^ Not just pro-enders. Not even people who're that deep in the fandom. Boruto is a pretty useless extension that does more harm---if any---than good.

#971890 Kakashi should have actually trained Sakura.

Sakura is that good, ordinary middle child that got forgotten between the chaos of her older (Sasuke) and younger (Naruto) brothers who're both just a handful. Like Kakashi didn't think about her and instead focused on the last Uchiha while doting on Dead Last, who was barely keeping up. These were two extremes where she got lost somewhere in between.

And we'll never know what Kakashi was doing during that two-year time skip, because he seemed genuinely surprised of her abilities during their reunion fight at the beginning. Shouldn't he be keeping tabs on his student? She was the only one still in within the village after all...

Maybe it wasn't Kishi's intention, but he did Sakura a good thing by letting her break away from all that confusion to approach the Hokage, wanting to be taught and eventually winning Tsunade over. For me, it made up for Kakashi's lack of attention towards her. (Or maybe I just prefer Tsunade and Sakura's mother-daughter bond a lot more.)

Retcons for days.

The hindsight of the story is pretty telling when they do something and fans don't like it. As soon as the fans say "I think Boruto should be more like so and so or they should change so and so" they change it entirely.

Look how they retconned Himawari having the Byakugan all of a sudden when in the beginning she didn't have it because "Kishimoto forgot." So they made news rules and were like "Oh yeah, she always had it. She just had to unlock it," but Hyuga are supposed to have it as soon as they are born. Heck, Kishimoto even said that a Uchiha Hyuga crossbreed should have both a Byakugan and Sharingan so we know, according to Kishimoto's idea of genetics, that even a half Hyuga will 100% guaranteed have a Byakugan.

Too bad they don't do the "I believe this is all a Infinite Tsukuyomi and they are going to wake up and finish the fight for real" advice people gave.

Honestly it was too funny that he forgot his own lore. Like I can't even be mad about how stupid it was that he didn't recall the technicalities of a MAJOR clan that HE created lmao.

What's truly disturbing was how easily fans accepted that slip up and went with it as if it was totally rational, when deep down they probably know that he either 1) made them up in the middle of the night or 2) he just didn't care enough to you know, care.

#970967 Boruto: The NeverEnding Prologue Chapter 31

Posted by gamma on 03 February 2019 - 05:56 AM

Volume 7 cover is out:

wuk24gzjn2d21.jpg

Covers Chapters 24-27 (basically it ends where Boruto tells Kawaki to make up the vase incident for Himawari)

So much edge in this boy that it practically cuts his hair for him.

Oh my god, but if you shave off that black mop on his head he'd look like Eminem, I cannot unsee this. World peace has been achieved, why are you so mad bro. You look like you need some of mom's spaghetti lmao. Wack.

I've kind of always figured Naruto would be the one to die. You know, like Jiraiya and Asuma — in a meaningful, symbolic, loss-of-master-now-Boruto-has-to-step-up sort of way. Then Hinata would remain the sympathetic, super passive, long-suffering love interest that she is.

Cause if Hinata dies, then it makes Naruto look bad/weak. Not that it matters now though - lol.

Ideally I thought that the entire cast of K9 would survive in the end, happily celebrating their own accomplishments together. Maybe a third part showing the ropes of their lives and careers.

But yeah on the extreme end if someone were to get killed off/go missing for a while, it would have to be one or two of the members of Team 7. It would greatly challenge their goals, motives, and characters even, in a way that no secondary character could move them to do so. Endless outcomes to consider had that happened, and I would've definitely stuck around to see that instead of Burrito's Cashgrab Crusade.

I was so betting on Sasuke biting the dust though, for real. That guy has flirted with death so many times, done so many bad deeds... like it's a fact that him and plot armor are more intimate with each other than him and Sakura...

