#687771 The Last: Naruto the Movie: Thread 2 aka The Last retcon: Hinata-sama the movie

Didn't Kishi say he wanted to continue being a mangaka? Does that not require people to admire your skill in writing? How can he hope to sell anything if he keeps disappointing his fans like this?

#681811 Thank you, Sakura-Chan

Oh wow. You know that feeling you get in your chest when you read something heart wrenching. This was truly that. I really like your writing style. It leaves me wanting to read so much more. Keep up the amazing work. :)

#681793 Sakura Haruno appreciation tread.

Before the manga ended I hoped to see Sakura in combat again, this time without anybody. Especially with that new seal. I wanted to see her battle tactics, her determination to fight like in the battle with Sasori. I wanted to see her focusing on he own strengths for once.

What I got. Naruto, Sasuke and Kakashi having their shining moments in the fight with Kaguya. I waited for Sakura to use her newly obtained skills to do something combat related, but she hardly got any screentime. Kishimoto honestly forgot about her.

Now instead I am forces to witness a side character gain new footing while she ha done nothing to improve herself substantially.

So what are the chances Kishi realizing how much he f**cked up and retcon the ending at some point in the future with one that...you know....is actually consistent?

He might. Many authors have admitted things they would've liked to have done differently. However, I think the chances of that happening are low. It seems like he's lost many fans just because of Naruto. If this guy wants to continue being a mangaka, he better not say anything else for sake of his reputation. That is, if he plans on creating any more new series.

Another reason I think so is because he does not seem to care. As many people have have said, the start of Naruto was great. It had heart, plot and the makings of an amazing manga. Come Part 2, an he manages to deviate from what he established in previous chapters. Many of the things he added were unnecessary. What was the point of the Kaguya arc? Sis we really learn anything we didn't know? Woukd we have guessed that Naruto and Sasuke were Indra and Ashura's reincartions? What is the point of death and loss if you're just going to Edo-tensei them back to life? Just, what is the use? Thee isn't any. Kishimoto just wanted to prolong it.

You would think that the ending for a manga as legendary as Naruto would get a thematic ending, with Team 7 and the previous gen, resolutions and so on. What we got was two chapters full of OOC characters, new ones, and only resolution of the pairings. and skyscrapers . This is not something that someone who loves his story woukd do. It's simple really. Kishi gave up on himself and his work whike we, being the loyal fans that we are, didn't guve up on him.

It would be a dream come true!
I always though team seven would be regarded as the new sannin, each one of them a legend
But no, Naruto is a bitter Hokage, Sasuke is a hobo wanderer (not to bad actually) and worst of all, Sakura's a housewife!!!
I mean there is no problem with her being a housewife and kitten but its the last time we are seeing her in the manga and she is fighting kittening dust bunnies??!

Yeah, I know. That's what hit me the most honestly. Housewife Sakura. I don't know. They could've easily drawn doctors, her wearing a labcoat, something, ya know? Instead we get a feather duster.

From the spoilers, it seems Sakura has like5 minutes max, and Sasuke even less than that.

I wonder what kind of fans they're hoping to attract besides NH. They've basically elimated all the popular character from the equation sans Hinata. Kakashi, Itachi, Sasuke, Orochimaru, Akatsuki... The list goes on. Is this really supposed to lure a new generation of viewers?

Right. I forgot. Hinata was always his favourite character. That's why she didn't appear so much. Kishimoto only wanted to her for himself.

#668272 Rants on Hinata

Posted by Paperman on 21 November 2014 - 10:22 PM

That's the issue though. It seems in recent years, these passive no-personality characters are making some sort of comeback. Do you guys really think it's basically the illusion of this perfect Mary-Sueish character many people like? Or rather, prefer?

I ask because these sorts of characters are always, always featured in anime or manga. And whenever a 'tsundere' shows up, she is instantly criticized, even though she does much more than the moe type. It's like they don't understand it.

Also, while Orihime is a bit of an airhead, she is way ahead of Hinata. Initially I thought both were of the same mould but Orihime had her shining moments later on. Like when she slapped Ulquiorra. (Sorry).

I hate the way her fans idolize her. And I hate that she is made to be a token big-boobed, sweet natured character just with absolutely zero edginess about her so no one will question why the main character gets dumped off on her instead of with his one true love. That I hate. But not Hinata.

First of all, thank you so much for the comments. Yes, the technology used to make the movie was amazing. They still manage to retain the elements of classic Disney animation, which I feel was missing in recent years.

Haha yeah, I forgot to mention her fans. They make her up to be so much more than she is actually potrayed. On Tumblr, the amount of praise she gets for what she actually does is astounding.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but remember the anime scene with Pain? Way too overhyped.

I would love to reply to all of you but I must wait till someone posts. :)

You know, if you asked me a year ago how Naruto would have ended, i would've told you, "I don't know. It could go any way." I would've never, ever in a million years, guessed it would have gone down this path.

I suppose everyone feels like emptying their stomach contents over this, yeah?

More Translations:
:Since they were children, Hinata has wholeheartedly kept up her love towards Naruto
:When Naruto finally realizes her felings, Hinata falls by Toneri's hand!
:Those feelings passing by each other, it's time to realize the size of what he's personally lost!
:To protect the future, Naruto's final battle begins!

He "finally" realizes her feelings? Yeah okay. Because we all know she never confessed more than two years ago. So you're telling me he just figured it out.

Okay.

how bout you?

Personally, I would never ship NH even if it was 'done well.' Entirely because Hinata's character is entirely one-dimensional. I can't ship something if the character doesn't appeal to me.

Although, I've saw many people claim that they were willing to give NH a try, or that they've suddenly accepted it to be their OTP once that movie trailer/ending came out.

In the end, Hinata got all the credits of being a heroine.

Tell me, what did she do to deserve that credit?

Amazing, really. I think Naruto was the only anime/manga to jump-start the side character into the lead role, and with no reason whatsoever. Most of the anime or manga I've read or watched had the characters in the places they should have been in.

#659689 SasuHina Appreciation Thread

Posted by Paperman on 13 November 2014 - 02:10 PM

I thought I heard it all when I first saw 'SasuHina', but I then read some fanfics and this ship became as good as cannon.

You know, Kishi could've made the ultimate OP babies with this pairing.  :lulz:

#659686 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by Paperman on 13 November 2014 - 02:01 PM

I think it help if you think of Naruto as a company rather than a story by now. As soon as I saw the Hinata alarm clock, it became obvious. They're going to milk this new movie for all it's worth. Be glad you're not part of the gullible crowd rushing in to see a washed-out story.

That's all that ending was. It was to prolong 'Naruto' (if you can call it that anymore). Shocking equals 'so illogical it hurts your brain to think about it.

I can tell you that any Naruto fan worth their salt will pay no heed to this poor excuse of an animation.

Wait, I'm reading this right? Hinata is now part of Team 7 - the Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Kakashi Team 7? The same Team 7 that have unbreakable bonds? Hinata is now a part of that?

When these things happen, you know it's the sign of the apocalyse.
