Kishi did a horrible thing not because of the ending and not by the pairings, but because he didn't respect the investment of his fans. No matter what happened,all sides, all characters and all the development needed to be respected.

You sit up and have naruto and sakura be the main protagonists for all of shippuden, show them learning, growing and bonding together only for Sakura to be the same fangirl she was at the beginning is a crime.

Naruto and sakura deserved way more than to be a rivalry trophy, it cheapens everything and that sickens me.

Naruto deserved more, Sakura deserved more, and even Hinata deserved more. Sasuke deserved death imo, he was the most unrepentant character ever, i find it impossible to figure out how he's Naruto's best friend and Sakura's husband.

That's the biggest thing, lack of respect! It's a kick in the gut when your otp doesn't get the Canon, but reducing it to nothing like that kitten last movie did was nothing but skullduggery. Kishi saying we read it wrong is just insult to injury. If we read it wrong, why did they need to WRITE A MOVIE AND SERIES OF NOVELS to explain what 15 years of manga didn't?

Kishi betrayed an entire fanbase not because of creative misrepresentation, not because laziness, not even because of greed, but a general lack of integrity and respect for the loyalty his readers showed him for over a decade.

I agree, for all his potential and all the things he has achieved and all the hearts and lives he's touched and changed growing up,he becomes just another kage at the end, how disappointing.

For all that development to go out the window just so they can fulfill the wishes of 2 characters they barely even been around most of shippuden. And then some movie retcons their bond away to insult to injury, woooow

Naruto already died when they paired him up with the consolation prize, reduced his passion to a rivalry trophy and made him an absentee father with a bad haircut. Anything else would be considered justified euthanasia

I thaink that's what make people said that sakura has potential.
She's ordinary character with flaws.
I think it's rare to have that kind of heroine in shonen manga.

I think that's what kishi aim to achive with this character.
Too bad kishi can't write.

Incompetence aside, the direction of Sakura's character seemed like a deliberate sabotage

It wasn't even just excuses being done, but outright insulting not only the disappointed NS fans (which was much bigger than those around Kishi claimed to him), but also the neutral/logical fans like myself who could clearly see how NS was developing while NH was non-existent by comparison, by saying people like me "read the manga wrong". Clearly, Kishi and the NH fandom have no clue what a red herring even is...

...the amount of development and parallels NS had gotten was far from a mere "distraction", much less "misleading". If anything, it's what those few (selfish) NH moments were.
 

Exactly, this isn't about parings,this is about something I've invested in that is clearly insulting my intelligence. I didn't even care much for NS until shippuden when the dynamic was constantly focused on and developed while Hinata was barely even there. How can we have read that wrong when he didn't write anything for Hinata to even suggest she was in the same stratosphere as Sakura?

Nothing has changed. Sakura is still acting like a twelve year old girl and Sasuke still doesn't care about either of them. It's just so pathetic lol.

SS is the most tragic thing about this whole ending. The maddening thing about NH was that it just had no development whatsoever and was just forced on us with a nonsensical ending and an abominable movie.

But SS is a whole nother ballgame. Sasuke has consistently, without fail, rejected and marginalized Sakura's very existence. Right before his final battle with naruto, sasuke wrote off her feelings as ridiculous and questioned the logic in her caring about him, much less him caring about her.

And we're supposed to believe that's a ship? Inside i weep for Sakura's self respect

But does anybody else think it's ironic that Naruto's feelings for Sakura were written off as part of his rivalry with sasuke, when that explanation actually works better regarding Sakura's feelings for Sasuke. That could easily be attributed to her rivalry with ino

Nope. waste of time AND brain cells. Ever since that atrocious ending we got I've never touched the series and I don't plan to start now. I will just Laugh at what I hear about this series like it's all just one big joke. Just like the Joker
