I seem to be having a problem with the music bar. Two actually.

The first thing isn't so much of a problem, but I would like to ask... is there any way the sound quality can be bumped up? I've noticed that the sound is the equivalent to a regular 240p video on YouTube, the lowest quality a video can be played at. Again, it doesn't bother me too much, but it would be nice to listen to some clear, good quality music, so I want to know if it's possible to make the sound quality better. happy.gif

The second thing, my main concern in regards to the music bar, is that it isn't actually popping up on the page as a music bar. It always seems to be appearing like this:

And I am unable to play the music. It's not only with my music bar, but even with the other users who have embedded a music bar in their signatures or elsewhere.

Does it have anything to do with the browser I'm using? I have Firefox 11.0, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 9. No matter which one I go on, the music bar appears like the image I've posted above. sad.gif

Is anyone experiencing the same problem?

Yeah I am, like it only shows the name of the music and there isnt any bar to actually click to play the music.

Well, I don't think I'm having problems with the bar itself, but I do mind the 240p quality and that I would like it to be at 360p (if possible). Something that I would not have said last year, because I had slower internet at that time.

Yeah I also got the same problem with the youmusic just becoming a link to the youtube vid instead of being a music bar that only plays the audio. I thought it was a temporary error but it has been like this for months now.

Ah, it looks like Youtube just changed their player code. facepalm.png

I'm sorry I can't do anything about it right now, as I have to go to work in a minute, but I will check it out after I get home! Hopefully it will just need a simple fix. happy.gif

Testing now:

OK, it works for me, so hopefully it's fixed for now. smile.gif I just inserted some code to stop the player hiding the controls, and hid the title info as well. I'll have to tell the H&E server to rebuild the code in the old posts, which will take a while. Hopefully, that will fix the problem in the old posts!

EDIT: I've rebuilt the posts and signatures, but it hasn't updated the music players in the old posts. They should work fine if you edit your signatures and posts, but I will try to see if there is any way to automatically update them later.

I just tried it on my sig, and it works now! What's even better is that the volume is adjustable on the bar. I don't think it was adjustable on the old ones.

Many thanks Smiter~! biggrin.gif

On a side note... nice song choice for testing the bar. fu.png

No problem. biggrin.gif

I believe I have figured out a way to update the music code in the old posts, but I won't be able to do it until Friday/Saturday. Simply put, I'm going to have to dive into H&E's database and do some search and replaces.

Good to hear you approve of the song choice. wink.gif

I've done some investigating on this. Unfortunately, Youtube have installed new code that checks the size of the video player - if it's too small, it will not play. sad.gif

Unfortunately, it looks like there's no way around it, so we'll need to find an alternative music player or we'll have to retire the music player code.

EDIT: For now, I've disabled the music player code.

EDIT 2: All fixed, thanks to Dreamer. biggrin.gif
