I thought Tsukishima was going to be the ex shinigami substitute. I suppose it makes more sense for Ginjou to have been it, though. It explains why he knows so much about Ichigo's powers.

And I have to aww at Yamamoto. He's changed for the better, it seems. Still grumpy, but more willing to bend rules.

Damn, so Ichigo now has the combined Reiatsu of every Captain and Vice Captain, including the Vaizard, running through him? That's... a hell of a lot of power.

Watched it. Didn't care for it. Naruto is out of character, as usual for the anime, and the plotline was weak. It was obvious 30 seconds in that the kid was a ghost.

Also, revenge? Again? The anime crew don't read the manga, do they? Because wow, talk about missing the entire point of the series so far. Also, you can't get revenge on an animal, because it's an animal. Have they learned nothing from Captain Ahab?

Okay, I'm better now. I missed the Shinigami more than I thought I did, so it's awesome seeing those guys again.

Damn, Byakuya has certainly come a long way since he was introduced. From trying to kill his own sister to uphold the law, to donating his power to recharge a man he once tried to kill.

Aw, I was hoping Renji would show up wearing a Captain's Cloak. Too bad. sad.gif

While I don't like Itachi, with how talented and strong how is, I don't think there's anyone else better to have on your side during a fight. At least he's not acting like a douchebag any more.

I don't see Itachi being stronger than Nagato. He lost to Naruto combined with the Nine-Tails' Chakra, Killer B in his Tailed-Beast Form, and Itachi using his Mangekyou Sharingan, which is the biggest cheat in the entire Narutoverse. I'd be more surprised if he didn't lose.

That statement about the second part being rubbish compared to the first part: It seemed to me that Masashi Kishimoto acknowledges and is sorry for how poorly the time skip went. He just used Nagato to voice it instead of putting it in a side note. Takes a big man to admit they made a mistake. No wonder I like him so much.

As for where we go from here: There's still a hundred zombies running around that need to be taken out, as well as 50,000 White Zetsu Clones. That's the entire reason Naruto entered the war, remember?

I am thankful he's back, but his reasons for taking such long breaks are actually unknown. Only his first leave, way back in 2003 or so, for was illness. His last three or so breaks weren't sick leave. We don't know why he was gone. The only thing that's been stated is "Creative Reasons." There's a bunch of rumors regarding why he's absent so often, from being sick, to disagreeing with the editors of Shonen Jump, to even being obsessed with Dragon Quest.
