You guys should check out the Graphic Novel series this is based on; this is an adaption of the first one.

I must admit some trepidation at a live action adaption of it, but that actually seems pretty cool.

Oh boy it's Micheal Cera playing the same stale character with the same lame expression he always has in every role.

He was good in Arrested Development, but his acting has been repetitive and rancid ever since.

I agree with ya True on Cera, this film looks like a joke to me like Dragonball Evolution , but thats just my little opinion.

Well, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that. I mean Dragonball Evolution was bastardized live-action version of a insanely popular fighting manga/anime series turned teeny bopper crap. OMG Goku has to look sharp for Chichi's big party!!! sleep.gif Give me a break.

This is a movie at least looks pretty much like the original works, maybe some editing on dialogue or scenes here and there but it's pretty much the same premise when you read the synopsis of the series.

I mean I'm not a fan of the Scott Pilgrim series, hell I didn't know about it till I saw this trailer. But I'm not going to write it off just because it has CG effects with Martial Arts and label it another edition of DB Evo, when the Matrix movies, Forgotten Kingdom and even the new "Last Airbender" all share those same elements.

I actually think this is a bit of an upgrade from the same characters Cera plays. He seems to be more lively on this movie, but that remains to be seen. Still, this seems like one of those wacky, over-the-top movies like Kung-Fu Hustle and the Speed Racer movie, I'm watching.

The graphic novel series itself can be pretty wacky and over-the-top despite also hitting emotional notes. It's not really a martial arts kind of thing so much as there are lots of video game jokes, sight gags and other allusions. It's one of those things you'd think might have trouble moving to the big screen.

I like it just fine, and think it'll be silly fun. Michael Cera, I'm not a fan, but it looks like the material lends itself slightly to his delivery.

I never would've guessed this is by the same guy who directed Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, it might be fun as long as Michael Cera's deadpan acting doesn't bog it down.

That's what I'm hoping. Especially since I love the Scott Pilgrim comic series. Based on the trailer, my impression of Cera's actor isn't great & it looks like his typical acting. But I can't base things off of one trailer, so I'll see what the actual acting turns out to be when it comes out because I'm definitely watching it when it does come out. biggrin.gif
