actually i still can't get anatomy right. argh1.png
You should make it a mission to find out what Yokochwan and Yondylicious and Saku-chin did when they first started. That's the ticket. emoticon_monocle.gif

Anatomy is not a simple thing to grasp. There is a lot more to it than most people realize. If you want to learn anatomy, do not use anime references, because they are stylized and inaccurate. Read through an anatomy guidebook to understand the mechanics of muscles and bones, and draw from life. Learn lines of motion and contrapposto. Learn about how the human body actually moves and behaves before attempting to apply any sort of style to it. I promise you, every professional artist you have ever admired, including Kishimoto, has a firm background in life drawing and figure drawing.

On the morning of Wednesday, April 11th, 2012, my Aunt Karla passed away. She was my mother's baby sister, and my coolest aunt when I was a kid. She was the best babysitter ever, and she was like an older sister to me.

Karly, I don't know if you can hear this. I am not a believer, I haven't been since Sheryl died. But if you can, I want you to know that I'm truly sorry for everything bad I've ever said about you. When you were suffering, I should have been there to help you. I should have visited. I should have encouraged you to leave the house and get a job, to be active and alive the way you used to be.

I promise that I will do everything that I can to be successful and a good person, to make you proud the way you would have wanted me to. No matter what I said, I loved you. And I will always love you. Rest in Peace, you will never be forgotten.

I took several life drawing classes in college and I hated every minute of it. For me the imperfections of the body was my weak point. When our models came in I wanted to draw them the way I wanted to see them not how they really looked. So I wanted more curves and better boobs on my female models while my men models had god like bodies XD All and all I did learn a great deal from the those classes and in the end I learned to draw what I saw not what I wanted to see.

I'll probably have to try to break the same habit. To round some corners when there's none there. I have a tough time drawing males who aren't overly muscular and females in general, let alone their hands and feet. Thanks for stopping by, you two. smile.gif

If I'm drawing a woman, it's actually easier for me when they have bigger busts. Since in comics women tend to be super busty and curvy, those shapes are easier to replicate. Example: Wonder Woman. I have a harder time when they are more regular sized and curved. I don't know why but I'm still having issues with how differently women are segmented body-wise than men. As you guys have stated, being more familiar with the anatomy of the bodies will probably help out. It'd be grateful if you could share that folder of references.

Also, hilarious sig. Hi-larious.

Chou,

This is by far the best reference I have ever found for anatomic gesture drawing. Use it in good health.

So, just realized, looking through my library of could bes and has beens and realized I've never drawn a NaruSaku picture. Well, I seek to remedy that. If you've followed me at all, you'll know I hate drawing hands and feet, because I suck at making them anything other than a fist or boots, love boots. I apologize for Naruto's karate chop of love.
