This game also reminds me a little of Halo, but I can't wait it looks like a great game.

At first it looked a Halo clone.. but now, it still looks a little like it, but with some noticeable differences (third person, jets, fighting humans instead of aliens). And like UzumakiKage, that jet powered dash is awesome. Might get my sights on this one, it's been a long while since I played a nice third person shooter.

Moar information on the game have been released!

The plot is like this: The USA and Russia are in conflit (again dry.gif ) in a near future, were energy sources are getting rarer at every day, and the USA made a satelite station were sun energy is absorved and give a unlimited suply to the people on earth, and the government of Russia sees that at this pace they are going to sucumb and then send a full scale attack at the station and take it over. They use the station to send a massive energy beam against Los Angeles, and order the USA to completely surrender, since America don't give up that easily, they send a special team to invade the spacial station and take it back. One of the soldiers of the team posses a very futuristic suit that give him super human abilities such as super human strenght, speed, agility, endurance and even perception, wich means you can see everything in slow mo for some seconds. A fun fact is that the game creator stated that the suit design and powers were based on Casshern, a anime/movie character.
Its from the same creators of Devil may cry and Bayonetta, so we can expect a lot of action fan service happy.gif

The demo video is out, and here is a video with some cool beats:

A Best Friend any man would like to have!

QUOTE
From: GI

Vanquish, Platinum Games' high-speed futuristic shooter for Sega, left some fascinating concepts on the cutting room floor. One notable deletion was protagonist Sam's best friend—a robot dog that launched missiles, provided mobile cover and more.

Borrowing a page from another Sega game, Shinobi sequel Shadow Dancer, it appears that Sam would have had faithful four-legged partner that would help take down bad guys. The robo-dog was loaded with ammo and could transform into a back-mounted missile launcher that would attach to Sam's super suit.

That's not all. Platinum's Yoshifumi Hattori writes on the dev's blog that "there was even an idea that a female android 'partner' would transform and combine with Sam (I was a fan of that one). As the player would hoist her up, their bodies would change shape in various ways from forming an enormous gun to having the android change into a boomerang and be thrown into the field."

Knowing Platinum, creators of Bayonetta and Madworld, there's little doubt that would have been a very sexy android boomerang.

Vanquish should be out this October on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, sadly devoid of cyber-pups.

Holy! Look at this awesome trailer for Vanquish

It's like an exaggerated Master Chief....or a Halo if the Japanese created it? *shrug* Either way, it kicks ass.

well the game is out and for most the reviews so far, the game wasn't all that it promissed, it seems it was heavily criticized for the extremely short campaing, less of 4 hours if are an experienced player and also it recieved critics for the cliche plot and corny dialog. Taking this apart, everybody praised the over the top action.

As for me, I don't care really about these kind of plots and dialogs as long as it sounds cool, but the very short campaing really is a blow sad.gif

I own the game and have beaten it so I guess I'll give my two cents.

It is everything I was hoping it to be. It's an absolute thrill, with near perfect controls and action sequences that made my jaw drop. It IS pretty short; my first playthrough (on Normal difficulty) was 5 hours, 3 minutes (not including cutscenes). But the game scores you in many categories, so if you enjoy it enough and you're the kind of gamer who enjoys topping their scores (like I am), I think you'll get a lot out of it.

As for the story, it starts out as basically just an excuse to go kill some robots, but it gets pretty surprisingly character-driven in the final act. That left me a little frustrated as I felt like it ended just as I began to care. So I'm crossing my fingers for a sequel. Sam is likable throughout the whole thing, though, especially at the end.
