Since the one shot where Orochimaru went on an analogy/tangent about him being a sake cup. I think they are skipping it since the next episode after he appear is  called "the final lesson."

I occasionally wonder how the Japanese audience feels towards this, since they were his original audience before Naruto took off enormously. It feels like only Americans/internationals are hyped about this...

I know that they didn't like how Naruto was ended with The Last also. I remember seeing a photo of Japanese fans holding orange and pink balloons in large number. Don't know who has this pic.
As for Boruto series, I know there aren't significant amount of followers. I think 4life knows better about this.

I haven't check on it for a while, so I don't know. The best I can say is the rating didn't appear in top 10.

Not dragging myself back into any shipping bs after what happened with Naruto and I agree with everyone. The series is missing the heart the original series had before we had what happened with the Pain arc.
