Listening to Disturbed's The Lost Children. Gotta say, for an album composed entirely of b-sides, it's just as good as their other albums (in general, that is).

It's not technically new stuff, more of a mix of new and old. It does kick ass regardless, though.
And nice, when did you start?

I really need a new computer soon... This netbook probably won't last much longer.

I've been looking for laptops like that. So far, the top runner is a Macbook Pro.

Now you're talking my language, I've had a Macbook myself for the last three years, and it was the best decision I made since it hasn't gone out yet. biggrin.gif

Wow, nice. Yeah, looking through Windows laptops, I have yet to find one that seems like it'd fully compete with the Mac.

I like Macs more because their reliability has always been better than Windows computers, but that's not saying Windows computers are bad.

Oh, I know. The Windows computers just tend to be less well-rounded, from what I've seen. A focus on power, a focus on battery life, a focus on appearance... whereas Macs are just all-around.

Mac vs. PC thread? unsure.gif

Just kidding, I'm not gonna start that. I guess it depends on what your intended use is, and how much money you plan to spend. I can't speak for all tech fields, but I remember seeing my engineering professors while in college laugh at students trying to run high-end simulation software on their iMacs. In all fairness though, you'd probably see the exact opposite sort of thing in the music or design industry.

Basically, if you got the money, and you like the computers, I'd say go for the iMac, if you really want it. One of my roommates has an iMac, and the other has an iPad, and they're both obsessed with them. For me personally, though, my main issue is the price factor. I've been using the same $400 PC for five years, and I only occasionally have issues with it, so I can't really justify spending three times as much on a new iMac. tongue.gif

Whatever you choose, though, good luck finding a new comp!

$400? No problems for five years? Wait, is it a desktop or a laptop?
And thanks biggrin.gif

It's actually a Dell Inspiron laptop. I hear so many people complain about them, but the only problem I've had with mine was the battery, which I replaced for around $100, and the small C drive, which I just bought an external for. I think the key is just to delete all the random start-up programs that are pre-loaded on, and just download free anti-virus, anti-malware, and registry cleaners online.
Are you looking for a new laptop to replace your netbook? My mom got a netbook on a whim a couple years ago, and I remember absolutely despising that thing when she asked me to set it up for her. It's so TINY! argh1.png

Oh wow, an Inspiron. Huh. Well, my mom has a Gateway laptop that I'm guessing is pretty similar to the Inspiron and it lags like crazy sometimes. That's cool though, such a cheap laptop having served you so well.

And yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. I can't stand this thing anymore. I don't mind the size, but it's the lack of power that bugs me.

I have a Sony VAIO and my brother has an old Toshiba with only a dual core but recently got his custom made Alienware. smile.gif So what kind of laptop are you specifically looking for?

A laptop with long battery life, small enough build (15 inches at most), an internal optical drive, a built-in webcam and mic, and power to back all of that up.
