#898551 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Emb3rs on 17 January 2016 - 06:31 PM

nothing much he can do. most thing he can is upright apologize. retconning, rewriting or giving a different ending, they wont cut it. like many have said; it wouldn't be enough and would just make the other side angry. he's stuck in a no win situation. the damage has been done, all we've got are fanfiction/fanart now.

I hate to admit it but that's unfortunately what its come down to. Its a no win scenario, but he can at least wipe some of that bad if he comes out and apologizes or even admits his wrong doing to his fans. Not just a run around like when he admitted to being bad at romance yet never admits his canon couples were poorly written, even going as far as to acting like the " red herring" was misunderstood and we the fans are just reading it wrong.

#898442 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Emb3rs on 17 January 2016 - 02:08 AM

Im curious as to why Kishimoto isnt coming out with a proper " yeah i might have F*d up with pairings and some plot holes, and character developments etc" like it wont make him look any worse then he does already. In fact this would spark up some interest in a rewrite manga or alternate version and even give more interest into Boruto. J K Rowling didnt have to do it considering her final ships werent too conroversial and yet she admitted how weird the pairings were, hell even Emma Watson agreed.

My reason for me wanting this, although very mean, is because i want those gullible snobs who talk about Naruto like its a perfect creation not to be talked bad about to realize that it truly was bad nearing the end. And although i hate the final ships i do want to forget this ever happened and continue on to Boruto with some confirmation by Kishi that he wont BS his way through more bad writing.

I bet he could even squeeze in some non canon or canon, if he chooses to correct his wrongs, movies into this " revelation."

Its kinda weird but i guess when you go to bed thinking hard on something you most likely end up dreaming up random things about the subject. Early on back in like November i believe, I couldnt shake the bad Naruto left in my head and one day i went to bed with Narutos ending in mind. I giggled a bit when i woke up because i was dreaming about an alternate end to Naruto. I didnt have many facts about some of the more minor things in the story so i guess my brain made them up but, i imagined Sasuke left Konoha and rarely showed to support Naruto when he needed it, Hinata was dead for some reason, unfortunate because i do like her character somewhat, and Naruto had one kid with Hinata, a girl, but remarried Sakura. Just something random af but it made me giggle that i had imagined something like that no thanks to how much i disagreed with Narutos ending.

#897943 Why DO we like Narusaku?

Posted by Emb3rs on 14 January 2016 - 06:10 AM

1. Naruto and Sakura have the best, imo, development, even if it was as friends, in the entire series.

2. Naruto truly cares for Sakura despite the crappy answer to his loyalty, according to Kishi being that its due to rivalry with Sasuke.

3. Sakura made herself stronger so that she could be with Naruto and not let him go after Sasuke alone.

4. Sakura was willing to kill Sasuke to relieve Naruto of the burden she felt she had given him.

5. Despite her initial hatred for Naruto, Sakura was strongly influenced by Narutos never give up attitude.

6. Just about everyone Naruto and Sakura knew probably imagined some day they would end up together. Even when i shipped NH before finding out the truth i had a feeling that the girl who hated the protagonist would soon fall for him. Cliche as it may be at least it makes more sense then pairing a fangirl with the psychopath that attempted to kill her. Even her friend Ino was probably wondering dafuq Sakura.

#894189 Kishi Made Us Hate Sakura? What do you think

Posted by Emb3rs on 22 December 2015 - 06:36 AM

Kishi had many opportunities to absolve his mistakes or at least man up and declare he messed up but he never does and thats what disappoints me the most sometimes. Bad writing is simply bad writing, it doesnt matter if you dont like a certain character or if you want to ship something etc, the moment you start slacking on your skills as a writer is the moment people will start hating on your work and with good reasoning too. If he was pushed into doing something he didnt want to the least he could have done is just given us a straight answer about it, even so if he was forced into doing this the people pushing for this wouldve been asking for trouble considering how much crap they got. Business would want to appeal more to the fans liking ( Fanservice) and if they were in any way smart they wouldve seen how negative the reviews were of their treatment of sakura early on, not to mention the confusion brought on by the red herring tactic Kishi tried. No business would commit to something like that just because its something they like, if they wanted to keep the money coming in they wouldve continued teasing with fanservice and would try and avoid an ending like the last that ties everyone down. In my opinion there is a lot of shadiness with how this series ended and it saddens me to know that fans dont get an answer to why it ended the way it did,

#893153 What Happened During The Time Lapse At The End Of Naruto?

