Sakura as a character? Sure. Sakura as a plot device to show Sasuke I couldnt give two kitten shakes about this woman before Uchiha actually is jealous/ protective of his wife is another issue. Especially since said moment is not actually in character with Sakura in the first place because like I said, she should have punched any perpatrator of molestation/assault a dozen feet away. She did that when she was 12 so why not now? And perhaps Sasuke and Sakura being a couple is something that all of us should at least be indifferent to at best, I admit it but they are not like Naruto and Hinata. Their relationship up til their marriage was toxic, plain and simple. It does not erase chapter 693. It does not erase Sasuke trying to kill Sakura at least twice in the Kage Summit Arc. It does not erase Sakura turning into a sobbing depressed mess whenever Sasuke is brought up after the time skip. Most of all it does not erase the fact that Sakura regressed to her 12 year old self because she got her dream man back. And you know what turns me off to it now? The fact that Sasuke said sorry but he hasnt changed. Hes still mostly indifferent to Sakura and he left her alone to essentially play overworked single mom and barely if ever shows up to be part of his familys lives.If he actually tried to better himself and attmempt to be a family man as best he can, instead of being a vagabond spy, I wouldnt be complaining. And you know Im not making this up. As for Reading because you want to see Sakura moments, sure. But for how long I wonder? How long will she she be relevant to the plot and how long will or until we see the strong and intelligent Sakura Haruno we all love? Shes already been reduced to damsel in distress so Sasuke can have his manly, hands off my woman! moment so Im not too hopeful for much considering it is essentially a SS fanfic. Yes anyone is welcome to look past old wounds to objectively enjoy it but I cant. Now yes I get that if there is anyone not even willing to try it theyre better off refraining from commenting altogether but I just want to express my opinions. Dont let me stop you though, I have nothing against anyone liking it.

+1. They tried to kill each other in the past, furthermore Sasuke tried without hesitation. Its the toxic relationship context on which their interactions is built upon that turns off rationale female readers. Clearly not their target demographic with this story. Although its clear they are targeting female SS old fans.

Im waiting for the manga sales to come out. Theres a past study that reveals 67% of manga readers are female. Therefore series like Spy x Family picked up very well the series reached 500 million views in Shonen Jump+ , with 10 volumes, it has 27 million copies in circulation (physical) while its digital version was ranked 5th on Rakuten's Top 20 Best Selling Digital Manga of 2022. Since its targeting female readers, I think we can use Spy x Family as a benchmark and mental model for this spinoffs sales performance. Well see.

People are free to enjoy whichever content theyre interested in. True contribution to the franchise is demonstrated by purchasing their products, not just debating online.

Guys actually Sakura was used as damsel in distress to show NS or Naruto so many times both in Anime filler and manga.

The most famous exemple was when  Sasuke was exausted from his fight against Danzou and Kages, was blind and a 100% Sakura who fought against Sasori and 100 pupets have to be saved. If Sakura  didn't want to hurt Sasuke, she could easily simple dodge that Kunai instead of be saved by Naruto like a princess.

Sasuke broke a sound guy arm for hurting Sakura and  was willing to sacrifice himself to save her in Part 1 when he was actually a sane person. So i really don't see a problem with him being "protective" with Sakura in a story focused on both, now they are married.

 

 

 

I have Nothing against Hinata, ikemoto or Boruto.
She is a Secondary  Character and Boruto is simply  a desperate attempt to continue Naruto.

Hinata's  toxic fanboys who are daily bullying Sakura and tried to downplay Sakura's status as main heroine make me hate her fandom.


Most of the fanboys hate Sakura, SasuSaku and NaruSaku because both are always  outshining Hinata and NH.
So aside to finally see Sakura in action again, it's nice to see a story showing that Sakura is the true main heroine. Puting Hinata's fanboys in their place.

 

Well there is that yes, But at least that was not to force NS down our throats, now is it? Not to mention Sakura wasn't in a position to defend herself because she still was in emotional turmoil against Sasuke and Sasuke was going in for the kill at that very moment so it was split second. It was why he disarmed her so easily in the first place. So that was understandable and it DIDN'T have to be a pure NS moment. That was a necessity. A pure NS moment would be like when Sakura hugged Naruto in front of the whole village. Sasuke did not break the Sound member's arm to protect Sakura he did it in revenge for her battered and bruised face and that was not an SS moment that shows he wasn't really himself and Sakura wanted him to calm down. the moment I'm talking about though, Sakura was perfectly capable of protecting herself and didn't really need intervention just like in early part 1 during the land of waves arc when that random character groped her butt/ reached for her bag in the anime. I'm not not against the moment of protecting Sakura because they are married more than the notion that they need to play it out like that to make a convenient excuse to show Sasuke actually cares when normally he couldn't care less. If I'm bad at explaining myself, I apologize but, after everything that I've seen and all that I went through I can't see this couple in a positive light. Not after WHAT WAS SACRIFICED to make them canon and NH canon. Sakura's personal CD and the notion Naruto saw her as a trophy to win from Sasuke when we all KNOW that was never the case. For that excuse to work Sasuke would have had to be at least a bit interested in Sakura which by the way is completely false.

 

Again, read it for appreciation of Sakura as a character by all means, But I'm not convinced it will do her justice because after this new gen project she, like all other original characters from the original series became irrelevant. And I don't see any romantic moments she could have with Sasuke ever since they married "as romantic and positive" because Sasuke never fixed himself or the negative impact he brought on their relationship.

