's a nice little celebration.
The flashback was a little jarring but what would Naruto be without a copious amount of oddly placed flashbacks right?
Funny that this filler is closer to most anime movies (Naruto, Dragonball Z, One Piece etc) than standard filler in that it's virtually impossible to place in the series timeline, once you start trying to place it, it starts to fall apart.

I'm starting to believe that because of Kishi keeping Naruto and Sakura away from 'each other people are starting to give Naruto and Sakura interaction in fellers a lot more value something I'm not accustomed to see on a NS section forum.
Interaction are always nice, after all they are friends, really good friends plus Teammates.
Nice moment would be Naruto saving Sakura from the copy Kyuubi blast, while Sakura disobeys orders because she wanted to be with Naruto and try protect him in the Sora arc, Sakura blushing at Naruto while he was training to learn Rasenshuriken, Sakura and Naruto's part one fake mission searching for the Akatsiki's, Naruto holding Sakura's soldier pill notes close to his chest, chapter 235, even this
Again Naruto and Sakura interaction are nice since god knows how long they haven't shear a good moment with each other, but what we have on this filler so far should be something expected and very natural to us.
Also People don't need to agree with me since this is just my own personal opinion on the matter.

what episode was that?

Honestly I really loved this episode, much more entertaining then anything I've seen from Naruto in a while. There's just something about it that is right. I hope they keep doing it.

Also, I do think the movie was like "Sorry for no interaction between them in manga, but I'll make it up in the movie." I mean the interaction between them in the movie has more than the recent NH development, if you want to call it that. I don't know, NS has that daily life interaction whereas Hinata has that "Did I do good? Am I strong?" That's just me.

I understand what you mean. It doesn't help that they're in the middle of side characters' glory phase in the anime. I do like what's going on now, it's just I think we are due for good guys interaction. Other than that, I do find this episode enjoyable and breath of fresh air from the current arc. I would have said that long time ago with the movie, but again, movie only release in Japan and other lucky countries.