Posted by Emb3rs on 17 December 2015 - 05:15 AM

i still can't figure out why naruto's so ugly in his thirties.. by the time he reach jiraiya's age.. gosh.

minato's pretty boy + kushina's beautiful genes = deformed-obito-lookalike...

Thats one of the things i never understood. throughout shippuden it seemed like he was headed towards Minatos look and then boom time skip the dude looks like a whatever that is, what was kishi thinking lol so many good anime hair styles out there and you go for a low buzz cut

#892307 Best NaruSaku Fanfic?

Posted by Emb3rs on 10 December 2015 - 04:09 PM

So for the past month I have been reading Fanfics of ships i like, mainly Naruto and One Piece because those are the only animes apart from attack on titan i have watched. Im not really picky about it and usually only read short fanfics that take only a few minutes to read. I enjoyed them but it always felt too short or not great. Now i cant remember who but someone here on this website suggested the Fanfic i linked below. I left it bookmarked for about a week or so and finally got around to reading it. This fanfic was the longest one i had read. Some of the things were obviously a bit off but all around it captured some of what i loved about this ship. The only problem i had with it was some of the added characteristics the Naruto doesnt really show in the Canon.

Also i liked how it went past NS and included how Naruto was going about now that Sasuke is back and some of the awkwardness there was. It also had a plot about how they were all coming together to basically assure Naruto that he would have the support when he was ready to be Hokage.

Im trying to find more like these so if you have any in mind that are as good or better then this fanfic please do link them below. I enjoy NS and just about any ship in one piece ie LuNa LuRo LuHa ZoRo

This is the Fanfic i was talking about

#892302 So when did Kishi REALLY switch to NH?

Posted by Emb3rs on 10 December 2015 - 03:55 PM

Kishimoto isn't clear about when he decided lots of things in Naruto. I found an interview from way back in 2006 where he said he knew what he wanted to be in his ending. I feel this inability to tell us the truth makes matters worse and now he just keeps on dumping more merchandise on us and thinks we will forget. He made enemies of more then just NS fans with his ending. Anyone who justifies this ending as good will never be able to back up there judgement with a solid answer other then there own personal liking towards ships. He claims this was a red herring which would mean that ever since shippuden began he planned it. He then talks about not knowing why we like Sakura, and how he doesnt understand NS then talks about how his wife and staff supported NS. He needs to give us a straight answer. the series has been over for a year and people havent stopped complaining about it. More stories of the next gen isnt the answer to that. hell if he really is as oblivious as he sounds that means we will get another bs shipping for the next gen of Naruto too.

#892284 From NH to NS, Funny how i jumped on a ship that sank over a year ago

Posted by Emb3rs on 10 December 2015 - 06:21 AM

Intresting story.

Emb3rs, say, how it feels to know "truth" or morelike both sides of coin? Not many people can change their point of view in such a short term. Congratulaion for not being biased and have your own idea of this series!  :thumb:

I didn't have a reason to ship at the beginning other then my knowledge of the ending couples, and being only my second Anime i didn't imagine i would get so attached. Thanks to those facts i got to see many angles of it and ultimately it led me to being an NS shipper despite it having ended a year before i started watching. It makes me sad how the ending got trashed, makes me wonder if i should even continue watching it sometimes, but in the end i fell for this Anime for more then just who was gonna end up with who. I liked the fighting, their powers, their teamwork, and Narutos "Never Give Up" attitude. I keep my hopes up now for some resolution and even though fanfic isn't 100% satisfying, it does let me know how great the possibilities could be if even fans can write such wonderful and sometimes well thought out stories about the Ninja of Konoha, imagine how great a story it could be of the anime studio decided to make it real.

#892282 Kishi Made Us Hate Sakura? What do you think

Posted by Emb3rs on 10 December 2015 - 06:09 AM

@neonranger
Sakura is an ordinary girl so her backstory would be bland aka doesn't have any tragedy.
Kishi never touch her genjutsu trait.
Sakura is romance because she's the romantic subplot, but kishi could fulfill her potential instead waste it.
Kage summit doesn't have any follow up is what make her unsaveable.
I don't have anyproblem with the status quo for one side love triangle.

