I like Hinata's theme of the loser having more confidence. She has this in common with Rock Lee and Naruto. That's why she admires Naruto so much because he was shunned by the entire village but gained everyone's respect. She probably relates to that being shunned by her father and clan but someday gaining their respect as well.

And she probably thinks Naruto's a cute boy too... Nothing wrong with that lol.
I sorta thought Neji died to force Hinata through pain to develop. The real reason Neji died--to bring her closer to Naruto--is disgusting beyond all belief. The "die for our ship" Trope is a real thing that actually happened in Naruto lol.

 

I like the first part too about how HInata is similar to Lee and Naruto in the sense she is someone who is trying to have more confidence.

 

Of course, like you, I thought it damn dumb to kill off Neji to bring Hinata closer to Naruto when she didn't even completely come off like she cared he was dead after a few minutes, which is kinda pitiful!

 

It still just makes me wish Hinata had developed more and more while Naruto was away, rather than getting nervous around Naruto still...

These Hinata fans wanted the best for her character that was move on from her obsession and turn into a strong clan leader to change the Hyuuga

The rock lee spin off actually gave Hinata character development that felt consistent with part 1 lol.

Awesome! I've only been watching the anime, I wonder if that's in the anime, too. The anime and manga of this spin off seem to have different stories.

I could see Sasuke wanting to do a revolution at the ninja system I mean this would be a good resolution for his ending.

Rereading Neji vs Hinata... Her fans that are ok for being reduced to pairing fodder are effing disgrace. In the end, they proved Neji right that she was never able to change by caring only about Naruto kun. She went on to the chunnin exam to prove that she can be strong and be something. She sure did not look happy when her dad up and said that she is trash.

 

edit Holy kitten ! chapter 79 litellary has Hinata and neji representing the Yin and Yang. This adds more weight to my theory than they were meant to end together to bring balance to their clan.

Allow me to appreciate Hinata's gameplay in Ninja Storm Revolution. I don't know how her gameplay generally is in the other Storm games, but in the other one I have, Generations, her gameplay in Revolution is very much improved. Plus she doesn't have this agonizing scream every time she's been knocked down like in Generations. I like this gameplay and how it portrays Hinata :)

You know...Neji was always really pissed off because his dad died. I don't blame him for that. Everyone always sympathizes with Hinata thinking she suffered the most because of her family and the boy she likes not liking her when it was really NEJI who suffered the most. It wasn't fair that he also had to die for Hinata.
So yeah...I don't like how her character was reduced to cousin-sacrificing love interest just to get with Naruto.
