I'm really bad when it comes to titles.
OK so I don't really know where to post this and I think this is the best place.
There is a website called spoilertv.com on it you can find well spoilers about TV shows (it's pretty much in the name of the website) but not just spoilers. You can also find interviews of actors, producers, directors, promos of different TV shows pretty much anything related to shows/movies. It's a good website.
Now here's the thing two weeks ago there was a poll that everyone that visited the website could vote. It was a poll between characters from different shows. I ended up voting when it was the final. The characters don't matter with the rest of the "story".
So here is what I did. I voted for the character that I liked then I posted a comment saying something like "I voted for this character because bla bla bla and I don't like this other character because bla bla bla". The way you can comment on the website is with a disqus or twitter or facebook or a google account. I commented with a disqus account that I created 5 years ago or 4 years don't really remember.
Here's the kicker. After I posted my comment I waited a couple of minutes and visited the website again to see if someone replied, and surprise surprise my comment was gone. Then I posted another comment asking them why was my comment deleted, just asking in a polite manner why.
You want to guess what happened next? Well if you guessed that my comment was deleted again, you guessed correctly. Because that's exactly what happened. They didn't bother to reply to my question, they just deleted it.
Then because I'm stubborn I wrote another comment telling them that what they're doing is wrong and unjustifiable and they should stop this. After I posted that comment, I started to read another comments from users. While reading them I found that the original poster of that article commented as well. And I found out that she likes the character that I disliked. So I presume my comment was deleted by her because my opinion didn't match hers. Again I presume, I could be wrong.
Now you might say "Well your first comment was deleted because it was offensive, it contained nasty words, you insulted a user or character or any other things. And that's against the rules so of course your comment was deleted." But I promise you none of my comments were offensive or contained bad words or anything that's against the "law" of the website. I wish I could show you my comments but I can't, you know why? Because they deleted them.
After a couple of hours I visited that article again to see if this time they replied, and I saw something that I already knew they're going to do. They deleted my comment again. I basically gave up because there was no point.
Last week I tried commenting on another article and guess what. I'm banned from spoilertv. Which is absolutely priceless. They didn't delete my account because they can't, because it's a disqus account and they can't do anything about that. But if they could I'm sure they'll delete that as well.
So I have to ask you guys and girls. Do you find that what they did was normal? Am I the one that is wrong in this or are they just incapable of dealing with someone else's opinion?
Now even though I didn't like the fact that they deleted my first comment. I'm going to say it's ok. Because maybe it was offensive or something. Even though it wasn't at all. There was nothing wrong with that comment. But let's say there was. And doing what they did was the correct decision.
But if that's true why didn't they answer my question? I mean how hard can it be to say "Sorry you're not allowed to say things like that. Be careful next time you will be banned."? Is that really that difficult?
Also do you think I should e-mail them and telling to unblock my account because from what I can see my account was banned on that website for no reason or should I create a new one since it's much simpler?
