Noticed PSN has been down for almost a week. I know it started Wednesday, because I couldn't get on too play DC online. I figured they were doing some basic upgrade or something. Didn't try to get on since then because of work. I try to get on today and its still down. Check the web to see whats going on and find a bunch of threads on different gaming sights and many other people are complaining about the same issue.

Does anybody know whats going on with the PS network? Because I can't find any straight answers.

Thanks for that shadow. Straightest answer I've had. For reasons unknown to me, some people are saying its a group of hackers wanting revenge against Sony for some reason. Thats what I've been finding mostly.

What really annoys me is the "We are doing it for the gamers" attitude they seem to take, well the people you are hurting IS the gamers Pal...

At least according to ^. Sony has said though that it was caused by an "external intrusion." Well, I don't care who or what's causing it, they better have it up, goddamn it.

These are the type of people who say "the end justifies the means" and gamers are "acceptable casualties." They throw up the banner of doing it for someone else when in reality they're using it as an excuse to reap havoc on Sony for their own personal vendetta.

Yeah, Sony are in a heap full of drama and they still trying to fix it. I feel sorry for people, including my friends whom own a PS3, that can't go online. Can you even imagine if I own a PS3 and try unlocking my Mortal Kombat DLC bonuses today?

Hasn't PSN been taken out before? If I recall, someone called Geo Had did it a few years ago. I'm shocked though that Sony wasn't even encrypting the credit card numbers. Anyone who knew what they were doing could have gone in and taken some rather sensitive information fairly easily. Great security, Sony.

No, Geo was one of 2 people who jailbroke the PS3. He and Sony settled it outside of court, but Anonymous attacked PSN for a few days before it was settled. It wasn't too destructive, people were locked out of PSN for 2 hours at most. Now, this is a different issue.

Well it's a good thing I decided to come on here and noticed this particular topic, cause I was going to log onto the Network today. Why Hackers WHY!!!!!!!! Anywho, this better be solved or worked out soon....