 

And if you think I'm being too harsh, Let me give you an example of " a Sasuke done right". There is the manga called "Good Ending" where the MC has a crush on a classmate of his but she ended up going out with another guy. That guy was cheating on her and hurt her several times in the story but guess what, they got back together in the ending because 1. The MC was with his actual love interest and 2. The guy in question with the initial crush was actually trying to change himself and prove that he was a better person to earn back the girl's love and trust. More mundane than Naruto, but you get my point. Sasuke never has, any point done any of that.

I didnt see Sasuke attempt to abandon her not one time in this chapter. Thats about as out of character as he gets.

I'm enjoying this so far. At some point  you guys gotta get over the pairings to be honest. I have no feelings seeing SasuSaku and ya'll should do the same.  I'm here for Sakura content.

To be honest, since I have to do the summaries. I'm somewhat analyze/critical of it, but even ignoring that the story is average at best. It's too reliant on contrivances that could have been fix with a few rewrites. The other side manga is superior in my opinion and I think its first chapter should be erased.

 

The only one of the three manga I even dislike is Boruto and that because I've been doing summaries for 6 year with nothing happening because the writer clear does not put in any effort unless someone higher up is breathing down his neck, and he does not respect or care for his audience.

 

I don't have a problem with SS nor do I with nH in of its self. Though, I do dislike people in that fan base. Anyways.

 

Listen forgiveness does not mean embracing it.  What crime has SS done to me that needs forgiveness? What, it was one of the pairing the damaged a manga series that I bought merchandise of when I was younger. OK. Oh and it wasn't even the intended end pairing, that was nH, but a pairing of the spares with the former heroine being stripped of her position. Again, OK. Honestly, I find it more pathetic, if someone completely abandons a previous stance, just because this story was decent at best. Does anyone seriously want people to read this manga and go. "Oh I was completely wrong for Twenty years, this manga proves that Sasuke and Sakura are the most perfect couple to have ever been written, and I completely support it for the rest of my life!" This manga is not good enough for that.

 

Its better than Boruto, congratulations. It managed to pass that low bar.

Boruto was the intended sequel for Naruto. They were expecting it to be profitable. These side manga are the desperate attempt at seeing if there is a market for Naruto content.

 

The old fanbase didn't have a problem with Sakura, only a vocal minority. The old fanbase left with the ending and all are left with SS, nH, and fans too addicted to quit.

 

Now, those two bits out of the way. Lets compare Naruto rescuing Sakura to the stupid attempted prison rape scene so they can proclaim their marriage to some guy. Naruto saving Sakura tends to flow into the story whether its during the fight with Gaara or when Sasuke was about to kill her for getting in his way, again. The scene in this manga is absurd. 1) there are no guards protecting the medical ward, 2) what happened to the guard that was escorting him, 3) they hid Sasuke just to set up the scene, 4) they for some reason need to tell him they are married for some reason, 5) somehow telling him that they are married will protect her due to I guess the Guy Code or something. As for her in combat, we will see but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much.

They gave him a scene where he gives a guy a pass just to show he is a good guy now that felt out of places.

I do hope it does better than Boruto, which shouldn't be that hard. Just so, it completely buries, 'the Hinata sell better that Sakura,' narrative in those companies, if it hasn't been already.

 

Women reading rationally may not like it, but women reading it as smut and just wanting to fantasize about dreamy bad boys will probably love it.

In my mind, it's the equivalent of watching Harry Potter and Voldemort galavanting around hogwarts like they're old chums simply because the writer said so. It's not about pairings; it's about good writing. And the character assassination Kishimoto had to do to get these characters to this point makes it very hard to read.🤣🤣🤣

Yes and the artist of the other side manga Natsuo Sai is also able to copy the feel of Kishimoto's style as well. So, did many of the anime staff since kishi intentionally made his art style easy to copy.

 

Ikemoto problem is he doesn't want to do it either because he wants to do his own thing or he is lazy.

 

Again, I'm just seeing this as over praising for something really basic.

Aparently NaruHina and Hinata fans are bitter and angry as ever with this adaptation from Retsuden story.

First because they choosen SasuSaku story.

Second because it's doing supreendelly well, with better numbers than Boruto, what shows that SasuSaku, Sasuke or Sakura is much more  financially successful than NaruHina and the own Boruto.

Sakura is doing something important like fighting in a mission and being a medic-nin not just a useless HouseWife like Hinata.

Also Hinata scenes was completely excluded from the special Naruto's 20 years video comemoration while they put Sakura moments and SasuSaku departure scene.

Ash will likely never end up with anyone because his story will never end. He exist to sell current Pokemon game. So he is often reset. There is a new pokemon game out right now which means he has probably be reset again if he hasn't already.

They finally let Ash become the world champion in the recent episodes so I think him getting with Serena and us seeing a timeskip is pretty likely at this point. Also, looks like he is about to catch Mew.

Him ending up with Serena is something I'd love to see happen, but like you I think the closest we'll get to it being canon is through a time skip. 

 

Especially out of all the travel companions,  Serena is the only one who kissed Ash lip to lip. 

 

 

I know some have said Serena is like the Hinata for Pokemon, and I would honestly have to disagree because there's a lot of traits Serena showcases that's opposite to what Hinata had in Naruto, but that's just my two cents.

Yeah, nothing like a taste of OC Sasuke acting as protector of Sakura, cool story, a cherry on top of Boruto. Even a closer-to-kishimoto look, time to drag Sakura throught another "they are happy together, she fixed him" story for her.

Seeing Sasuke save her from a rapey situation, I honestly just feel nothing. Not even the slightest bit of cringe. Just nothing now. 

 

I don't really like how she looks though. I guess it's the prominent eye lines. She looks old. And tired. And worn out. Much like Naruto itself is.
