So...I don't know if it's just the recording program that I have, or if it's supposed to be this way. I've been using a recording software called D3Dgear to record some of my games. It works great and I have very little issues with it. However, it seems to make the game's I'm playing randomly crash and splits the videos up into 4 to 6 minute long videos. Is it supposed to do this, or do I need to edit them together when I put them on Youtube or in an email? I'd really like to just make one long video rather than a bunch of short ones. Any tips or information anyone can give me? I was thinking about going to Fraps...but it takes up too much memory space for my liking.

You can try bandicam which will work too. (It works in ten minute intervals)

Things is, videos are only 10-15 minutes tops in recording time because otherwise the video files get too massive to record. Video recording takes up a lot of space so you can easily file your entire harddrive in just a few 10 minutes videos.

Ah! Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. I guess I need to get a video editing software to put them together, then? Because I've been watching a lot of videos on youtube that are 30+ minutes...

You should try Dxtory. I've used it for quite some time, it doesn't take a lot of space and its interface is user-friendly. (I believe it is free, can't remember right.)

As for editing software, Adobe After Effects and Sony Vegas are great.

Camstudio - Unlimited time of recording and easy to use.

I personally prefer Bandicam, but it can be a lot involved for those just looking for something not.. well, involved.

I like using Nvidia's Shadowplay you need a geforce graphics card though. Let's you record as long as you like and you can stream to twitch with it. Super easy to use and free

Action, Dxtory, Fraps, Camtasia, Bandicam there's a number of good recording softwares out there it just depends on your preference... dxtory is probably the closest thing to fraps while still maintaining small file size so i'd check that out.
