They bother with these interviews because every time he does one they leave us with more questions than answers. So we set up another interview to ask him "What the hell are you talking about?" and then he changed everything around again.

I honestly don't know at this point whether he really is stupid or if he is trying to throw people off by playing stupid.

You know what they say: "If you can't dazzle them with brains, baffle them with kitten"

Also, I notices like someone said "all other characters are equal"

So....does that mean Hinata is not the heroine anymore either? There is no heroine now. So first it was Sakura...then it was Hinata...now there is no heroine. Probably because Kishimoto injected all that heroine before he did these interviews.

I have no clue where Kishimoto studied to become an aspiring manga writer/artist... but having taken only 1, yes 1 creative writing coarse just last year mind you, I've already learned how to not write characters and scenarios. You can't just write something, change it completely, and expect it to be the same story people were expecting it to be. That's why I find "Accept the authors work" as a BS argument, why would anyone accept something where a drastic change in character ruins everyone? If I wrote a story about a red and blue characters and suddenly changed them to orange and green midway with little explanation, does that mean I'll be success because I need to be respected as an author?

 

I find it hilarious that Back to the Future is supposedly one of his favorite movies. If he was the writer of that movie, Biff or Marty himself would have ended up with his mom, because apparently dorks like his dad can't end up with the real people they love. Kishimoto would somehow hand wave the time paradox though or probably straight up ignore it 

didn't he say in the yahagi interview he started applying as a mangaka without getting any schooling first for the job?

Yep, Sakura's feelings for Sasuke changed nothing about him at all. Just made both of them look worse, especially when they have a kid that Sasuke never sees.

 

You know, I have heard the excuse that NaruSaku would have been an unhealthy relationship, just because Sakura would always love Sasuke no matter what. Even if that were true, which wouldn't be in any realistic scenario, it isn't much better for Naruto to lie to himself for the entire manga about his feelings for Sakura then turn around and "fall in love" with Hinata out of pity from that genjutsu.

What about Sai saying that women show anger to hide their affection for the people they care about... how obvious can it get that they are saying she is really kind and caring deep down ? 

 

They say that Sakura hitting him is because she is a kitten. However, the way the scenes are drawn, the lightning, the tone, the typical goofy expressions tell that beating him is purely comedic and a common tope in Japanese story telling. Sakura will alway be a kitten whatever she does.

He did give up on Sai as soon as he heard he wasn't popular. No chance at all. No wonder he never felt developed after Sai and Sasuke Arc.

Even Dead or Alive that has a bad reputation for its women (fanserrvice and jiggle) actually makes their females more competent.

 

At least 3 times the girls defeated or were major contributors to the defeat of the big bad. Lei Fang actually manages to defeat Jann lee once and this guy is the modern Bruce Lee badass and is no pushover at all (the guy even manages to win the tournament once).

 

Even Tina Armstrong who is the sluttiest looking girl of all them has more backbone and ambitions than the females of Naruto. She is a business woman filled with non stop ambitions   ( she actually succeeds !),  she is able to stand up for herself and talkback to the guys all right and even her dad (she clearly exceeds him as well more than once), she knows she is beautiful and uses her appeal to go up the ladder with swag. She manages to be a better wrestler than her dad and being a successful independent woman.

In the second popularity poll, he comment that the sick chunin exam arc is expected to be popular by him, and it pretty much spot on.
It could be an indication that he truly put popularity above all.

As long as it doesn't affect the writing, I'm okay with that.

I keep wondering if chouchou became popular at SJ because she was black and they hoped that she would have appeal in the states, because they apparently liked her from chapter 700 enough for him to put in the gaiden. And no one likes her in the gaiden

Also about the romance thing if he is so embarrassed about writing romance in his story than why does he keep adding it into his stories? It just not in Naruto in Mario the major sub plot of the one shot was the romance between Mario and the black hair assassin. I can't remember that baseball one he did but if it didn't have a romance wait a few more chapter and it would've. At least with other shonen manga either they don't have any or they set it up very early saying this guy or girl has feeling for another character of the opposite gender then once that happen we may get some shipping moment to show how much the two care about one another but normally it just left for the end where they get married. Him there is a reason why the pairing fans became so dominate in the fanbase compared to other fanbases. It feels like he adds another pairing every arc more or less

To put it plainly. The story, the characters, what motivates them, their feelings, their goals, their personalities, the lore, basically everything can change at any point in time if it's required. @TerrorKing explained this best. Check his post from the previous page.

If the plot needs Naruto to give up then he gives up. No questions asked and no explanations given. If the plot needs burrito to feel all warm and fuzzy about his father then he will. Without any explanations given on the sudden change. Just because.

 

Anything goes. Anything. And anything can change any time if it's needed.
