Of all the Earth's that exist across the macroverses, this one was particularly interesting. Throughout its history, life had evolved as usual, but this version's case was special as ever since life first emerged, there were always specific examples within each species that had extra abilities. In modern times, as humanity became the dominant species on the planet, the most common term to refer to such individuals now is metahumans. Of course, not all of these powers are genetically based as magic exists side-by-side with science. In the end, this lead to a world where so called 'capes' stood out amoung humanity: some took up a life of crime as villains, others stood for justice as heroes, some wanted no part of things and tried to keep a low profile, and others didn't fit in any of the other categories.

All of this was on Archer's mind as he lazily drifted in the Thames River one night in his dragon form. Of late, as in since the start of the 20th century, the ratio of births of those with abilities was increasing at a steady rate. Of course, he kept part of his attention on his surroundings as best he could so as to avoid any collisions with late night water craft.

OOC: As you can tell, this is an IC world of a modern Earth where people with 'powers' exist (ie, Marvels, DC, Heroes, et cetera). At best, I would like to keep the IC-verse its own custom canon, but if you need inspiration for a similar set-up, the series Heroes is of related material (ie, people discovering powers in a modern world and how this affects them and what the world does, if and when it finds out about them).
"What use is a word with but one meaning?"