Kishi failed her simply because he's a bad writer who tought creating a dislikeable heroine and doesn't developing her is a good thing. And his best solution when she became hateful is making her pretty?

Makes me cringe that he treated a main character like this not to mention the fact that she can make Naruto happier then anyone most of the time.

#892281 Kishi Made Us Hate Sakura? What do you think

Posted by Emb3rs on 10 December 2015 - 06:07 AM

@Emb3rs: I watch the Sakura rants, and I completely agree with them...in a way. Most notably, King of Lightning's video and another by a small YT channel (Sasuke419). I also read another arguments in a website about why Sakura's character is so hated compared to Hinata.

Sakura is the main character, the heroine. Hinata is a secondary character. Our expectations are completely different for these two based on the roles they play. You can go on tumblr and on other forums, and talk to anti-NH, SNS, and even some NS, and most have told me that they would have been okay with Hinata/NH if she had more of a role into the story besides "Naruto-Kun". Even YT's like Forneverworld said that in his one review that Hinata's too much about Naruto in one of his rants. A lot of people prefer Hinata over Sakura, especially in the west.

Here are the reasons: (Compare)

Sakura (Heroine):

- lack of a proper backstory

- still in love with Sasuke despite all the kitten he's done.

- even though she's been developing feelings for Naruto, she still has a soft spot for Sasuke,

- 5 Kage Summit Arc disaster (a lot of people dropped Sakura since that Arc)

- lack of a propar character outside of romance (Kishi flipped flopped to the point where her character ended up only about romance instead of so much more)

- IMO, she's a Tsunade 2.0 compared to Sasuke and Naruto (she has no original skills compared to them even if they were asspulls)

- the anime depict her as a self-centered witch who is caught between the love of two men (there was a Naruto filler where Sakura question who would she save, Sasuke or Naruto, and A LOT of people slammed there faces in the wall; like really?)

- the anime/ movie also exaggerated her character to the point where she is unlikable (Kishi only made in worst with the manga). I didn't like the meaningless fillers and movies where she would punch Naruto, Sai, or Lee just because. She had only punched Naruto for reason of his stupidity, and punched Sai once (or twice?) for reasons that were explained, and she never hit Lee at all. The anime alone ruined her character for me.

- there's more, but the list would be even longer...

Hinata: (Secondary)

- ch. 432(436?) where she jumped in front of Pain for Naruto

- ch. 615 (offered support for Naruto at a important point of time)

- she had a decent backstory, that was dropped for "Naruto-Kun" in part 2

- her personality is bland but likable compared to Sakura.

- anime makes her into okatu fanservice and exaggerates her character (Pain Arc, like you're really adding more than the mangaka himeself?) and made her a little more important then necessary.

- she's is in love with a boy who as only ever been nice to everyone around him.

- HUGE point: she is not in love with Sasuke, like AT ALL.

- The Last ruined her character a lot.

Hinata is irrevelent to the plot; that's why people don't like Hinata after The Last came out. There were shocked she had this much of a role in her life. But people never cared for and even liked her before than  compared to Sakura she was failed potential since part 1.

Sakura is a main character; we have more expectations for her compared to Hinata. I'm sorry, but she lost a huge amount of her following after the Summit Arc, and even more so after 693.

I feel like by pushing for this NH ship Kishi ultimately made lots of characters look bad. Naruto for one is known for never giving up and if he is adamant about something he wont give up until the matter is solved. He wouldn't just turn his back on Sakura he would most likely confront her about how he feels and have an actual discussion about there future. Hinata could of had a much bigger role even as a side character. Her family is one of the most powerfull clans of Konoha and she is the heir. Im sure something could have been done, even a really good canon movie. Sakura was trashed the worst because after the pain arc she relapsed back to the fangirl  we all disliked. She had really good development and as a member of team 7 she should have been treated with more care. Sasuke was also brought down a bit because he wouldnt be willing to revive his clan with someone he has bad blood with. You can argue that true love conquers all but there is a limit and attempted murder is that limit. Not to mention he shows little to no love more like team love like he does with Naruto. In the end Its just terrible i wish it didnt end like this but it seems hopeless now seeing as how they are pushing for the next gen of Konoha as a sequal when they should rework this BS fans were put through

