Not to get off topic (although it is my thread) but how did you feel about the manga ending? While I also don't like the ending of the anime, I do applaud that instead of leaving it open ended or having one of those "the asura is still out there, our heroes will continue to grow stronger until they finally meet him" endings they took a risk and created their own ending.

I haven't read the manga, so I wouldn't know. Though from what I've heard of the manga, it sounds waaaay better than the anime.

Best:

Neon Genesis Evangelion - The End of Evangelion

Perfect way to end a great series. I loved Shinji's rejection of Third Impact at the end.

Great Teacher Onizuka

Very heartfelt finale to a meaningful, emotional series. While it could have been a bit more fleshed out, the last couple episodes was a great way for Onizuka to leave the school in a better place.

His and Her Circumstances (Manga)

A very nice ending for this manga as it balanced the humor and drama like had done the entire series. A fun epilogue made for a great ending point. It's too bad the anime never finished.

Please Teacher

A fun romcom came to a satisfying and humorous end in the last two episodes. Both emotional and funny, it was a nice cap.

Samurai Champloo

I love how casual this series ended. Similar to how it started, the three are once again on their own separate ways, but their lives are better. They seem to be happier people at the end.

Yu Yu Hakusho

I love the ending of Yu Yu Hakusho, since  think it gave all of it's characters well deserved and hard earned happy endings. The final moments of the last episode makes you reflect on the journey you went on with these characters and makes you realize they are better off for the future.

Worst

B-Reaction

OK, this is a manga, and was a darn good one at that. However, it ended up being cancelled and ended abruptly. Shame.

Shaman King - Anime and Manga

The anime, which finished ahead of the manga leading to a rather lame climax, was bad enough.

The manga ending, though, made me want to pull my hair out, it felt as if the author didn't really know how to end it all and just threw together random ideas. It was a major disappointment and didn't offer any real positive closure for a series that was very up beat.

I really liked both of the Code Geass finales.

I hated the SnK finale.

The best

Trigun:
Not exactly the ending I was expecting, but it was an ending I enjoyed.

Evangelion:
I didn't know how to take this ending at first, but then I realized that the ending was actually kind of simple. People chose whether they wanted to live or die and start a new.

Outlaw Star:
This was a great ending and I love the series so much.

Cowboy Bebop:
BANG! (nuff' said)

The worst endings

Gurren Lagann:

ending.

This was a great ending and I love the series so much.

Oh, great choice! I love Outlaw Star, fantastic show, different take on sci-fi/space combat and I loved the fantasy element. A gun that shoots cartridges filled with spells, awesome. The ending was slick.

Probably the best ending in my opinion would be Code Geass R2, I thought it was very well done and an appropriate and satisfying ending. I also like the endings for Steins;Gate, Clannad: After Story, and Gosick a lot.

The worst would probably be Soul Eater. The last half or so of the anime was mostly 'meh' and the ending was really bad, in my opinion. Definitely a let down.

I haven't read the manga, so I wouldn't know. Though from what I've heard of the manga, it sounds waaaay better than the anime.

It is way better, except for the very last chapter. Ookubo went a little overboard playing around in the final chapter. But the ending overall is far better in the manga than the anime.

Best ending is School days. It was so beautiful and colourful! :))))))

At least the main character was an alpha male.

I can say too that if  NS  doesn't become canon Naruto manga would end like School Rumble  of course just in  the plot romance.

On another hand there are animes that have best finales like Card Captors Sakura. The confession  in the anime, then the anime's ending was not enough they made the movie.

Yes that could happen especially if that happen in part 1.

Wow you have a good taste. I like the anime ending rather than the manga.
It's my favorite shoujo manga.

Soul Eater was a Original Ending, the manga was much better, I don't even count these original endings if i'm honest, the only original ending i've ever heard was worst watching was Full Metal Alchemist, i've ot watched it myself but it's the only anime that didn't follow the original sourse that is spoken positively, otherwise all of them are usually spoken of negatively.

I'd say Code Geass R2 ending is one that always sticks strongly in my mind it was so well done, even though I had guessed the ending was similar to what it ended up as, it was still an epic end.

I liked Gurran Lagaan's ending, though part of me still hoped Simon and Yoko would get together no matter how unlikely it was.

The manga ending for Hitman Reborn was a dissapointment, it was 400 chapters of seeing this person grow up to be a leader yet the end chapter showed no real progression, he was still uncertain about his rold as a boss, and his confidence in himself....it's like he fought a whole bunch of people yet the person himself had not grown up at all.

Thanks, for the sake for a good romance in anime/manga chose this manga, I even ask myself  What i am looking in this Shounen that a shoujo can provide.

Another one with good ending i believe this is between Shounen/Shoujo. I amTalking about  DNangel. this simple anime finish with a beautiful kiss.

The endings to "InuYasha" (This includes "The Final Act," if you're looking at the anime.) and "Fullmetal Alchemist" (Brotherhood, if you're going anime-wise, too.) will always be my favorites. They really wrapped up their respective stories well and leave the reader/viewer satisfied, I think. They're so beautiful. Other endings that got to me were the endings of "Cowboy Bebop," "Death Note," and "Code Geass." They really packed a punch and were well-executed I think.

In terms of endings I didn't like, I can't really think of anything, at the moment, since everything I've watched up to this point was actually rather well done. Maybe I shouldn't have said that. I'll probably jinx it. :lmao:

On that note, I feel that this story is in a delicate situation and can fall into either one really easily. It depends on how Kishi decides to develop things, as well as the pacing he uses. It seems he can wrap it up well. *crosses fingers*

I liked Rave Masters ending, a lot, cause it tried to trip me up.

I disliked Tsubasa Chronicles ending, because it was confusing. Several plot points weren't explained properly and it was left off as one of those " And the journey continues..." type ending, which does not work for this story, imo. But, I also think it might have something to do with the fact that this series seemed to have been mixed a bit with XXXHolic (sp?), which I never read.

Hopefully, that will be rectified with the release of Season 2 (if the rumors are true, that is). I remember clutching my hair, when the titan peeked through the hole in the wall at the end. Of course, that might have also had to do with the fact that I was annoyed that there wasn't anything more to watch...at the moment.

I love the Soul Eater manga -- if my avatar and sig are any indication -- but the anime, I just kind of ignore everything that happened from the point it diverged from the manga storyline onward.

Manga counts right? Well recently Kenichi ended and to be honest it felt kind of rushed the ending I mean. but I did like the last page cause It implies........ something. Fans of Kenichi read the last at the bottom left of the last page.  :D Oh and Idid not like how the anime for it ended either.

I was asking for anime finales but I don't mind mentions of manga.

OK, this is a manga, and was a darn good one at that. However, it ended up being cancelled and ended abruptly. Shame.

I liked it too and agree that it came to an abrupt and random end. Like suddenly they had to make the female protagonist a damsel in distress so that the guy could save the day, even though she had proved to be very adept until then.

Outlaw Star:
This was a great ending and I love the series so much.

I completely forgot this! I love Outlaw Star, I used to stay up and watch it on toonami, and agree that the finale was really satisfying.

Yeah, I agree, Tsubasa was really a weird ending, but yeah, it was because it was so tied to XXXHolic. I'd read somewhere that the series tied into a few Clamp series. I was also displeased with the outcome. I can't remember it too specifically but I remember being like "Nooooooo!"