Yes if Hinata died and Naruto lived ... ooooohhhhh i can already imagine her fanatic will swarm him with lot's of curse and insult. Naruto can't protect his family , Naruto is incompetent husband , Naruto not only fail as father because he neglect his kids but fail as husband and man as well for letting the most precious female on earth died , etc. And if the other way around , Hinata lived and Naruto died : Hinata has done well as a wife , there's nothing she can do about it , shes not strong enough to protect his beloved husband it can't be help and it's understandable , and Naruto will be forgotten like fart .... :lmao:

:/ Not even Neji's death prompted major change with any facet of her character, other than her relationship status. There was no clarity on her ambitions thereafter and her personality remained the same, so I don't think she would be that much different if Naruto did die while married to her.

#969370 Writers, back up your stuff on FF.net...maybe....

FFN added to the life span of docs? What a surprise lol, more time to make quick changes then. Personally I still keep all my writing within Google Docs.

I've been slowly warming up to AO3, especially since it's user friendly like mentioned, but I still prefer FFN simply because the interface and tagging system less complicated in the meantime. (That being said, I think it's a little unnecessary that they had to add in pairing brackets when people could have easily put a ship name in the description...)

Minato was describe by everyone that talked about him as mister perfect, which also made him Mr. Bland when you finally start having him appear. He did have the picture we first saw that made him looks strict, also somewhat with Kakashi's gaiden. So, kishimoto may have thought of making him strict/serious, but probably changed that when he identified him as "himself married to his wife."

I feel like he’s kind of a fan service-y character? You mostly see him in what if scenarios with Kushina and baby Naruto as an ideal father, like the products above. I mean he really does remind me of Hinata in that way, cause they’re both perfect and boring but ambiguous enough for fans to fill in the holes for themselves and have fun with it. I don’t think they’d ever want to stain him as a two faced person because it would ruin his image.

The second Problem is what you mentioned. just a non-issue. he acts like konoha is his big family, ignoring the fact what they did to him. he acts like that chasing sasuke is a zero-threat, ignoring the fact how many of his friends (including sakura) died nearly because of that. Even when they praised him as a hero, there were 0 thoughts of him questioning the double-faced villagers who now seek to him for protection because he got stronger. He just accept it, plain and static.

Yes. It makes him look ignorant and childish if he wasn't hinted to have at least an ounce of cynicism in him at one point after the war. They did Naruto an injustice by making him accept Konoha's praise without letting him see the though the irony behind it.

Like the moment in the movie where girls were all over Naruto, giving him presents and swooning over him. Should that not have offed him, at all? Made him go "hmm this is great... but if I wasn't the hero that you needed, how would you all have treated me then?"

I'm really starting to think they should have rethought Minato's personality. Like, what I think they should have done is have him be a more cold character. Someone skilled, feared, put the good of the village ahead of the lives of it's individual members and a warmonger. It would really say something about the system if this was the actual person Naruto idolized, and part of Naruto's growth would have been him coming to realize the reality of who the Fourth was. Hell, you don't even need to make him Naruto's father, just have Naruto coming to terms with Minato was everything wrong with the ninja system.

Yeah, he seems too perfect. Like a rosebush without any thorns.  :ermm: It would have added much more depth to him too if he was shown to be aware of Konoha's deep dark secrets, missions and deeds but actively choosing to ignoring it and their consequences. I do like his personality, calm and kind, but there is just no edge or aggression behind it that you usually associate leaders with. It makes him look rather submissive imo.

Does anyone recall Schneizel, from Code Geass? Minato and him are very similar in respect to character and intelligence as leaders.

But Schneizel was much more deceptive with his kindness and charm. He used it as a ruse to gain the loyalty and respect of his subordinates and siblings, showing care for them one moment, but was willing to throw them aside had they got in his way of ambition in the next. He reassured his blind sister he wouldn't intentionally murder thousands of innocent lives, but he did it anyways.

This is the kind of edge I'm referring to (not as crazy though!) where he used his charm and white lies as a means for control and support, a weapon of sorts. Sincere on the outside, not so much underneath. I believe his could have been applied to Minato as well.
