We gain a new zodiac sign called Ophiuchus and one of the signs was shorten to a week:

Here are the new dates:

Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18 - May 13
Taurus: May 13 - June 21
Gemini: June 21 - July 20
Cancer: July 20 - Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10 - Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16 - Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30 - Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23 - Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 - Dec. 17

Now I got rid of the overreaction, this is only affecting babies that were born between 2010 and now.

So technically, I'm still a Sag, always have and always will be!

Unfortunately no. The 'wobble' of the Earth that is responsible for this change has been happening for the last 3000 years. So the signs change applies to everyone born in the last 3000 years:

This blogger states pretty much what I feel on the subject:

I was once a Virgo and now I'm a Leo. Huh? That doesn't even make sense to me. I'm actually quite incensed about the whole thing! First of all, I don't have any of the traits that a Leo has. Second, how can 3,000 years of history suddenly be turned upside down by a new zodiac sign discovery that no one can pronounce? Third, why is the new sign so hard to pronounce? Fourth, are the people who were born between November 29 and December 17 really going to tell others what their sign is? It sounds like you belong in "The Lord of the Rings" or something.

I don't think I'm buying Mr. Parke Kunkle's new discovery. I'm certainly not changing my sign. No way. If the dates associated with each Zodiac sign have changed, then the traits of each sign should change, or else no one is going to fit their "new" sign. And, what exactly are the traits of an Ophiuchus? Someone needs to come up with that now. Perhaps Kunkle can "discover" a description that would fit such a soul.

Do I want to have a conversation like this with my Dad? No, I do not. And, I'm not going to break it to him, either. My mom prides herself on looking up everyone's sign and telling us all about what our horoscopes predict. Now, I gotta tell her that Dad has a new sign, and that is not going to make her very happy. When she's not happy, nobody's happy. Thanks, Mr. Kunkle. I would prefer that we let Poppa Sagittarius stay that way, and I'll maintain my Virgo status, and we can keep the peace in the family. Nobody's getting a new sign.

After all SO many people embody the traits of the signs they have always thought they were. Aquarians are creative, smart, funny, loyal. Leos are strong, born-leaders, go-getters. Cancers are caring, nurturing, very connected to their emotions. Etc for all the rest of the signs. I embody Aquarians perfectly. I don't fit into any other sign. So I'm calling BS on this sudden 'shift' in signs.
