As you all know Jump Festa is already here, and we've heard about Kishi's next manga series being sci-fi both after the ending of Naruto along with the sketches we've gotten a while back. Now we've gotten a couple of new details regarding this very series he's been hyping up for the last 4 years.
First, The title of this series has finally been revealed: Samurai 8
secondly, Junko read a comment from Kishi saying "The new manga will combine his love for japanese culture, clothing, and "SCI-FI"
lastly, the most interesting detail atleast to me is he'll be the one in charge of writing the story, but the artwork of the series will be done by Akira Okubo. Wow that's the one part about this I never saw coming which kind of intrigues me (only slightly though).
In most cases it explains why the series is gonna be weekly as opposed to monthly (like Kishi originally thought). Though it will be interesting to see how well Kishi is able to handle only the story, instead of both story and art this time around.
Akira seems like a mystery at first, but he's been around as an assistant during the early days of Naruto:
Now here is a key visual of the main character:
last, but not least a little trailer video:
