There are 2 parts of the interview and it is very recent (because Viz Media are now letting subscribers of SJ get the recent chapters of their favorite manga online).

Why I said it is recent and real?

Kishimoto had reveal some interesting details about writing about Naruto's birth/sealing and the current war arc.

http://www.likenarut...view-kishimoto/

Some nibbits I got from the interview:

QUOTE
- The flashbacks about Naruto's parents was suppose to be shorten, but the whole writing was dedicated for the love of his children.

- Favorite characters right now: Chouji and Killer Bee. About Bee, Kishi has difficulty writing him because he raps and rhymes badly. He also revealed that his former editor wanted a pro-wrestler type character in the series, since he's a fan. Favorite Akatsuki members: Itachi (of course) and Deidara (for Edo Tensei).

- Naruto and Sasuke right now: Yin and Yang.

Hey look, an analogy.

What's Happening with the Naruto series as of now!

Did you notice that their spoiler section didn't mention hinata at all?

This should go to the 573 spoilers thread and also why am I not surprise if it was a miss translation. At least she will be in the chapter but she might not say a word at all.

That's really interesting. The part about Sasuke being the opposite of Naruto assures something. Sasuke will never love anyone because Kishimoto wants to keep him opposite. What every Naruto wants, Sasuke wants the opposite. Whatever Naruto believes in, Sasuke believes in the other way.

It's cool how Kishi knows about us US readers. He probably doesn't have time to keep track, but I think he cares about us just the same as the Japanese readers.

Another interesting tidbit is that the man watches 500 Days of Summer. It's no wonder his romantic subplot isn't really your ordinary romance plot. He's really taking a realistic view about it. But on the other hand, it suffers pairing wars and endless dragging.

I've been recommended the movie personally from a friend of mine, but I've been wary to watch it because it had a "bad" ending.

Another thing is how amazing he's able to convey grandparents' views on war in his manga. That's pretty amazing, if you ask me. And.... ciardha was right on the spot about that. At first, I thought she was looking too much into it, but now I have to eat my own words.... sweat.gif

Lastly, Yes!! so, Killer Bee is his favourite character?? oh god, Kishi if you love him that much please whatever you do, don't kill him!!!

Heh. I could tell what Kishimoto was doing, there's been a cord of looking at the overview of history in his manga since part 1 (It kicks in overtly during the later part of the Chunnin exams, but in part 2 it's been a major part of the plot. I quickly picked up on the Vietnam War analogy with the Ame orphans- and it's the "deepest" treatment I've seen of it in fiction to date.

I first got used to picking up on historical and social commentary in popular science-fiction and fantasy stories by watching the original Star Trek series as a preschooler. (My parents were mild Trek geeks- watched it during it's original run and caught the reruns on Sunday mornings for years. My first experience with popular science-fiction and fantasy gave me an easy learning experience in how to read science-fiction and fantasy. Not all incorporate this, of course, but it's a core part of the genre. It's a way to ask and explore the big questions in our cultures but in a more philosophical sense rather than the intense level it is on when you are talking about real life.
Dream you dream alone is only a dream, but dream we dream together is reality- Yoko Ono 1971

When you go to war, both sides lose totally- Yoko Ono

Remember, our hearts are one. Even when we are at war with each other, our hearts are always beating in unison- Yoko Ono 2009

Eh not quite that, but suggesting it. It can still go either way, but that is left to our interpretation.

But.. what happened D: I'm lost?? what'd he say. I can't be bothered to read the interview. His interviews scare me and I don't exactly know why. Probably because of the shipping frenzies.

He basically said that Naruto and Sasuke are Yin and Yang. They are opposites and he made sure they were opposite in almost everything. So by this implication, with Naruto being a loving guy who is willing to do anything for his friends, Sasuke would be the opposite of that.