#892006 Kishi Made Us Hate Sakura? What do you think

Posted by Emb3rs on 08 December 2015 - 08:07 AM

Makes me think there should be a "What Would You Do?" bit where unsuspecting pro-enders/NH extremists find themselves tailed by a "stalker" (obviously actors) who then claims to have always admired and watched them and all that Hinata-style crap that those people claim is "cute", including the stuttering and all that, and I'm willing to bet that a majority of those people will NOT find it cute if that happened to them in real life, but would indeed find it creepy, disturbing, and probably even call those people losers and such unless they're extremely beautiful and/or rich and such, thus revealing their complete hypocrisy (as usual).

Hence the big bust on Hinata, also they are quick to forget how much more believable, even if its cliche, NS could have been. they had years of development and the both grew up and matured with each other.

#891994 Kishi Made Us Hate Sakura? What do you think

Posted by Emb3rs on 08 December 2015 - 06:06 AM

Her non-existent character in a nutshell also where did you find this, I'd like to Naruhina fans and proenders this and see what they say.

Ive seen them answer these things and they will usually say that it wasnt a creepy stalker obsession and that it was cute. i hate it when they do this because they will trash sakura on a her style of caring for her friends, like hitting them, but will gladly defend anything that goes against Hinata. everyone has a bad side to them and just because you want to dissuade people from certain ships you shouldnt be blind to facts no matter how much they contradict yours. i always admit to the facts of Sakuras defects even if i like NS now

#891626 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Emb3rs on 06 December 2015 - 07:00 AM

i love this interview because in response to whether his family is more like the SS or NH family, he says neither because his wife is strong—meaning sakura is not a strong character in SS. straight from the horse's mouth, guys.

beautiful cosplay photo btw.

not to mention that he said he wanted to mislead fans into thinking it was ns. how could he NOT cause controversy if he deliberately fooled fans into believing it would be ns, only to reveal otherwise in the end?

also, have you heard nh fans' arguments against nh being decided on in the "middle" of the story? because, according to them, before, he said he "planned" nh from the start, which is different from "deciding" on it. apparently. and iirc he never actually used the term "plan" when referred to nh, always "decided." he at first said he decided on nh a "long time ago" (very vague, could mean anything from a year to ten years), then said he decided on nh in "quite an early stage" in the story (lol). later he said that nh was decided when he began part 2 (which imo most people think of as the middle of the story, even though technically it's not). that's the most specific he's gotten. and while i don't believe he decided on them that early—definitely not—in general i would be more inclined to believe his later interviews, because he probably didn't prep for them as he did for the ones directly after the manga ended.

also thanks for that scarf info hanabi. just more evidence that kishimoto is a liar.

I wouldn't trust anything Kishimoto says because he is vague in all his answers. I remember i read an interview from back in 2006 were he said he had planned out how he wanted his ending to happen already. Furthermore we aren't fans because we fell for his red herring we are fans because we like Sakura more, Hinata is extremely underdeveloped, and the fact that one day he says he doesnt understand why there are sakura fans or how we fell for his red herring then come up and say his own staff and wife wanted NS makes anyone think wtf.

one of my biggest dislikes of Kishimoto is the fact that he felt the need to trash a main character to get his ship in the end. Even going as far as to say Sakura married a guy who tried to kill her and even at that point is distant and his compassion for her doesnt even cover an inch of what Naruto gave throughout the series i will never understand why he was so adamant about that ship sailing. He has admitted to being bad at writing romance and seeing how this ended its obvious he didnt seek advice or help from anyone.

He finally wraps it up in Naruto The Last by spitting at even non shippers by saying that Narutos love for Sakura was only because of rivalry with Sasuke. Non shippers trash the ending because of how rushed and undeveloped it is and the only people applauding the ending are those blinded by the NH win and those who like to argue about something that was never developed.

#891623 From NH to NS, Funny how i jumped on a ship that sank over a year ago

Posted by Emb3rs on 06 December 2015 - 06:39 AM

Hi NaruSaku fandom my name is Alex, I wanted to write about how I became an NS shipper. Before I get started I feel I should state the fact that I’ve only caught up to episode 312 of Naruto Shippuden, I watch dubbed, and have seen every movie up to Road to Ninja. I have not read the Manga but have some knowledge thanks to many conversations with all kinds of fans in the past month and some research of my own.

