*Crosses fingers and hopes he kills Sasuke*

I also agree though i wouldn't mind Sasuke getting atleast some of his good side back. Him dying as a villian would just further diminsh his character and i don't think his character can go any lowwer than joining Akatusi and planning on helping kill Naruto for a plan formed by a pycho cuz his family died due to his own recklessness. Sasuke is better than that and deserves to atleast be somewhat good and guilty for what he has done before he dies. sleep.gif

I do believe that its still possible for Sasuke to be redeemed, if only because he had that flashback of Team 7 before casting Amateratsu (forgive me if I spelled this wrong). Maybe he won't go back to living in Konoha, but I think that maybe he'll just be a silent, unspoken ally for Naruto and Sakura when they need it - wandering from village to village much like Tsunade and Jiraiya did.

Yeah I would be alright with that idea.

Quite honestly I believe that Naruto lost the battle. I think that the fight was meant to represent two sides of a story, Naruto who lost and chose to gain strength through training, determination and loyalty to his village and personal code, while Sasuke who won the battle chose to seek power through short-cuts and betrayal. It also serves to build up on the initial theme, Naruto who is the underdog and has to work for his success versus Sasuke who is always on top and at an advantage in everything chooses a different path, what in the end is the consequence of their decisions and how it reflects upon the Ninja world.

As another point, Naruto's reluctance to fight Sasuke is most likely why he was supposed to lose, while Sasuke was eager to battle and test his strength no matter the result. Since Naruto has to pursue Sasuke now in hopes to gain him back, Sasuke has to pursue Naruto to fully ascertain his power (unless Sasuke is a turn-around good guy) and at the final battle between them Naruto has to either win or kill Sasuke to prove the moral of the story.

I personally think it was more Naruto lost because he was holding back, I seriously doubt Sasuke at that point was stronger than Gaara and we all know Naruto beat him fair and square. And Naruto actually went one tails against Sasuke, so he was using more Kyuubi chakra than during his fight with Gaara.

The main reason why I think Naruto forfieted the match is what Sasuke says at the beginning, He said that Naruto wouldn't be able to scratch his forehead protector. And at the end that's what he did, if they were both heading straight on, Rasengan Vs Chidori, how did Naruto manage to stratch his forehead protector? My thinking is he changed the route of the Rasengan when he realised the attack might end up killing his brother, (which is what he see's Sasuke as. Forget about his promise to Sakura, Naruto would not be able to live with himself if he knew he killed Sasuke,) so he sent the message to Sasuke even in defeat, 'I could have defeated you, but let you live, because I want to save you.'
