This series and its fandom are tiring me out. I'm exhausted.

Kishimoto, why'd you have to go and catch me in the childhood? Why, man? :ermm: It'd be so much easier to just ignore the manga's existence if it didn't impact my childhood like it did.

Been a while since I posted here.

Moved into college on Saturday the 24th. So far, dorm life isn't bad. We'll see how it goes long terrm.

First job interview was today, for a tutoring program. I'd be tutoring kindergarten to 8th grade-level kids for at most 8 hours a week. Got offered a position by the end of the interview, which I'm very excited about. Particularly because this was my first ever job interview and I was positive I was going to goof it up somehow.

I haven't been to all of my classes yet, so I'm not 100% sure how bad the workload is going to be yet. However, one class in particular, CIV111, seems like it's gonna be trouble. We'll see.

Just finished reading through volume 2 of the Attack on Titan manga.

Good lord, was the anime a massive improvement

Seriously, the whole beginning of the manga is totally kittened. There’s no training arc set before the battle of Trost, meaning that we don’t get to know or care much about the characters post-timeskip before kitten hits the fan, meaning that when kitten does hit the fan and the action starts it’s just a lot of boredom and waiting to get invested.

If I wasn’t just reading the manga to get to future events, I’d be dropping it right about now. Being mildly interested in Armin and Mikasa isn’t enough to keep reading from here. I know it apparently gets really good later on, but messing up the beginning this badly leaves a stain on the story as a whole. I'm so glad I watched the anime before reading the manga.

I haven't watched the Shingeki no Kyojin anime, only read the manga. I remember the beginning was a bit... disorienting, there were all these characters that were not really introduced in a way to make the reader care about them before they started dying off and fighting for their lives and such, and it took a while to make sense of it. I was interested, but not really invested in many of the characters, because I didn't know who the heck any of them were. Does the anime really make that much of a difference?

Ohhh yes, it really makes a huge difference. Characters are introduced much more strongly in the anime, time is spent with them in their training beforehand, so by the time Trost happens, you know who most of them are and remember them, and are invested enough in them to care about what's going on (particularly the main three, mostly Eren, but the supporting characters gain a lot from this too).

I've been watching the Shingeki no Kyojin anime, and you're that it does make a big difference. The characters are much better established by time the battle for Trost comes about so there not just nameless faces.

Haha yep! And that, in turn, makes Trost a really awesome part of the story, like it honestly should be.

So I saw "The Lego Movie" today, and it was pretty great. It took a totally unexpected direction that really enhanced it.

Tomorrow's pretty much my last day of Spring Break, which feels like it went by way too quickly. I should probably do some of my work tomorrow so I don't have it all saved for Sunday... :sweatdrop: I also have an informative speech I need to research, lay out, memorize, etc. within the next two or so weeks, which I'm not really looking forward to. :zaru:

On another note, this band seems to have a habit of getting their songs (mainly the chorus sections) stuck in my head. The most recent example is this (another is up higher on this page):

I just finished Evangelion 2.0 and I feel pretty aggravated. I was really looking forward to watching it, considering its great reception, and it was doing a good job...only for the ending to come in and leave a really bitter taste in my mouth.