I guess its best to begin back when I convinced myself to add another Anime to my watch list having only ever watched Attack On Titan up to that point. This was back in October 2015. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the show even though my friends said I should reconsider watching the dubbed version and switch to sub, I didn’t. Almost immediately after I started watching I bet that Naruto and Hinata were going to have some sort of romance. I saw a shy girl in the corner crushing hard on Naruto and silently supporting him. I wanted to know what relationships were going to build up and unfortunately spoiled it for myself. I saw the final ending couples but because I had only started I was anxious to see these characters develop.

Throughout the first part of Naruto, 220 episodes, I realized who the main characters were, what some of the main goals are and started to see what the characters where going to strive to achieve by the time Shippuden started. I was a little disappointed, at the time, that Hinata didn’t really have a major part in the beginning and even at that point I started to like how Sakura slowly started warming up to Naruto, but I thought this was natural considering they were a team. When I got to the end I saw each character set a goal for themselves that would improve them and mature them into great Ninja. I Was excited to see how they would change in Shippuden

So I get to Shippuden and quickly see more of Sakuras development in her skill and with Naruto. I liked it of course and though if they developed this much, apart from Naruto still being somewhat immature, I cant wait to see everyone else and Hinata. Immediately I realized she really hasn’t changed. I start getting into the Rescue Kazekage Arc and absolutely loved how much more importance was put into Sakuras development. She was quick to act when saving Kankuro and was brave when fighting Sasori. Sakura became one of my favorite characters at that point.

Finally it happened I became an NS fan during the Tenchi Bridge Arc. Mostly due to fillers and funny moments in the anime, I really started to think about how they were going to separate these two to make NH happen. I was introduced to Sai and off we went to see the Akatsuki spy. At this point Sakura sees the 9 tails cloak for the first time and assesses the situation. She starts to notice that Naruto is in pain. She worries for his safety and hopes he goes back to normal without to much problems. I couldn’t stop watching at this point. When I saw Sakura run to Naruto, I though wow this is the girl who hated Naruto at the start I never thought they would get this far in their relationship. After Yamato gets Naruto out of his 9 tails cloak Sakura rushes to his aid. When I heard her ask Yamato to teach her how to restrain the 9 tails I knew she had definitely developed a bond with Naruto and wanted nothing more then to protect him. The moment Yamato was about to say what everyone was thinking was when I started searching for answers about NaruSaku online. I was in love with this pairing and was kind of disappointed that Hinata hadn’t gotten even a quarter of the percent of development Sakura got. I read countless comments and info pages explaining that the Pain Arc was the beginning of NH shipping. I thought well damn I love NS now too but if this is going to be the beginning of it then I cant wait to start seeing NH.

The rest is pretty much the normal reaction every fan had. Hinata said I love you was ignored and Sakura hugs Naruto. Everything after that was about trashing Sakura making her look bad and NH was ignored until Sakura was hated enough to make NH happen.

Funny how i jumped on a ship that sank over a year ago i think now. If someone as new as me jumps on board all the while knowing full well its sunk how can Kishimoto look at fans like me and say he doesnt get it and is very happy with his ending.

I was kind of scared to join this fandom because of the bad name it had. Everywhere I looked, you tube and twitter etc, I saw crazy fans want to ban Naruto, Crazy fan sends death threats and more. NS had a bad name no thanks to things like that. The worst part is now everyone seems to associate every NS fan to those crazy fanatics who went to far. I don’t think ive had one conversation on you tube were at least one person brings that up.

I understand NS was never going to happen due to how late I am to this series but Kishimoto never gives us an honest answer to this bs that broke a wonderful series. In the end it feels so rushed that I question how any of what was said in Naruto the Last is canon. I sometimes feel the need to say more then I should but I feel like its in vain. I wish he would answer us with a solid answer and no bs. I realize now why some fans went that far but I feel like those actions made some NS shippers stay quiet to avoid being partnered with the NS fans who did all the crazy stuff.

I hope to someday understand why Kishimoto rushed to such a terrible ending. He claimed that he was tired of writing and wanted a short break but that’s no reason to just end a series. I’m sure that even some NH fans would have preferred Kishimoto taking the time to think things through rather then just rush out the final chapters to keep a schedule.
