Barring him winning a second term and massively turning things around, he's going to go down as a bad president; and no amount of complaining about how he was put in a bad position by Bush is going to change that.

How in the world would he go down as a bad president?

He has managed to stabilize a rapidly sinking economy that he did inherit from Bush. He's repealed 'Don't Ask/Don't Tell'. He's passed universal healthcare for almost all Americans. Just because the loudest dissenters don't like it doesn't stop it from going into effect. And I really don't feel like going into the 'All Things Politics' thread and digging out the massive list that's already posted there, of all the things Obama has done as President. Even though I generally don't like the guy personally, I can at least acknowledge that he's done a decently good job as President so far. And to say that he will remembered as a bad President is fairly laughable.

Though they say its "a lot" "extensive" or "huge" in articles I've read today.

Tapes show bin Laden watching video on a TV and using a computer, so despite the lack of a local internet connection, he likely would be able to watch his hoard of adult entertainment while he lounged in his compound, which was also reportedly home to at least two of his five wives.

The drives with the porn on them were found strewn around his compound reportedly, along with some common pharmaceutical products like aspirin and several tubs of Vaseline.

It is not clear where the porn came from or what kind of porn was in bin Laden's treasure trove, but it's likely it was delivered from internet cafes by bin Laden's Al Qaeda cohorts. In some Middle Eastern nations like Saudi Arabia watching pornography commands severe corporal punishment. Of course, the ruling royalty of the nation often ignores such provisions -- like provisions banning alcohol.

Islam's holy book, The Qur'an, like the Bible, contains passages that are interpreted by strict denominations to mean that pornography is sinful. Thus most Islamic churches -- like fundamentalist branches of Christianity -- forbid their members from viewing it.

Much as he grossly violated his own security procedures that he authored in Al Qaeda's handbook -- potentially costing his associates their freedom -- bin Laden appears to have grossly violated central tenants of the radical religion for which he was willing to kill. Hopefully that revelation, along with the wealth of digital information obtained by U.S. Intelligence will deter future would-be terrorists.

Well, I haven't cross-checked it with other clerics of the sort, but I'm taking his word for it. Why don't you go ahead and ask the local mosque to have them explain it?? and while you're at it, you can convert as well if you want to.

And regarding the whole watching-porn-is-sinful thing, it's kind of all right. As long as you swear it off later at a certain point in your lifetime and pray for Allah's forgiveness.

I'm willing to bet the stash of porn likely comes from the younger members, not the man himself.
