Well, according to "The Last" Naruto is supposed to think that Hinata loved him like Ramen ... something to eat ... because he is not supposed to know what "romantic love" is.

I've seen (American made, I think) adaptations of classic literature. Like Romeo and Juliet and pride and prejudice. There's also a ton of anime out there based on light novels, which are basically chapter books with the occasional drawing in it. Durarara!! is the best example I can think of at the moment. It has a manga adaptation but it originated from a light novel.

Such a cowardly excuse like that is why I'm unable to accept NH. The Last wrecked Naruto's character and did a great job turning him into an a-hole.

 

Not only did it make him out to be clueless and disconnected with his own feelings—when in fact he knew what he wanted right from the start—, he also saw Sakura as a trophy to be won because of his rivalry with Sasuke (even though Sasuke was never romantically interested in her to begin with).

 

How they managed to twist Naruto's genuine interest in Sakura into something so shallow and cheap still baffles me, especially since it was shown time and time again that had he'd seriously loved and wanted her from the get-go.

I think most people in general thought Naruto was gonna end up with Sakura. I came across this thread https://myanimelist....=1264507&show=0 where they were discussing who was more likely to end up with Naruto and most of them thought it was Sakura. This was discussed just before Naruto ended. It doesn't mean anything now, but it's interesting what other people thought.

I know it it stupid. It is a straight Rip off of DB, what just dosen't fit into the Narutoverse, but was done anyway (Maybe they thought they could get some sympathy points or fans wouldn't be so outraged because they have seen this before).

"Heidi" was based of a book from an Austrian woman and I think there are some more Animes' from that time period which are based on books.

Which meant that hinata as far as everyone knew; even if they got together was Naruto's "second choice." They didn't want that, and they didn't want the audience to think that. So the last's goal was to make sure hinata wasn't seen as the second choice. In order to do that they made her princess of the hyuga clan, the goddess of the moon, as strong as the six path sage, heir to six path sage's brother, constantly tried to make her look as pretty as possible, change their backstory, got Sakura to help push them together, the illusion, the contest between the scarves of motherly love versus true love, and so on.

 

The problem is that by doing so especially that speech Sakura gave to dismiss that Naruto ever had genuine feeling for her on any level. But by saying that his feeling for Sakura were a lie then that meant Naruto was lying about one of the first thing we learned about him for fifteen years. If he was lying about that; what else was he lying about? By doing what they did in the last they destroyed one of the most important parts about a story; the likability of the main character.

On top of that, this retrospectively makes Naruto look like nothing but an absolute hypocrite after he rejected Sakura's confession and saying that he hated it when people lied to themselves.  Well, what the hell do you call claiming you are in love with a girl that you were objectifying  just to get one over your rival, who never had an interest in her in the first place?

 

 Whoever wrote and directed the Last needs to be tied to the bumper of a car and dragged across the streets of Tokyo.

well sword art online for example is made from light novels, so yeah probably so, wouldn't be surprising.

It's kinda funny, but I don't hate Hinata. I just hate most of her fans. Kinda like some LeBron James fans, Justin Bieber fans or even some TSM fans if I can compare it to other fanbase. The players, artist, League of Legend teams, or even fictional characters are not bad. But the fanbase making them invincible or giving them a God-like status is what makes me hate the Fans.

Honestly, I would just fix the story and give Hinata a proper development which would make her tunnel vision of Naruto change into a desire to become a better "Ninja" and clan leader for herself. After all, even she got ruined by the movie The Last.

Which was just another thing that he lied about. He wasn't an idiot that couldn't produce a basic clone at 12. He was a super genius that could use the shadow clones when he was three.

Not even rushing but leaving the clan as well (I assumed). Til this day, these NH fans didn't even thought of the Byakugan. Oh no, they didn't because they had to retcon everything so Hinata can officially jump on Naruto's bones.
