Actually given shonen tropes and the themes of the manga to date it may very well be exactly something like that. Tsunade firing up Sakura by reminding her of her promises to naruto, and pushing her harder then before.

But like i said, i don't think we'll see NS within 10 chapters. Kishi has proven that time settings don't mean anything to this manga. So things may start slow back down. (Probably when Sasuke appears )

Well Sakura is 16 probably close to 17 in the Manga.

I can't remember the exact year Kishimoto created Sakura so I'd still say she is much younger going by the time Kishi created her to now.

But to answer your question, the age of the character in the manga is irrelevant to the age Kishimoto started drawing her in real-life.

Well, the timeline in the Manga is obviously different. Since the begining of Part 2, it's probably been... Hmm... Not too sure, maybe something like 5-6 months?
