Really enjoyed that episode. I think the animation really showed Obito's transition to villain, and a lot more emotional than the manga did. This tragic episode really made me feel for Obito as the tragic villain and kind of allows me to accept him more as the villain than before. Just from the manga, it seemed a little ridiculous that he'd go crazy just because Rin was killed but this episode showed it emotively far more accurately.

The episode was pretty good, and the tragedy of rin really made me feel for Obito as a villain. It kinda makes me accept more as a villain than before.  Though in the manga I felt it was a little ridiculous, but this episode showed more emotion.

Well if an Anime episode does it right it can be way better than a manga chapter/s since an anime episode can be made of 1-3 chapters plus music always helps.

well , if there will be any still not feeling sorry for Obito after latest events in the Manga, they will most likely be swayed once the anime catches up . At least for me , it works . Might also be because he is a lot like Naruto

Not to mention the voice and facial expression. That's the beauty of anime, at least to me. Heck, I wrote a post about it at tumblr, thought it regarded to SnK. True story by me.

The ep had really good animation, actually it was just epic, when Obito went berserk they did an amazing job with that.  Also with adding to Obito's backstory. I don't think anyone can watch this and after not feel sorry for Obito, they did a good job in getting you to sympathise for Obito even though he did all kinds of messed up stuff as a villain. It had a much better impact in this ep than it did in the manga.

Is next weeks episode going to be a double episode?

Of course if they go against canon with Filler it leaves one pile of a mess.

Yeah, that's where the problem can kick in. Though out of the series, Studio Pierrot seems to be the one to do it the most, which is saying a lot because while other series do have filler, it only adds, rather than creating a new.

It was enjoyable episode. I think this should not have happened if Obito should have shared that strong bond with Rin that he had with more people, like Naruto.

I think that we are supposed to feel conflicted about Obito. On the one side the emotion of the scenario makes us more sympathetic and understanding to why he's so messed up yet at the same time we can never justify the tragedies he's caused so many others, all because he says a world without Rin is not a world worth anything.

How am I supposed to hate Obito after watching this episode?

And the ending....it adds to the feeling.

How am I supposed to hate Obito after watching this episode?

And the ending....it adds to the feeling.

I was like 8 episodes behind, but I heard such good things about how this episode was done that I decided to catch up to all of them. I gotta say, I have no regrets.

This episode really showed you the pain Obito felt as he saw Rin die. And I'm also glad that they changed the voice actor of young Obito when compared to the Gaiden. It really takes it home that Obito was still but a mere child when all of this happened.

So many people hate Obito's reason to be bad, but forget how young he was when it happened. At that age it only takes the smallest of things to change the way a kid views the world, and the reasoning you adopt as a child is the one that remains with you as you grow older if no one else around challenges you hard enough.

People hating on young Obito visualize him having the will of an adult, and that's probably because said people are adults or near adults themselves. So they apply their own will (an adult will) while they analyze Obito's actions, but forget that he had a child's will when those events occurred.

Just to make it clear, I'm not defending Obito's criminal actions, he must pay for all that he has done. I'm just saying that it wasn't unrealistic how kid Obito ended up as the corrupt man that he is today.
