The once great human society has fallen, if you want to destroy the youth of today, just jam their mobile signal.

As if this was bad.
Give it 10 years and you'll have people not even leaving the house to live. And getting money to stay indoors.

LOL and I thought that I was the only one. I prefer texting in proper grammar, for the most part mostly because I don't like abbreviating and it gives me a hard time when other people send me messages full of abbreviations =.= Plus, it's always a plus for me since I have lots of papers to write that I can type normally without hitting backspace every few words because I used an abbreviation subconsciously XD

Anybody think of that Wall-E movie? Super fat humans sitting on a hover chair just to move around and open a video screen just to talk to the person hovering next to them...

I used to do that when I had a flip phone, but when the keyboards became available I started to use proper grammar and fully type out my sentences. The only problem I have now is that when I type too fast I end up hitting the wrong key on my touch screen and then hitting backspace more often then ever before XD

Texting is okay and all, but it should NOT distract you from other important things in life.
Texting in dinner and texting in school? Not a good idea once again. DX You should learn how to divide your time properly. XD

Aside from the bad stuff, I just hope she spends her $50,000 well. Not for texting. She should spend it more wisely, maybe for her family, charity, or something else that can help other people. I hope she makes the right decision.

"For the Des Moines, Iowa, teenager, her 14,000 texts-per-month habit reaped its own rewards, landing her the competition prize of $50,000 just eight months after she got her first cell phone."
14,000. 14,000 text messages.
I somehow feel that reward won't last long. At all.

You have a point there, actually.
But, in my opinion, she should stop texting for a while. And rest her eyes AND her fingers. I think that they're both mad at her now, for putting them in such a hard situation.
Otherwise, I agree that the prize money won't last long.
14,000 text messages--What do you think her parents did about that?
