Nah, they summarized it very well. They just didn't think that seeing her was that important (now that I think about it, it kinda isn't. Has no effect on the plot at all).

NO affect?! It's showing the woman that gave birth to Naruto! The Fourth Hokages lover! And she wasn't even from Konoha, she was born in Whirlpool. It's very important! We'll see her again. Although, could just be flashbacks, though no one is sure if she's live or not. >.> Hm.

She had no effect on the current plot. Seeing what she looked like won't make the moon fall out of the sky; it won't make Hokage mountain drift into space. It had no effect on the current plot other than just showing what she looked like.

No, she created an effect on the manga (well not to the plot but it did on other things) because now fans want to know if she really is alive or or dead.
