So I noticed that the dub for shippuden has finally reached up to the infamous sasusaku scene from 699,  and wow.... 

 

 

Kate Higgins (sakura's dub va) was literally phoning it when Sakura asked Sasuke if she could come with her.

 

 

I mean compared her voice in Episode 479 to how she voiced Sakura thinking about Naruto about his dream, and if he has happy in genjutsu world in RTN because wow She had more passion there, and it really shows.

I believe her exact words were she felt connected to Sakura because they both liked the badboys during the pre-teens/teen ages, but by Shippuden I think it was the first or second dvd set Kate said she was moved by Sakura's growth even seeing her grow feelings for Naruto it really motivated her to do her best. Since you know it represents growth and maturity in a character kind of similar to Kate's way of growing up. I remember her talking about Sakura's character and herself about that like a long time ago.

Serious question but is the original cast even doing the voices of the original characters in the Boruto dub? i.e. Maile Flanagan doing "Nardo" etc. etc.

the funny thing is I've seen the dub for Boruto, and Yuri as older Sasuke is still relatively decent.

 

Kate Higgins is pretty good whenever it's a scene revolving Sarada or if it's a scene between the two of them.  What's funny about this is whenever it's a scene involving Sasuke she's literally phoning it in.  That's something I already mentioned this when she dubbed the whole scene from 699 which is wow one of the most obvious cases of she doesn't care. 

 

Now I haven't heard anything about her stance on Boruto, but I can make an assumption here and say that She probably enjoys playing the role of a mother, but when it comes to romance stuff with Sasuke she doesn't care at all.

Her best work as Sakura is Part 2 when she cried for Naruto. I think she's much more emotional during the NS moments.

A lot of the voice actors both in English and Japanese seem to "phone it in" whenever it involves the pairings after they were revealed. When I was recapping the first arc of Boruto Junko sounded both tired and bored the entire time, the rest of the older cast that have establish careers seemed to just be doing the voice, but the newer ones were trying its just they didn't have good material. Honestly the one that stands out most to me would probably be Nana Mizuki who in the few things I stumbled upon that she done after the Last is; that if its anything but Hinata she puts a lot of passion into it, from what I have found.

Sakura is her most common role and the one that has followed her throughout her career (which is probably true for a lot of the people that have voice an important Naruto character.) She done some Bleach characters. Sailor Mercury. Tails until the Sonic Boom recast. Some western works. Also some video game characters.

Huh. I didn't know she voiced Vanessa in Black Clover. Honestly, I guess I just don't think much of Ms. Mizuki, even if I know she's a good and talented person, but I guess it's I always associate her with Naruto, and then Hinata, and then the downfall of the series as a whole.

Yes, that is what I meant. Nana Mizuki seems to actually put effort into voicing Vanessa. I don't know  about how she does as Hinata anymore since I don't even watch that trash heap But I'll take Bail's word for it

Eh, I understand your feelings for that but regardless Nana Mizuki can't be held responsible for what happened to Naruto. She is just a VA doing her job. That'd be no different from saying you now associate Junko Takeuchi with the scumbags that s#*!ed out  "Naruto The Last" from their collective @$$es just because she voices Nardo Scumzamaki in that movie and ever since.
 
You SHOULD Hate the "PEDO CLOWN, WAIFU JACKING OFF TO OTAKUS" faction of SP that that begged and coerced Kishi into forcing trophy wife status on Hinata, and ruining the franchise along side some VERY biased Shueisha executives and fans. THEY ruined Naruto for everyone, not the voice actors. And again, Kishi's also responsible for this "Frankenstein's Monster" since he did not stand up for his work. I don't wish him ill will for it but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he lost a whole ton of credibility as a manga artist to the point that almost no one would give a damn about "Samurai 8"
