I think the Sakura/Bulma comparison is used as an anti-argument against NaruSaku to prove that not every heroine ends up with the main character and that the heroine preferred the bad boy with a villainous history so therefore SS will happen.

 

Still don't quite get it the parallel though. Bulma never took Vegeta's crap, Saiyan or not. That's not like SasuSaku where Sakura only ever stands up to Sasuke in serious situations and usually gets hurt by him too much. What makes things a parallel are similar interactions IMO, not a trope in general.

That's in the West... NS is much more popular than NH in Japan. And if Kishi listened to the fans, NaruSasu and KakaIru would be canon -- they're both way more popular than SS, NH, or NS combined. So, don't worry about that.

Yeah, It'd be interesting if Kakashi did reciprocate Rin's feelings. KakaRin is kinda complicated because while we know that she had feelings for him at the time of Kakashi Gaiden, we don't know for sure whether Kakashi felt the same and that he was only denying her bc he didn't feel like he deserved her or that he just didn't have any sort of romantic feelings for her.

 

The other problem with that parallel is while Obito says that Rin wanted to die by the hand of the man that she loved, that is Obito talking not Rin. Who's to say that she didn't move on from Kakashi.

 

Personally, I'd like to think that Kakashi did have feelings for Rin bc of how he phrased his response to her love confession and the context of the conversation but that's still a long stretch based on a couple lines of dialogue.

 

On the other hand, Imo Kakashi resembles Naruto waayy more than he resembles Sasuke. Just look at all the events of the manga and you can see why. Both characters feel that they don't deserve love. Both characters rejected revenge and believe in protecting their comrades no matter what. Meanwhile Obito was the one who went on a revenge driven murderspree like Sasuke, not Naruto.
