Anime News network just published an article announcing the continuation of the Inuyasha anime. Here's what the article says:
"This year's 34th issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine will announce next Wednesday that an Inuyasha Kanketsu-hen (Inuyasha Final Chapter) television adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's manga has been green-lit. The anime will broadcast on Japan's YTVthis fall and cover the story in volumes 36 to 56 of the manga — the final 21 compiled book volumes. The original staff and cast will reunite for the new anime adaptation.
Shonen Sunday had promised earlier this month that it will be including a special news announcement about Inuyasha in issue #34. Takahashi had ended the Inuyashamanga in the same magazine last June. She has been serializinga new manga called RIN-NE (Kyōkai no Rinne) in the magazine as well as on TheRumicWorld. com website for North America readers since April 22. Viz Mediahas been releasing the manga in North America, and it has also released the original 2000-2004 television anime adaptation."

I was so disappointed the way they ended the Anime, so I'm really looking forward to this.
Inuyasha is what got me into anime, so I'm stoked for the new stuff.

I'm looking forward to this, simply so I can say I've completed the series. The original anime ending was awful. It didn't even end, it just kind of stopped. They didn't even include some of the best fights.
I hope they go a little easier on the filler this time, though. The first anime may as well have been called "Filler: The Series!" Half of the episodes didn't have anything to do with the plot.

I agree. The manga did drag but even still it was light years better than the anime's ending.

I remember catching the final episode on AS (you know when Anime was big in the US and pulled the same amount of numbers as Family Guy) a long time ago. This couple I knew had missed it and waited until the final box set came out a little while ago to see it. I told them before it even before it did they be disappointed in the final episode. The husband said to me basically what I said after I had seen it, "What the hell was that!?!"
