Sonic will never be dead, no matter what his current and future games have done, it doesn't change the fact that the original couple of games were fantastic. They just need to step backwards if you know what I mean

I believe they need to make a decision about the direction of their games, you have the old arcady sonic which was just simple fun, and you have the new sonic which is a bit more complex (in gameplay options) and has a deeper plot.

So far Sonic team was keen on sidestepping throught the devlopment of their recent games, never truly going to one direction and creating games whom had stupid mixture of bugged gamplay with a stupid storyline.

I believe they should either return Sonic to his roots completly, without any major change to gamplay ("cough" wearhog "cough") or to go into a new direction completly.

I have to wonder, Sonic has razor sharp quills that are capable of destroying mechanized robots. Why does he need a sword?

I asked the same question months ago. In the end, I decided it would be better for my mental health to just suspend disbelief. Otherwise, the inanity of giving a living weapon a sword would break by brain.

This is coming from someone who loves swords and would prefer they be used in just about anything.

Sonic Team are trying to use the storybook/mythology formula (like wirh Secret Rings). Somehow they believed that we are going to like it, while the fans (like me) shake our heads in shame and disbelief.
